acaciaincognito: Seattle was not doing her any fucking favors. The weather was enough to make her frosty glare narrow in annoyance. Her usually straight (carefully made that way) hair had the bounce of waves tonight. Though the rest of her was on point to a T. The classic Little Black Dress was made for curves like hers and the red Jimmy Choo heels amped up the vixen look without flaw to go with those cherry red glossed lips. Currently halfway through her favored rum & coke, twirling pool stick between thumb and forefinger as she studied the solo-played table. Lips pursed a bit before leaning over and taking another slam-hit shot to the aligned balls. –d
Nash Lighter: Nash was happiest when turning a wrench or driving. He would go out on the occasional date, but since his last relationship ended, there hadn't been anyone was serious about and he wasn't really sure he wanted to let anyone in that deep again. The fact that he was unattached was also an excuse to send him off on a wild brother chase, whenever one of the boys got lost. Or the 'rents thought they were lost. Or thought they might get lost, which was why Nash had spent the last thirty hours on the road driving in from Miami. He'd stopped when he needed fuel, and a cat nap, but other than that it had been balls to the wall, living on caffeine and high octane. He'd stopped long enough to shower, nap and change his clothes when he got into town, but then he was rolling that Skyline into the lot of Stix. It was one of the places his brother had mentioned in conversations with the family. Stepping out of the car, he glanced around and then stepped back, swinging the car door shut before he crossed the lot at a jog, to head inside. He wasn't dressed fancy, just jeans a t-shirt and a pair of sneaks, although he was sure missing that Miami heat about now. It was like he'd crossed the country and stepped into winter. It was weird for him. The chick at the pool table drew his gaze and yes, for a long few moments he forgot he had a brother, but eventually his brain kicked into gear and he tore his eyes long enough to make his way to the bar.
acaciaincognito: Playing solo pool, to Ace, was like playing solo chess. It lost all aspects of being a game and became a tool to think, strategize, and get that same rush and high she felt in a boardroom. Blue ball, top left pocket. Red, side right pocket. Methodical, precise, and while her expression might be that guarded facade, but she was actually enjoying herself. It'd been a while since she'd enjoyed the past time without her ex brother in law disapprovingly antagonizing her on the other side of the table. She noticed the feeling of being watched, though she was entirely too well trained in her own composure to let curiosity get the better of her. She stifled it until she knocked the last ball in pocket. Only then, as she set aside the stick and turned toward the bar did she indulge in spotting the man. Her red coat and purse already waited for her at the bar, and she was taking her drink back to that spot. –d
Nash Lighter: A beer was ordered and sipped from before Nash was asking Patrick, as the man introduced himself, and the two exchanged a dap of hands, rather than a shake and Patrick knew of Ian, but hadn't seen him in the pool hall for a while. Nash didn't have Alex's address, and he highly doubted he'd be able to just walk up onto a celebrity's property, even if he did have it, without potentially getting shot. Thanking Patrick, he nodded and then looked back toward the pool table, only to find the woman crossing the room toward the bar. He gave her a smile and a nod up, and all the while he managed to keep from checking her out. He gestured to the pool table. "Care for a game?"
acaciaincognito: Oh he was an interesting one, he kept his eyes above her neck. She paused at the bar, the glass set to the surface as she took her attention to Jorge. George? She wasn't sure. "Another, please" Blue eyes returning to Nash a bit of a smile ever so close to settling on her lips. Close at least. "Certainly. I'll rack and you take first shot?" The tumble of dark waves shifted at her shoulder with the scant tilt of her head as she watched him. He seemed harmless enough. –d
Nash Lighter: "Sure." He nodded, and then motioned to poor Patrick that the round was on him, before he picked up his beer and moved over toward the table. Setting his beer down on the ledge that served the pool players, Nash went in search of a pool cue that wasn't warped to shit, missing a tip, or otherwise defective. Amazingly enough, the cues not only seemed to be in good shape, but there was a variety of weights. Nash chose a lighter stick, to give him more control and speed. He turned, chalking his hands, before he picked up the cube to chalk the end of his stick. Only when the woman was not looking at him, would he allow himself the luxury of checking her out. And there was a lot to check out. But as soon as she looked back at him, his eyes were on hers. "I'm Nash, by the way."
acaciaincognito: An inclination of her head in thanks to him as she took up her glass set down foe her, soon enough heading to the table. Drink taken before the glass carefully aside and her purposeful steps took her to the end of the table. There she set out the rack and after she used the coins from the ledge, freed the balls to load the rack. She stole a glimpse of him while he was studying the sticks and she tightened the formation in the rack . Not lingering, but just a brief approval of how those jeans fit. Go figure that by the time she stored the rack and took her stick from the table a grin hinted on her lips. Chalking the tip, blues moved to him and caught his gaze. "Acacia, or Ace if you prefer. Nice to meet you, Nash" -d
Nash Lighter: "Nice to meet you, Ace." he nodded, the grin that merely hinted on her lips, was full fledged on his own. If he'd not been busted checking her out yet, he would be before the night was over. Chicks tended to know, without looking, same as a dude. It was like a game, a dance; look, but don't get caught in the act. "I like the sound of that." Settling the cue ball to the felt, he leaned over the table, and lined up on that one. There was varied school of thought on the best way to break. Some thought coming in from the side gave you a better advantage and others thought dead on was the best chance of distributing the force throughout the rack. Nash was more of a sidle up and go at the rack from that point between that first and second ball, shooting more for the eight than any of the other balls on the table. The result was a good scattering of balls across the table, and a solid dropping into the corner pocket. Straightening, Nash smiled at her. "So do you live here or just visiting?" He moved around the table, a smile and an excuse me given as he slid past her to take up a low lean over the table on the other side of her, lining up on four since he'd dropped the seven on the break.
