At first I was pleased they actually responded, and then I read their response...

Dear Alex,
We understand your concern regarding the language and behavior of other AOL members. If you feel you are being harassed or antagonized, it is always best not to respond. This prevents the situation from escalating.
You may find it useful to know how to ignore another member in a chat room. To ignore someone's chat, simply right-click on the screen name, in the listing to the side of the chat room, and then click on Ignore Member. Their chat lines will no longer appear on your screen. Please be aware you will need to repeat this process if the member exits and re-enters the room.
You may block Instant Messages from specific members by going to Keyword: Buddy, clicking on Privacy Preferences, and customizing your IM's using the options listed.
You may find information on reporting harassing or otherwise inappropriate online behavior at Keyword: Notify AOL.
If you have additional comments or questions please email them to TOSGeneral@aol.com

The problem is not in ignoring him. The problem is that he is a hacker, and is harassing numerous AOL members, and has been doing so since January. Thus far AOL has been incapable of stopping him. He is able to suspend members chat, including the chat of the room owners. He has successfully managed to lock up the AOL client of members, and has in some instances locked up their
computers.
The issue is not in his language, the issue is his potentially criminal behavior and AOL's allowing it to continue for six months. The bit of pertinent conversation that I pointed out, which you apparently missed the relevance of, was to point out that he stated his intent to commit further harassment, and then proceeded to so.
What I want to know is what are you going to do about it? At this point I feel like I am doing YOUR job. Why don't you take over the task and block his IP address from accessing AOL, permanently?
