Part I
Tre Williams: Back to the hotel they went. Parking, the two got off the bike and he was pulling the leftovers out of the baggers. Key was turned, opening the door, and he let her in first. Following her was his hand as it swatted her backside. Walking in after her, he locked up. "We're in Washington State. I think it should be easy enough to find us a waterfront place. Some pretty open woods around here, too. It just has to be perfect, though, if I'm settling for a place I can get mail," he said setting his container on a counter. "Know what I mean?" he asked looking at her. -d-
Sheri Meadows: The swat to her hindquarters had her hurrying her pace a little, the redhead spinning around on him and narrowing her eyes as if she was angry, but she was far from it and her smile said as much. Once she was in the room, she walked backwards towards the table and dropped her bag down on it before shrugging off her jacket. She'd toss it over the back of a chair as she said, "I do. And I think so, too." She was moving to the bed, sitting on the edge to take off her boots before crawling up toward the pillows where she curled up, quietly watching him while thinking about what it would be like living with him, not just as roommates, but more. Much more. It was a first for her, and when she recalled how old he was, she wondered if it was a first for him. "Have you ever...had any other...mates?" She wouldn't be mad if he did. In two centuries, he surely couldn't have been living like a monk, and she was curious. -d
Tre Williams: "Tired?" He asked watching her curl up on the bed. Removing his vest, he draped it on a chair, then he tugged his shirt up and off and tossed it on the floor. Clearly his vest mattered more. Other clothing? Not so much. When she got to asking questions, he thought she'd ask what he had to take care of that had them leaving so soon, but no she asked abut his dating history. Chuckling, he nodded. "Yeah...a few times." He then went to the mini fridge to get a bottle of water. -d-
Sheri Meadows: Now she'd look a little confused. "So you've bonded with someone before?" She was confused because he made it sound like once it was done, that was it...for life, so she couldn't understand how he'd want to be with her then. As for being tired, she shook her head. The room was just small and didn't have a whole lot of places to sit, so she chose the most comfortable. It allowed her to watch him as he shed his vest and shirt before heading over to the small fridge that was stocked with a few essentials, like bottled water. -d
Tre Williams: He moved to the bed, coming to sit on its edge, looking at her. Smiling softly at her, he nodded. "Twice. As far as human courtship goes...you could say I've been widowed twice." He took a moment as the memory was coming back to him. Eyes lifted from floor back to her. "I mated twice. Full bonding. Otherwise...dating...and one-nighters. I guess have filled my life. I haven't been bonded for a century. Dated for half of that. I tend to be on the move. When I don't find a job to tie me to somewhere for a few weeks I just wander the woods. Live by myself, one with nature. It's done wonders for keeping me calm and nurtured when I do go into society for extended periods of time." -d-
Sheri Meadows: Widowed. Well that was unexpected. Sheri immediately felt bad for bringing it up and she stammered out an apology. "I'm sorry...I..." Yeah, she was at a loss for words, but she was wondering something else. She just didn't know how to ask it now that she knew he'd lost two mates. It honestly still amazed her that she was talking to someone that old. Then again, maybe TC was old, too. She'd never asked his age and he never told her. And then there were the two vampires in the bar -- who knew how old they were. To lighten the mood a little, she said softly, "You know, you're really robbing the cradle with me." She wasn't even twenty-five yet. Wouldn't be until next month. Again, she didn't mind that he dated or had one-nighters. So had she. Granted, he probably had a hell of a lot more than she did, but he was older! When he told her how he tended to keep his temperament even, she listened, learning from him and nodding in understanding. Soon enough she'd start feeling that itch again, like one she just could scratch, as it got closer to the full moon, and they'd be finding ways to work off the energy together. When she felt it was safe, she cleared her throat and said, "Can I ask you something else?" The fact that she was asking had to mean that it had to do with his former mates, no? -d
