Wrinkled Black: There's no denying that the Vipond family was going to spend lots of time at Old Mill. The morning had been spent checking in on all of the animals. Grayson was enthralled by all of them, so much so that Adrienne had to take him out of the Baby Bjorn so he could get more up close and personal with them. She kept a good grip on his chubby little fingers all the while as they 'walked' among the baby goats. Finally, he was returned to the carrier, facing outward so he could enjoy the farm in all its glory as they headed back to the house. "I can't wait until he starts walking and can run around and really enjoy this place." She wasn't taking the route to the back patio, but instead toward the garage. How long would it take Alex to notice?
Alex Vipond: A while, obviously. Alex was so busy watching their son's reactions to his surroundings that he failed to note until they were there, that they were heading for the garage. Chuckling, Alex shook his head. "Well, I think we need to get a handle on where we're going before we turn him loose to explore." His arm slipped around her and he dropped a kiss to her forehead. "Should I call you Wrongway Feldman?"
Wrinkled Black: Well that had Adrienne laughing as she leaned in for that kiss. "Noooo.. there's something I wanted to show you before we go back inside. Excuse me, that we wanted to show you..." Grinning, she kissed the top of Grayson's head while digging into the pocket of her shorts. She finally retrieved the remote for one of the garage doors and handed it to Alex, looking smug as hell. Once the door was opened, this was pointed toward him...
Alex Vipond: One brow rose as he regarded her, taking the garage opening and pressing the button. "What did you do?" Grinning, he didn't have to wait long to see what was waiting on the other side and he cracked up, even as he moved toward it. "Holy golf carts!" Yes, he just went there. He moved around it, completely circling it before he jumped onto the seat. "This is fucking awesome!" Oh, hell to the yeah, he was going to be all over the place in that thing.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne cracked up and followed him into the garage, a little bit of a bounce to her step to please the baby. "I know Broadmoor's got the golf course, but I can't imagine they'd be too keen to have this wreaking havoc on their greens.." Here they had seventy-five acres private acres to wreak havoc on. She laughed as he jumped into the seat. "Happy Father's day, Daddy. For...y'know...the next twenty years." Grin!
Alex Vipond: Grinning, Alex admired his gift for a few more minutes before climbing out and moving to Adrienne, arms wrapping around the both of them. "Thank you. Best father's day gift ever." Not that he had a lot or you know, any experience before today on father's day gifts. It wasn't exactly a thing when his father was alive.
Wrinkled Black: "You're welcome, babe." She leaned happily into the hug, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Only fitting for the best daddy ever." Another kiss given before she was nodding to his very own Batmobile. "G'on, I know you wanna.." She'd been itching to give it to him as much as he was no doubt itching to drive it!
Alex Vipond: Grinning, he kissed her again, and moved back to the cart, jumping into the driver's seat and yes, he was off like a shot, heading out to the 'yard' to put the thing through its paces and see just what kind of maneuverability it had. Figure eights and donuts, yeah... he was tearing the grass up in places, but it would grow back, right? He managed to not tip the thing over, though at one point it was debatable. He managed to counter the lean with his own weight, and after that he settled down a bit, knowing what it was and wasn't capable of before he headed back to the garage and Adrienne. Still grinning, he patted the seat next to him. "Come on. I promise to behave."
Wrinkled Black: While Alex tested the Batmobile, you better believe Adrienne was filming all the while and grinning like an idiot. "Daddy likes his new tooooyyy..." Muttered for both Grayson and the camera. She laughed when he screeched to a halt near them, then tucked the phone into her back pocket. "You better, this thing isn't child restraint friendly." Snickering as she climbed in, her arm snug around Grayson despite his being nice and secure in the carrier.
Alex Vipond: When Alex rolled away from the garage, this time, it was at a much slower pace, and he did a complete tour of the cleared grounds. "I have no idea how this thing will handle offroad as it were, so we'll avoid the woods for now." He chuckled as he looked at Adrienne and Grayson and then looked back at the 'road' ahead of them. Face it, the thing was awesome and Alex knew he'd be using it to go from one building to the next whenever the need to do so presented itself.