acaciaincognito: Yes well, of course she knew, just like he probably knew she was enjoying the ability to look him over without being admonished for it. Most men not attracted tended to not bother with interaction. She was a petite 5'4", but in those heels and the way she carried herself there was nothing dainty about her personality. His comment on her name amused her. Lifting her glass for a sip, she remarked "Doesn’t sound half bad hearing it" Watching his approach, she more than approved. Straight forward but finding that key weak spot to maximize impact. "I'm in negotiations to see if I want to make this city mine or not. Originally New York and only recently arrived here. " A lean of her hip to the table across from him "Are you visiting?" He looked way too tan to be from here. Then again stranger things had happened than a tanned person in Seattle. –d
Nash Lighter: "Yeah, just here to check on my baby bro. The 'rents are of the opinion that despite the fact that he's nearing thirty, that he can't take care of himself." The whole thing was amusing to him. And of course there was the chance that the whole thing was their way of distracting him from his most recent failed relationship. Because what were parents for if not distraction! "I was born in California, lived in Georgia for a while, Miami twice, I lived there for a bit, before going home, and then moving to New Mexico with my cousin, and then from there to Georgia, and back to Miami." He shrugged and dropped the four, but scratched on the shot so he stepped back over toward his beer. "I've never been to a place where you felt the need for a jacket in July."
acaciaincognito: The mention of his parents and that situation did have a smile surfacing "A mother never stops worrying about her children, even if they are grown" Another drink before the glass was set aside, free hand curled around the pool stick. "New York has it's cold times, but this is ridiculous, I agree. Business could be great with here as a hub, I just am having a hard time imagining my life coordinating umbrellas to my shoes" Because she would, of course, princess of the Jimmy Choo that she tends to be. "On the bright side, there's coffee on every corner to combat the weather" –d
Nash Lighter: Chuckling, Nash nodded. "Coordinating accessories is always such a headache." Like he knew. Basically he pulled a t-shirt from the pile and if it smelled okay, wasn't ripped to shreds, or wasn't covered in grease, he wore it. "So what is your business, if you don't mind my asking?"
acaciaincognito: From the little gold and diamond asp ring, the ornate tiny locket and the clothes she wore, it was a bit obvious that she shopped with a designer budget. A quiet laugh escaped when he commiserated with her on those superficial woes. "Media. Specifically newspaper journalism. Investing, buying majority shares, owning the paper, essentially" Amazing what wonders could be hidden or manipulated when the written word was at your fingertips. "I also dabble here and there in other take overs if a company is struggling and I get to revitalize it, bring it back or give it a mercy killing" Blues watched him curiously. "What do you do?" -d
Nash Lighter: Nash gave that little chuckle and shook his head. "Cars." A nod followed. "Nothing as fancy or in depth as what you do. I just fix 'em, rebuild 'em when it's needed and when the opportunity presents, I race 'em." Was it what he was born to? No. His people come from a long line of military, and his dad retired to Napa to grow grapes and make wine. And he did pretty damned alright for himself doing it. So much so that the spawn of Jonathan Lighter had the choice of doing whatever the hell they wanted, after college, because that dad did insist on. And yes, Nash had studied agriculture. Cars he simply fell into and once there... he was hooked.
acaciaincognito: She shook her dark head with a soft laugh "What I do isn't fancy. I do to businesses what you do to cars. " She leaned over, looking at the table set up from her vantage point to get a lay of the land in the scatter so to speak. "I like the art of acquiring, the game of the chase, the victory of the win" Sooty lashes lifted, pale eyes meeting his and a wicked grin edging onto her lips. "There's a certain power in negotiating, like racing. Seeing how smoothly the gears shift, knowing when to give it more gas, hugging the curves to stay on course. Not so very different at the core of it." Straightening she added with a flirty taunt "Except I get to wear heels instead of motor oil"-d
Nash Lighter: His head canted to the side a bit as he checked her out in that lean, but then he straightened, a shit eating smile given as some dude at another table was caught doing the same thing. No need to shrug, or try and deny it. The woman had great lines and what wasn't there to be admired? Nash looked back at her and caught that wicked grin, his own kicking up a notch. "Seeing how she'll handle..." Nash chuckled again. "Yeah, well, I can't walk for crap in heels and what's wrong with motor oil?" Blues on blues, that flirty taunt was thrown back at her.
