T C Beckwith: TC was at the bar, a beer in hand as he listened to the juke box playing. Things had been quiet of late. Most of the pack had scattered, Alex was out on tour, and the usual hot spots had been damned quiet.
InkedPr1ncess: Strange for Bren to be back in Seattle after long months away, but it was always nice to visit and just hang out. Nothing much was different about her except being a little more fit and she still liked beer so why not stop at Styx? The face she spotted at the bar was familiar, taking a stool next to him just to see if he'd notice. :::
T C Beckwith: TC turned to look at her and chuckled. "Well look what the cat dragged in." He smirked and motioned for Nate to get her a beer, then looked back at her. "So what have you been up to?"
InkedPr1ncess: "Back in LA, working and chilling out. Life's been good. How about you?" She thanked Nate for the beer, gave him a friendly hello and turned back to her old friend. :::
T C Beckwith: "Same old, same old." He shrugged and took another sip. "Doing what I gotta, and keeping a low profile. Ain't that the way of it?"
InkedPr1ncess: Ironic that she'd see one of the pack there, after being away so long, but it felt good to catch up. "Always is, I think. I'm not out to make a scene anymore, I'm doing good now just being low-key. Things been good here?" :::
T C Beckwith: "They've been quiet. Real quiet in fact." he smirked. "Alex is on tour, so there's no screaming teeny boppers following him around the mall and shit." At least not in Seattle.
InkedPr1ncess: Real quiet was always nice, no reason to stir up the natives or anyone else interested in carousing. "They'll just be following him from show to show, threatening to rape him or whatever those fangirls are doing these days." ::::
T C Beckwith: "I don't even want to know. That's a special kind of torture that I ain't ever gonna put myself through. Even if I could sing."
InkedPr1ncess: "Yeah, but you had your share of the ladies, right? Maybe just not following you into bathrooms and stuff." Though honestly she could never imagine TC doing anything like Alex. :::
T C Beckwith: "You know what they say, a girl in every port." He smirked and drained his beer, then motioned for another one. Once Nate set it down, he cradled it in hand, but didn't take a drink just yet. "I seem to recall you having no shortage of guys hanging around."
InkedPr1ncess: She was working on her beer at the same time, probably end up with another and why not? Then she just shook her head, that had been the source of a lot of problems. "Yeah, and that was the problem. I sold out, but I don't do that anymore." :::
T C Beckwith: "Tell me about it. Put a fork in me, I am done." He shook his head. "The phrase lone wolf is there for a reason. One day you'll look it up and see me under the definition."
InkedPr1ncess: "Then why didn't I ever listen to you? Having fun with a guy is awesome, but I'm not being stupid anymore." Lots of things had changed. :::
T C Beckwith: "Why do any of us do the things we do?" He shook his head then took another sip of his beer. "We're fucking stupid."
InkedPr1ncess: "Amen to that. Should let me buy ya a beer, been a long time since I saw anyone from Seattle." She took a healthy drink of the first to drain it and then asked Nate for a refill. :::
T C Beckwith: "That's what happens when you move to LA. You get sunshine and beaches, not constant clouds and rain."
InkedPr1ncess: "Come down sometime and hang out, take ya to the beach or something. It's just nice and quiet where I live, all the insanity is in the city." :::
T C Beckwith: "May head that way some day. Who knows." As it was, he'd been in Seattle far longer than ever intended. Abby and the pack kept him anchored. Abby had walked out of a sense of self preservation, and the pack was scattered, but still he lingered. "Who knows."
InkedPr1ncess: She wondered how the pack was, or even if there was still a pack, and it would have been nice if she'd caught Alex but he was such a busy man. "Yeah, who the hell knows anymore? I'm just glad life has settled down, I'm not knee deep in everyone's shit anymore." :::
T C Beckwith: "There's always an upside to everything I guess."
InkedPr1ncess: "You are right, my friend." The music was actually good on the jukebox, and it was cool just to sit and have a couple beers with a friend she hadn't seen in a while. :::
T C Beckwith: TC nodded, and sipped his beer. "Think most folks are still hibernating for the winter. Once things warm up, you never know what'll happen."
InkedPr1ncess: "I hibernated for a little while when I got home and then finally came out of the cave. Things are going all right though, how about you?" :::
T C Beckwith: "Fine as frog hair." He nodded and motioned for another round, killing the beer he had and sliding the bottle over to be cleared.