Wrinkled Black: "Yeah, I think that'll be a mommy and daddy adventure while someone takes a nap." Eyebrows bobbed and she grinned. Because who didn't love escaping into the woods with their spouse-to-be? Grayson was thoroughly enjoying himself, giggling or squealing with every slight bump. Which only had Adrienne cracking up more. "He's so your son!"
Alex Vipond: Alex was laughing, thoroughly enjoying their outing. "And when we go, while someone is napping, we're going to take a picnic basket and a blanket and find a nice secluded spot, maybe near the stream and spend an idyllic afternoon there." he leaned over and dropped a kiss to her lips, lingering there a moment before his attention went back to where they were going.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne grinned against the kiss. "I am very much looking forward to it. Sorry, kiddo.." That was down to Grayson, chuckling. As she held their son snugly to her, she watched Alex's glee; it was contagious. "How'd I get so lucky?"
Alex Vipond: "Oh, I think I'm the lucky one." He smiled at her as they tooled around the property on that golf cart. One arm slipped around Adrienne, as they continued to explore the grounds, as best they could without going offroad. "Give it a few years and Grayson's going to be behind the wheel." As soon as he could reach, that is.
Wrinkled Black: She leaned into him as best as the seats would allow, but when he mentioned Grayson behind the wheel, she stiffened. "Mmm nope. Not happening. He's going to be chauffeured in an armored tank." She sounded...completely serious about that.
Alex Vipond: "What? No John Deere in the yard either?" He chuckled as he kissed her again and then he was heading for the house. "We should pack us a picnic and go to the pond. What do you say?" he slipped his hand into her hair after shutting off the cart, his thumb brushing her cheek. "Nothing's going to happen to him."
Wrinkled Black: "That sounds like a fantastic idea. Should we try to put Little Man down for a nap?" Depends on what kind of picnic Alex wants to have. Leaning into his touch, Adrienne smiled. "Okay, maybe a tractor..." She was just being a worrywart. It comes and goes.
Alex Vipond: "I think so." he smiled and leaned over dropping a kiss to her lips, and then he was stepping out of the cart and yes, he moved around to her side to help her and Grayson out, offering his free hand to Adrienne. "We'll get him cleaned up and fed and down for his nap and then pack up a lunch. Because who knew? They may end up skinny dipping.
Wrinkled Black: "Good plan. I think someone's had enough excitement this morning." A kiss was given the top of Grayson's head, chuckling as she climbed out of the cart. "Yeah, this thing is pretty damn sweet." Beam! If she does say so herself.
Alex Vipond: "Almost as much as the giver." He chuckled, his arm slipping around her as they made their way inside. "Thank you again, Baby, it's perfect." Oh, try prying him off that thing when it came time to go back to Seattle. Stepping into the house, he paused, looking the place over once more, as he tried to get used to it. "I can't get over this place, you know? I can't imagine anyone wanting to give it up."
Wrinkled Black: "You're welcome, I'm glad you like it." 'Like' was a bit of an understatement, which just left Adrienne grinning. Once they were inside, she reached behind her to unhook the carrier--even though it was mesh, it was still a warm day for baby carrying! She was then handing Grayson to Alex so she could be free of the thing completely. "Me either. We're never giving it up. It's staying in this family for generations." Which… maybe, like… two or three before they were all on Mars or something. But who's counting?
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, he took the baby, running his hand over that downy soft head as he settled him on his hip. "Definitely. It's not going anywhere." Celebrities tended to buy houses and then have to sell them due to divorces or just flat financial instability. Alex didn't have that problem. His wealth had been amassed over centuries and though the US no longer operated on the gold standard, Alex had enough material assets that he really didn't have to worry about it. Gold, after all, never went out of style.
Wrinkled Black: "You could have eight grandkids and we'd all be able to fit in here." That was said to Grayson as she leaned in to kiss his nose, then was heading up the grand staircase, tugging at the back of her shirt along the way. "I think we definitely need to take a dip either before or after lunch."