acaciaincognito: Oh yes, well there was a vain power in being admired , though this time she peeked at him catching him looking. Not that she did more than grin and lean in, taking a clean shot, banking and hitting one in while avoiding too much clatter on the table. Ace liked the skill of a clean shot. "Can't say I'd be interested in seeing you in heels. Would distract from the jeans and those work quite well for you" Moving around to his side of the table and leaning to set up another shot. At his question, that look given to him and she retorted before cracking another shot. Her methods were direct, controlled power, adaptable to change on the table. "Motor oil is spectacular… on motors. I could be wrong, but I'd require proof" –d
Nash Lighter: "I'll have to take you with me when I get her up on the rack and give her a lube job." Okay yeah, he had that head tilt going again as she leaned. At this rate she could run the table and he .... really wouldn't mind. At all. Hell he might not notice the game was over. "So what do you drive?" Designer clothes, designer shoes, and yeah she must kick them off when she drove, or the heels would be scuffed. That or someone drove for her. Which could be but he hadn't seen a car with a driver waiting in the lot. Then again, she could have hired a ride, who left. Ah hell, who knew?
acaciaincognito: "I don't drive. Correction, I have a Ducati Diavel that I can drive, but I tend to not be very skilled in driving a car. So I have a driver...well, did. For now it's a local service until I decide if this take over is what I want" She scooted right by him, close enough he'd get the faint whif of perfume. Not a heavy scent, it had the faint warmth of vanilla and sandalwood. Once by him, she took a shot that landed two balls in the corner pockets given the split shot. Math, valuable to know your angles! She grinned at him as she straightened, hip to the table when she turned to face him. "So, you, me, rack, lube job. That sounds probably a lot more taboo than what it is, but still worth the investigating" She leaned past him to pluck the chalk off the table. –d
Nash Lighter: He watched her as she passed, that smile still in place as he lifted his beer and took another sip. When she took that hip lean against the table, he took one more sip of his beer and then set the bottle down. "It's whatever you want it to be." Nash chuckled, then looked toward Patrick, hand lifted to call for another round, before he looked back at Ace. "So what's the company you're looking at?"
acaciaincognito: Chalking the tip, his response had her grin surfacing "That's m favorite answer" For things to be what she wants them to be. At least she was honest that she was spoiled, determined and liked winning. Once that tip was dusted blue, she took the lean again "The Seattle Times Company. I have a fondness for journalism" Slide of that stick, no hesitation and one more snap of a shot sent the ball running across the table, but eventually missing. "What sort of races do you compete in?" Moving to set aside the pool stick to take up her glass for that last drink before the next round arrived. –d
Nash Lighter: "Street mostly. Some small time legit races. Nothing major. I basically race to win enough to keep up my car habit." Face it, he had an expensive habit. "Why the Seattle Times? Is it floundering? Hell for that matter aren't all printed news outlets having problems with competing with digital? I think it's pretty much people like my dad that still read papers."
acaciaincognito: "Hm, very much like a boardroom shark, just a different commodity" She shook her head slightly to his questions. " Seattle is actually very lucrative. It's not just the Times. The company also owns several other smaller publications in Washington and in Maine. Along with the paper, you have the online assets, the rights to exclusive materials that later turn into book deals or other publishing windfalls. Saying it as if it's just the Seattle Times is like asking why you would own the batmobile because it's just a car and planes are faster. The last acquisition from the Seattle Times Company was 213 million dollars. That's just for the Maine publications they bought. " She smiled at him, a bit of excitement in her eyes "The older generation that still enjoys paper in their hands, the influence a lot and it trickles down. Elections are won and lost because of journalism, public opinion and the power of the written word. The only thing more powerful than the written word is the whispered word. " –d
Nash Lighter: "Oh that part I definitely get. Whatever the media spins is what the public eats up and takes as gospel. You got some publications that don't care about truth, they only care about sales. If their shit comes up bogus, it's just another day for them and retraction isn't exactly in their vocabulary. Those types of assholes...." he nodded, a chuckle given. "Those are the ones I would love see getting taken down a notch."
acaciaincognito: She smiled at him as if she might just give him a cookie. "Exactly. Power is intoxicating. Now, you get in an owner that is easily influenced, they'll be bought in favors before the ink on the press is dry and the whole system is corrupted. One bad apple in the bag can turn the rest to rot rapidly. I like to take and purge, enjoy the benefit of success. Im in favor of keeping some things out of the public eye, but straight up spinning world events for their own gain is...a pet peeve" Couldn't completely lie. There were several supernatural things in New York that she used her influence with the paper to spin into something easily explained. But aside from personal gain, it was for the betterment of humanity that they didn't readily believe in Vampires, Witches, Shifters, etc. She had no ethical halo, but she wasn't evil. –d
Nash Lighter: Nash... was unaware of any of that shit, unlike his baby brother who was in the know, but he could appreciate that there were things the public didn't need to know, for their own good. Who would want to be the one to incite mass hysteria over some potential disaster that may or may not happen? Some sleeping dogs are best left to lie on their own. Nash nodded as he regarded her. "I like that." He gave another nod, "Cleaning up the media, one outlet at a time."
acaciaincognito: "And I happen to be really good at it. " She moved over toward him, taking up a lean against the table as she watched him. "It's not exactly a selfless path, but I have the luxury of enjoying what I do, or not doing it at all." Ace watched him, a smile playing on her lips. "The downside -some might say- is I am very determined to have what I want. Personally I see that as a strength, not a weakness" –d
Nash Lighter: Nash gave her a smile as she stepped closer and took up that lean against the table. He took a step closer, his eyes on hers as he shrugged. "Nothing wrong with getting what you want, or enjoying getting what you want. Hell, everybody is chasing the same thing. Some are just better at it than others."