InkedPr1ncess: "Sounds about like you." She ordered a shot after the second beer, asking him if he wanted one for old time's sake. "Might as well, we might not see each other again." :::
T C Beckwith: "Why not? Ain't like I got anywhere to be." He nodded to Nate, and then looked back at her. "Which fella was it? That last one that had you packing up and heading for LA?"
InkedPr1ncess: It was expected, she'd definitely made bad decisions about men. "Nah, it was all on me. I put too much in stuff that wasn't important. Not their fault I was dumb. But where's your lady? She let you come out alone?" :::
T C Beckwith: "Like I said before, lone wolfin' it. Me and relationships don't mix. Ain't meant to be, and something ever will be."
InkedPr1ncess: It was probably good idea just to let that go, she had always liked Abby and thought they were a good pair. "Maybe relationships are overrated anyway, I like the way things are going now. No pressure, no drama." :::
T C Beckwith: "Not waking up in a cold sweat because you know you're gonna fuck it up." He lifted his beer in toast and then took a long drink before setting the bottle back down.
InkedPr1ncess: "Yep, that's about right. I fucked it up enough. So now it's just me and whatever comes along." She didn't think that he could have fucked up that much, but she had been proved wrong before. :::
T C Beckwith: Oh he'd fucked up plenty. Saw himself as the white knight, saving the damsel in distress, not once thinking about what would happen after and selfish enough to ignore it once it did occur to him. And true to form, after she'd walked, he'd gotten into a bar fight and ended up in jail, because that was just how he rolled.
InkedPr1ncess: Seems they'd both screwed up then, she put too much in too quick and it backfired, and TC maybe just wasn't hardwired to be with anyone. It happened. The shots had been thrown back, she'd ordered them one more and then tipped hers towards his. "Here's to coming out on top one of these days." :::
T C Beckwith: "I'd be happy with coming out not dead." he lifted his glass, touched it to hers and knocked the shot back. The glass was set down on the bar and then he picked his beer up and took a drink.
InkedPr1ncess: Not dead was a very good thing, considering who they really were, it was a damn good thing. Shot was tossed back and when the glass was set down, she motioned back to the tables. "Play a quick game with me? We don't even have to bet." :::
T C Beckwith: "Sounds like a plan." He nodded and rose, taking his bottle of beer with him, and then set it on a pub table near the pool table. After selecting a stick, he racked the balls, then sat back for Bren to break.
InkedPr1ncess: She'd played a little more since she'd been gone, but she was still no ace. She sank the first three and then blew a corner shot and just sighed. "Still no damned good." :::
T C Beckwith: "At least you're not bouncing them off the table." TC moved around it, picking his shots, dropping a few in until he scratched and then he went back to sip at his beer.
InkedPr1ncess: "Yeah, stopped doing that a while ago. Just gotta face it, I'm never gonna be a pool shark." This time she only sank two, missed an easy third shot and stood back to wait for TC,. ::::
T C Beckwith: "It's all about geometry and physics. " He moved around the table, "Line of sight, trajectory, and movement. How you hit the ball will determine the type of spin it has on it and how it will react when it strikes another ball, and how that ball will react. Many make the mistake of thinking it's a straight shot from one to the next to the pocket, when it's far from it."
InkedPr1ncess: He made good points, she could learn from that instead of just playing against people that might let her win because she was cute. But at least the game was fun and she didn't take it all serious. She made a couple of good shots but then fell off again after that. "Guess an old dog can learn new tricks." :::
T C Beckwith: "Best way to learn is to keep at it, and just knock the balls around. Get a feel for them..." As he spoke he cleared the table, then moved back to finish off his beer. He motioned for another round, then looked back at her. "Rack em, let's see what you got."
InkedPr1ncess: "Might as well knock some more balls around, let's do it." Another round sounded good to her, and after the balls were racked up, she was doing a little better. Knocked in four before she lost one on the side. :::
T C Beckwith: "Remember to watch your angles." TC sat back and drank as he watched her. "Keep your chin no more than the width of your hand off the cue stick as you're taking your shot and move your arm in smooth easy strokes."
InkedPr1ncess: Strange for Bren to be back in Seattle after long months away, but it was always nice to visit and just hang out.