Alex Vipond: "That's totally doable." Alex followed her up, and yes, he was admiring the view as he went. "Pool or pond either is good." Alex chuckled and looked at Grayson. "Your mom is hot..." He totally needed to get Grayson a shirt that said that his mother was hot. Alex would buy it and dress the Little Man in it when they all went out. "Grandkids..." Alex contemplated that as he grinned. "That's so fucking awesome."
Wrinkled Black: "Yes she is. Because somebody is a lil porker and weighs a ton." That's not true, it's really because it was hot outside. Well... hot for these Seattleites. She laughed as she turned into the nursery, pulling out a fresh diaper and onesie since he was sweaty too. "Awesome and a little horrifying. Being called 'grandma' someday is definitely going to be bittersweet."
Alex Vipond: Alex settled Grayson onto the changing table, and paused. "Should we give him a quick bath, just to cool him down?" When Adrienne mentioned that being called gramma would be horrifying as well as awesome, he chuckled and kissed her cheek. "Just keep in mind that you will be the hottest gramma in any town."
Wrinkled Black: "Mmm, might be a good idea. Maybe it'll use up enough energy that he won't fight a nap." She swayed a little for the kiss to her cheek, snickering. "And don't you forget it. You'll be the hottest, baddest grandpa ever." Liptwitch.
Alex Vipond: Unable to hide the grin if he tried, Alex kissed her again. "If you want to keep him from getting away, I'll get his bath ready." Once she had him, Alex moved to do that, the little baby tub gathered and filled and then brought out to the changing table, before he gathered up the rest of his bath items.
Wrinkled Black: "I can do that!" That was said with a playful gasp as she scooped Grayson off the table and into her arms, smothering him with kisses while she did so. He squealed and squirmed, but she managed to get his onesie and diaper off in the meantime. "You're almost getting too big for this thing, we're going to have to find some alternatives." At the thought, she frowned and pressed another kiss to his chubby little cheek. "Stop growing, will ya? I don't like it."
Alex Vipond: Once everything was set up, and Adrienne scolded Grayson for growing, he chuckled. "Well, he can use the bath tub soon, or ... the sink." He paused and added, "At least we don't have to worry about throwing the baby out with the wash water. There's no disguising the fact he's in it."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne's expression softened as she settled Grayson in the little tub. He was still squirmy, so she held him as still as she could while Alex scrubbed. "I used to tease the kids about that. Louisa was really concerned about it once and said to me, 'Mama, wash Thomas first. He's littler, you won't lose me.'" Snickering, she shook her head. "As he got a little older, though, she'd try to fight him for who got to go first."
Alex Vipond: Alex smiled as he washed Grayson, his eyes settling on Adrienne. "We need a scrapbook, drawings, and pictures and stories of them, so Grayson can know who his siblings were, and feel close to them." He paused in his washing to lean over and drop a kiss to her cheek. Taking up the cloth again, he looked at Grayson and smiled. "You, little man, are going to know everything there is to know about your siblings."
Wrinkled Black: "That's...a wonderful idea..." The words got somewhat stuck in her throat. She was smiling, though glancing up briefly to keep her eyes from welling up too much. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't think about her children, but there were some days their absence hit her hard. "Louisa would've loved him. She wanted us to have another, though ideally a sister for her. I couldn't stand the thought of it." Decades later and the thought still made her shudder.
Alex Vipond: Rinsing Grayson off, he reached for the towel. "I just wish I'd had the chance. I'm sure I would have loved them." And he would have killed the bastard that had sired them, but that's neither here nor there. "We'll make certain that they know who they were, and .... I mean Grayson and any others we have." Just to clarify.
Wrinkled Black: Her smile warmed and she nodded. "Yes, you would've. Louisa started to get rather stubborn, but they were good kids. And Thomas's energy.." Her eyes widened and she chuckled, shaking her head. "Would've given you a run for your money, Little Man." She hoisted Grayson out of the bath and into the waiting towel, grinning. "There will definitely be others."