acaciaincognito: She held his gaze, watching him as he stepped closer, a slight hold on her lower lip with a bite before letting it go. The slow blink and dip of lashes, looking to where their drinks were being delivered, then to him once again. "Tell me what you want, Nash. The best negotiation is when both sides get just enough of what they want to avoid a hostile takeover" Then again, hostile take over's did turn her on. Shh. He didn't need to know that. –d
Nash Lighter: "You say hostile takeover like it's a bad thing." He chuckled, and then gave a shrug of a shoulder. "Fast cars and women who can appreciate them; Women who aren't afraid of a little speed." Nash leaned a bit, reaching to pull his beer off that table, and then took a sip. "You know the whole, Mach two with your hair on fire thing..." Yes, he was quoting Top Gun.
acaciaincognito: "Ohhh, not a bad thing at all. Just hard to find someone with enough spine to reach into the mire of life and rip out the parts that make them tingle" She watched him lean, grinning at the quote used. As he lowered the beer, she leaned in, curves barely brushing against him as she rested her cheek by his to whisper by his ear. "I like the speed, I like the fire. Is this the part where someone warns the other to buckle up?" –d
Nash Lighter: Nash smiled as she leaned in with that whisper. "Well, I do have a five point harness..." and no passenger seat. "We may need alternative transportation." He chuckled and shook his head. "My car isn't exactly equipped for passengers." Speed yes, passengers, no.
acaciaincognito: She lifted her shoulders in a little shrug as she eased out of the lean, walking with that touch-if-you-dare- sway to her hips en route to the bar. She didn't linger long, just enough to take up that shiny black Prada and her things moving them over to the pool table where they were. Cell phone taken from the purse, she scrolled in her contacts to the recent luxury rental service she was using. Thumb press and it dialed, lifting the phone to her ear. "Yes, this is Acacia Lucas. Instead of that darling driver returning with the standard, please deliver one of your luxury performance cars. No, no I have a licensed driver that will be handling the wheel" She smirked at Nash with a little shrug. Yes, you can send the documents to my email and I will esign it. Yes, at the same address as the last drop off tonight. Thank you" She ended the call and dryly added. "Perks of power. " –d
Nash Lighter: Nash chuckled. "Must be nice to be at the top of the corporate food chain." He lifted his beer, draining it, and setting the empty down on the counter there. "So what do these car people of yours call 'performance'." Yes, he was curious. He'd be an idiot not to be.
acaciaincognito: "Very. Money doesn’t buy happiness but it does make the misery more fun" A cheeky grin and she shook her head with a laugh, an honest laugh, not the coy teasing sort. "I have no idea. Could be a ford Mustang, could be some speed demon BMW, or it could be something impressive and ridiculous. They get a lot of corporate men going through their second midlife crisis. So it should be interesting to see what they bring....and how you adapt to handling a car you don't know" –d
Nash Lighter: "If it's got wheels I can drive it." Don't get him started on the shit he's done with tractors. "So what did you do for fun in New York?" When the waitress came by to pick up the empties, Nash asked her for water. Best way to cure a hangover was to not get one, and staying hydrated went a long way toward that. Besides, he was going to be driving soon from the sound of things.
acaciaincognito: Ace kept phone in hand and when the alert vibrated , she tapped and swiped her way to her email, squiggling a signature and getting it sent back to the rental company. "Different things, depending on the era of my life. In my college years, annoying my guardians with bad life choices like a journalisim degree, sororities and pool. Then it was work, more work - which I consider fun. There were times in life that the highlight of my day was going to the park" Well, that was when she had her child, watching a miniature human discovering dirt was oddly satisfying and fun. "But for the relevant topic response, riding the Ducati, shopping, research, and my dog. " With business done, the phone dropped into her purse and she looked back to him. "What about you. Other than women and cars, what do you do for fun?" –d
Nash Lighter: "Surfing. The water. I love the ocean. It's just amazing. Peaceful and calm. I managed to get involved with some folks who were tagging wildlife and was able to help them for a couple of months, before business and family pulled me back to land." He chuckled.
acaciaincognito: "Oh God I haven't been to the beach in a year at least. " Of course it had been an itty bitty island and cost a fortune. Maybe she'd do something local since she was thinking of getting a lay of the land. Tucking back a lock of ink black hair behind her ear, she lifted her glass for a sip. "Wildlife, a noble cause. You do fast cars, what about boats? I hear Seattle has some great spots to feel the speed on the water. Since you're here for family business, can't hurt to have a bit of fun" –d
Nash Lighter: "Never been a speed boat demon. Boats I prefer wind and tide to sheer horse power." He shrugged. "Kind of contradictory, I know." The waitress brought him a bottle of water, and offered to refresh Ace's drink, before she slipped away again. Nash cracked the cap on the bottle of water and took a deep drink, before recapping it.
acaciaincognito: "Life is at its best when full of contradictions. There's always a time for nature versus nurture. Nurturing the need for the rush and the high of it. Then letting nature show you balance" A smile curved her lips and she took up the pool stick again to lean over the table and line up a shot. "Im the same woman when I'm ripping apart a boardroom, bedroom, or curled up with my dog watching old movies. All interesting things have depth. " And whack! Another ball in the hole. –d
Nash Lighter: Okay so his eyes strayed to her ass as she leaned over the table. He was sure he'd been caught a time or two checking her out by now, so it didn't matter much. Still, he wouldn't make it obvious. "That they do." He nodded, and took another sip of his water, watching as she slowly ran the table.
acaciaincognito: That dress was designed to draw the eye and playing pool did nothing to detract from that. Sure he'd been caught, but if she didn't want him looking, she damn sure would've told him by now. And yes, she ran the table, a slow and methodical strike and lay up before striking again. Until she had nothing but that 8 ball left. With it remaining...she motioned for him to have a go at the table. "Tell me something about you" –d
Nash Lighter: "Oh no, I don't take charity. Take your shot." Nash shrugged when she wanted to know more. "Dad was military, settled in California when he separated, moved up to Napa, started growing grapes." Nash chuckled and shook his head. "He didn't know dick about grapes, but he sure as hell learned everything he could and he hired people to help him. Now, people come from all over to the winery. People actually book the place for weddings and shit." He shook his head. "Yeah it was kind of weird, growing up, learning about wine and learning how to taste the different flavors the soil brings to it. Most kids were spending their free time on sports, I was surfing and drinking wine. And then high school, I took auto shop." He nodded.
acaciaincognito: She smirked a bit at the charity remark. "And here I was considering it mercy, not charity." The 8 ball shot had her leaning a bit further to get the right angle, one Choo heeled foot lifting a bit in balance. But it was a clean shot, lifting out of the way, curls swaying as she stood to watch it sink in. She listened to him, smiling a bit "Now see, I have a wine cellar but can only enjoy it on a superficial level, I never thought about the soil." "Surfing and drinking wine sounds more like my spring break than childhood. " Setting aside the pool stick, returning to where he was to take up her glass. "I like your father's determination. I suppose one engine was all it took to get you hooked on cars?" –d
lead her not: Rain or shine, the two of them had decided to leave Leavenworth behind and head out to do some sightseeing in Seattle. Thus far, the weather had thankfully been on their side, and good thing, too, because she was on the back of his bike. Not that she minded. A little water wasn't going to make her melt like some famous witch or anything, and she rather liked wrapping herself around him, but she'd rather not experience the bullet-like pelting of rain if she could avoid it. Hunger would have them hunting for a place to eat and soon as she saw Stix, she'd tap her hand against his side, seeing if he saw it too and when they were stopped at a light, she asked, "Look good?" She'd leave the decision up to him. –d
TheDriftingHowl: The older harley davidson came to a stop at the red light. Feet propped on the ground as he looked over his shoulder to her then to stix. " Just can't get you away from a pool table can I " He said with a grin. Once the light was green he was moving .Feet lifted and propped until he came to roll into the parking lot and backing up into a spot. Once again feet were on the ground, holding bike still as he let the firey red head remove herself before he himself set the kick stand down and dismounted the bike. He wore a simple pair of loose, not baggy, once black more a dark grey now faded pair of jeans. Along with it a white tee, sleeve once there now had been torn. And his leather kutte. Upon review one could tell he was not affiliated to any MC. " Foood " he said like a zombie as he grinned. Hand to the small of her back as he walked her to the door. Pulling it open and ushering with his hand for her to step in " Hotties first " He said with a smirk at her -d-
Nash Lighter: "Oh yeah, the shop teacher told us we'd have a few cars to pick from. A buddy of his has a junk yard and he was donating the cars. So we show up and there's all kinds of cars out there, man, and most of them are just, absolute crap, and the one I fell for was a POS '74 AMC Javelin." he cracked up as he shook his head, and then he looked toward the door, a nod up given the couple stepping in. "hey."
lead her not: Her lips twisted into a smirk when he said he couldn't get her away from a pool table. She hadn't even thought of that -- it was how they'd first met and here she was dragging him into another. "It has nothing to do with pool. I ate here the first night I got here and the food was good." So there! The serendipity was still funny, though. When he pulled into the lot and backed the bike up, she braced herself on his shoulders and got off. Due to the weather, she was dressed in layers starting with a leather jacket over a long-sleeved shirt and then a clingy camisole. She'd paired it all with some skinnies and boots. Soon as she unfastened the skull cap from her head, she went about smoothing those ginger colored tressed, giggling as he did his zombie walk alongside her. The man could easily make her laugh and that was one of his many charms. "Thanks, baby," she murmured softly when he held the door open for her and soon as she stepped inside, she was surveying the scenery, seeing if anything had changed since she'd been there last. She'd find only the faces had and when the one guy gave them a nod, she cracked a smile and gave a wave. "Bar okay?" It was asked of Tre. She looked over a shoulder at him, waiting. –d
acaciaincognito: "Mm, well I was killed the expectations of being a socialite at a pretty young age, but I'm sure my father had wanted me to go through law as he did. I didn't get into journalism until senior year of high school. " Pale gaze lifted to the sight of the door opening, offering a brief nod of greeting. "It's fun, though. When you can get the same rush now as you got in the start of it - the spark for it." -d
TheDriftingHowl: Oh the fun the mun has when chars have a coincidence. Like the fact his Daryl look a like just made a zombie joke without thinking about it or as he entered hearing tail ends of conversation he heard the brunette mentioning journalism. Which went straight to reporter for him. Thinking.. fuckin' April O'Neil over here. Reporters. Detectives. Paparazzi. Anything close to the like was bad news for people who didn't want to be seen or known specially in a lime light fashion. But all smiles was he. Nodding to the two and givng a " Hey " back before he looked at Sheri. " Bar sounds perfect. I need a drink? " He seemed to drink a lot but since it took 2 kegs just to get a hint of a buzz.. it didn't matter how much he actually drank. He'd slid onto a stool next to her once she did -d-
Nash Lighter: "Oh yeah." Nash nodded as he pulled his gaze back to Ace. "I got so much shit for picking a rust bucket of a car, but no one was laughing when I was done with her." He grinned, and took another drink from that water bottle, before looking over at the bar. Someone had mentioned food? That actually sounded like a good idea. He looked back at Ace. "You want to get a bite to eat?" He'd have to take a leak before hitting the bar, but he was already pushing from his lean to make that trip.
acaciaincognito: She was wearing Jimmy Choo and carrying Prada, the only way she could be mistaken for a reporter or the paps was if it was in pitch black room. "Makes it even sweeter when you get to prove people wrong" She nodded at his question. "Sounds good. Burger and fries would be great" The only thing that tasted *almost* as good as victory? French Fries. –d
lead her not: At the bar, she dropped her purse on an empty stool and then shrugged out of the jacket she was wearing and folded it over the top of the bag before taking a seat. The nod from Acacia would be returned as well as have Sheri recognizing her from the night they all learned the bartender's real name -- speaking of which, she addressed the poor guy accordingly this time. "Hey Patrick," she said with a smile. "Two Angry Balls," she ord
ered for them, taking the initiative this time and smirking at Tre because she finally beat him to it. -d
TheDriftingHowl: Head would slow turn to her after she order. Cocking a brow up as he eyed her " Mhmm " He said with a playful grin on his lips that showed he was indeed not upset " You tryin' to take my man card ? " He said teasingly " How am I to look good you go ordering everything " He said teasing. " Clue what you wanna eat Cherry? " He said with a smile. He never said she was any of those but he took a guess hearing what she got into. As for the way she dressed. Well as far as those brands go. They were overly popular. Shitty jobs and no job women had them. May not have rent but some people rather look good then live good. -d-
lead her not: She grinned at that, leaning sideways to nuzzle her face to his neck, lifting her head just enough to whisper against his ear, "You can take it back later." She really wasn't trying to take anything away from him, and honestly, by his expression she knew he was kidding, but how could she turn down the opportunity to tease him a little? When he asked what she wanted she immediately said, "Burger! Lots of cheese and lots of onion rings and fries." While she wasn't sure how she felt about this whole werewolf thing, she was liking the fact that she could eat more of what she liked and worry less about gaining weight. –d
acaciaincognito: Nash had to go handle man-things, she took the opportunity to set herself at the bar with her drink in one hand, unloading her things on the stool next to her. Legs crossed, phone in hand, she handled a few business emails through that handy little gadget after putting in an order for burgers and fries. -d
TheDriftingHowl: " Should of known. " He said with a laugh. Once they had there stuff all decided out he placed the order " Yeah can we get a Cheeseburger double cheese it with onion rings and fries on the side. I'll take one.. medium rare " He wasn't in needed of a bleeding meat right now " With loaded chili cheese fried " Which just really meant he wanted bacon and chives added -d-
Nash Lighter: Nash handled his man things and then he was heading back out to the bar, phone pressed to his ear as he left a voice mail for his little brother. "Bro, Mom and Dad are wondering where you are. They haven't heard from you in a whole three days. I'm in town at the Hotel Nexus. Don't laugh, it was available. Call me, asshole." He hit end and dropped his phone back into his pocket as he headed for the bar.
lead her not: Seeing her sit down at the bar not that far away from them, Sheri felt like she should at least say something to the woman, so after all their orders were placed, she said, "It's Acacia, isn't it?" Wanting to make sure she got the name right. –d
acaciaincognito: Get her near her email and god help, she was useless as a human being until her task was done. She hit send and just noticed Nash was back and luckily she got out of that fog in time to hear and then see the redhead speaking to her. It took her the tick of a couple of seconds before recognition clicked. "Oh, Hello. Yes. Nice to see you again. Enjoying your evening?" A glimpse to Nash and her lips twitched in amusement to his ending remarks. She slid him her phone to show him the picture of the car that would be arriving. A 2016 Audi R8 –d
TheDriftingHowl: He was taking a moment to look over the place. Checking it out. He turned to look at Sheri and grinned " Kind of uppity for a pool hall " Then again the man lived in dives, shit holes, and biker bars so having a floor that wasn't sticky was uppity for him. He noticed she was saying hi to the other woman now and turned his head as she was saying hello back. Eyes looked again at Sheri then back to the woman. Acacia. And people thought Atreus was odd. He gave an up nod of his head " Hey " was offered from him now. Hearing what she said to Nash about what car and being delivered his eyes were back on Sheri's head turned from the other two as he silently Mouth " Uppity ". yeah now there was no way she was gonna have him think otherwise after that -d-
lead her not: She smiled at the brunette, giving her a nod, about to say something along the lines of 'yes, we are', but that was when Tre decided to say the place was 'uppity' and now it was her turn to have the corners of her mouth twitch with amusement. "This is Tre," she said, introducing them, and then under her breath, to him, "It is not." And she'd nudge him playfully with her knee. –d
acaciaincognito: Since it was silent and mouthed, she couldn’t retort. Ergo, she still held the polite smile with her focus on Sheri as they exchanged casual greetings. Flick of pale gaze to Tre with the introduction and his up nod that went with it. A scant inclination of her head that was a passable nod of greeting, taking up her glass. "Good evening, Tre. " Looking to Nash, she indicated with words and the minimal hand gesture to go with it. "Nash, this is Sheri and...Tre. You two, the is Nash" And Patrick was looked to and a brief smile tugged on her lips "And for extra tips, he is Jorge" –d
Nash Lighter: The image of the car on her phone was all the communication needed, and when Nash picked it up, he nodded. "Nice." It was a damned fine piece of machinery, but not something you'd have as much control with as a car with a true manual trans in it. Like most cars of its class, it was made for guys with more money than sense. Then again, he probably had as much money in his Skyline as this thing cost out the door of the dealership, so... yeah, he was just as guilty in that regard. He smiled at the couple and gave a nod. "Nash, good to meet you." And when Patrick was introduced as Jorge, Nash looked up between the three of them and back to Patrick who just shrugged and grinned, and gave them all an "It stuck." explanation.
TheDriftingHowl: He of course meant the bar. He liked his pool hall back home. The kind of place a fight a night was expected . Uppity places weren't always bad. They had uppity biker like ones all over places lik Vegas afterall. " How goes " was said too and glad he found out it was evening before mun suggested something of sun outside or the like. Anywho. "Ya'll regulars from these parts? Just got in town last weekend. Tryin' to see what fun can be had here" He said with a smile but of course his fun and other people's fun may be very very very different. When Jorge was suggested for a tip he shook his head "No.. I like Trick better " -d-
lead her not: "Nice to meet you, Nash," she said as their drinks were brought to them. She knew their meals would be coming shortly after because she could smell them and the scent was making her stomach rumble more than it had been. When Tre started talking, she sat back, hazel eyes, more blue than gold, flickering between him and them as she listened, waiting to see what the others would say in response. –d
acaciaincognito: "No. I'm from New York. The only thing close to fun I've found is this place...and my dog rather likes the park" But her idea of fun ranged from dive bars to making CEO's have nightmares. Sooo, she honestly had no idea what to suggest for the guy. She grinned to Nash at his comment about the image on the phone she showed him, speaking softly as she added to the verbally limited exchange. "Could be interesting" –d
Nash Lighter: "If you want to call him Trick, there's a fifty dollar service fee on every order." Nash smirked and then looked out toward the lot toward his car. To say he loved his car was a bit of an understatement. With all wheel drive and all wheel steering, the R34 was so maneuverable, it would literally take another car smashing into the ass of the thing to make it lose control. Looking back at Tre, he shook his head. "Just got into town myself, from LA by way of Miami."
TheDriftingHowl: He gave a slow nod to both their answers before he turned to Sheri. "So.. no one lives here and everyone is a tourist.. why did you wanna live here? " He said with a smirk, looking back to Patrick "Not a fan? I knew a Patrick when I was younger we all called Trick. Boy. " he shook his head with a slight grin " Turned out to be appropriate as all hell. Man was a prankster for life " he said. taking a long sip of that Angry Orchard and Fireball whiskey combo before setting it down onto the counter again. "Parks can be fun " he said looking at his glass speaking to himself before looking back to the other two -d-
Nash Lighter: "According to my brother, there's plenty of parks around. Lots of hiking, boating, he's had some good stories about the place." Now if he could only find his brother...
lead her not: "Because I can wear my leather jacket in July?" She looked at him with one of those smiles that he had to know would get her, her way with many a man before him. But maybe that's why she liked him so much. He wasn't as easily swayed by her charms no matter how much he appreciated them. Patrick/Jorge was just chuckling to himself, listening to them all talk. Hey, what did he care, right? So long as they kept the tips coming he'd let them keep talking. When he said parks could be fun, she quirked a brow. She thought she knew what he meant, but still, she was looking at him questioningly, seeing if she was right? "Running?" She said it softly, even though the other two would have no idea she meant on all fours. –d
acaciaincognito: Ace toyed with the book shaped ornate charm dangling from her necklace. Ugh, running. She was not a fan. Of course could be that she equated running with being chased and it seemed just an inefficient way to survive. Thank the gods for magic, even if she was still slightly judgey about those people that woke up ass early to run in circles before the day got started. She'd take vampires over marathoners any day. –d
TheDriftingHowl: Food was served up and he'd give a nod of his head before looking at Sheri " What's not to like. Give or take on the park you can run, fish, chill lake side, picnic, feed ducks" or eat them. Don't judge the wolf " bike.. hike.. swim. Kite.. or now a days the punks with their drones. " He said shaking his head before looking at Nash " All sounds good to me " -d-
Nash Lighter: "Those fuckers are everywhere." Nash nodded. "Had one get too close a couple weeks back, thought he'd get this really cool shot of some street racers and drifted right into him before he could get his shit out of the way." Nash paused, "I think he may have been distracted by a girl." It happened. They were pretty much half naked at races. Well, it was Miami. This time of year, they were expected to be half naked, just to avoid the heat.
acaciaincognito: For 2.5 seconds she thought those 'fuckers' were the ducks. Just had to take a minute not to laugh, though quietly offering thanks to Jorge when the food arrived. If Nash was a vegetarian, he could rant. But she'd ordered burgers and fries to keep it simple. "Drones have their purpose. Granted most of them nefarious, but still a useful bit of tech" Taking up a French fry for a bite –d
lead her not: Oh, she'd never judge her wolf. Though the day she saw him eat a duck she might shed a few tears in her human form -- poor ducky. Anyhoo... Their food came and there went Sheri, making her plate look like a crime scene with all the ketchup. Before Jorge could walk away she, she called out, "Can I get some mayo, please?" See, Tre. Your lil' Cherry was being polite. Not only did she want to put some on her burger, but she liked dipping her fries in it as well. "Well, since you like lakes so much, maybe we should find a place near one," she suggested. She wouldn't mind living by the water, so long as there were some woods to go with it for privacy and all. "Don't get me wrong, I don't mind shacking up in the lodge with you, but a little more space would be nice and I'm thinking TC would appreciate having me out of his hair." He'd been nice, taking her in and teaching her, but she'd been a responsibility he didn't need and now that Tre was around, why should she continue to bother him? When Nash started talking, she looked his way, having thought the same thing as Acacia. And she started laughing when she realized she was wrong. –d
TheDriftingHowl: Tre thought the same too. But. He was more confused when it turned out to be the drones he talked about. Those ducks are fuckers.. always in your face. Quacking like they own the place. Bitches. Wait what. Right. "For pervs " he said when Acacia mentioned drones and purpose. " Spy tools. Government or to look in some girls window. No good comes from drones. Specially civilian " He said. May was never questioned in fact. He was asking for a side of ranch todip his fries in. The one's not drowning in in chili in cheese -d-
lead her not: She nudged his leg, as if to say, "Well?" Giving him this look, like she wasn't going to let him get away with saying anything about it. –d
Nash Lighter: "Oh, we've had some kick ass footage of races due to drones but this fucker was just not paying attention and I creamed it. " Nash shrugged. "Not my fault his GoPro was toast, he should have kept it out of the lane." Nash was putting his pickles on his burger, and then he reached for the bottle of ketchup to add a huge glop of that to his plate. He licked his fingers and then put the top of his bun on, before picking it up and taking a bite.
lead her not: The house, that is.
acaciaincognito: Tidy burger, nothing on her fries and well..yeah, she asked for a knife and cut the burger into 4ths for easier handling. Though not really digging in until she had a napkin draped over her lap. "That is assuredly a downfall. But using it in search and rescue operations on land, or locating livestock on massive properties, surveying land..to name a few things. People will always corrupt what they can. It doesn't make the tool dark, just the user" Hearing about the GoPro smash, she laughed softly. "Hopefully the footage was still good. I bet it would be interesting to watch the moment of impact" –d
lead her not: From out of the corner of her eye, Sheri could see her cutting the burger into...fourths? It caused her to blink. She'd never in her life seen anyone eat a burger like that before, but there was a first for everything, wasn't there? Without a word about it, she went about picking up her big ol' messy burger with both hands and sank her teeth right into it. –d
Nash Lighter: Nash looked at Ace, a double take given, and then he was chuckling and suckling the ketchup off his thumb. No he wasn't a heathen, he just happened to enjoy his food in a very robust manner. Once his mouth was clear, he shrugged. "Don't know, but the guy was pretty pissed at me."
TheDriftingHowl: He'd ask for the food to go " What.. yeah.. lake house does sound good. Got some stuff need to handle first " He said. Looking to the other two. " Sorry to cut this short. Just realized something. " He said he'd pay the bill with around 30 % tip. Helping Sheri up once all was packaged up he'd nod " We'll be around again sooner or later I'm sure " He said Stepping outside he would put his food into the side bag. Straddling the bike, he'd wait for her to get on. Once she was he put the stand up and started her. Driving off -d-
acaciaincognito: She was apparently oblivious to her odd eating habits being amusing, or she just had lvl 99 no worries skills. "I’d probably be pissed too" Grinning just a bit. As the guy got up to leave, she turned her attention to Sheri "It was nice seeing you again. " Another bite taken of that quarter of her burger Not as enthusiastically as the others, but she was enjoying it! –d
Nash Lighter: "Catch you later, man." Nash gave a nod up as they left and then he went back to his burger. Face it, that was some tasty cow. Those dudes in India had no clue what they were missing.
lead her not: Seeing as he was in a hurry all of a sudden, she could only imagine what came up, but she knew better than to question it. Instead, she nodded and let Jorge pack up their food and then she was on her way out the door with him, but not before saying goodbye to the other two. "Take care," she said to them both with a wave before making her way out to the bike with Tre. -d
