Wrinkled Black: Grayson was finally his healthy, happy go lucky self once more, so mom and dad were having a much needed date night. Adrienne pulled the Tesla into the lot--sorry, she just really enjoyed driving it!--and parked away from any other cars. Once it was in park she stepped out and took a deep breath, grinning. "I love our son more than anything, but it's kinda nice to get out of the house. Does that make me a bad mom?"
Alex Vipond: "No, that makes you a mother striving for sanity." he chuckled and leaned over, a kiss dropped to her lips before he pulled the door open and slid out. Rounding the nose of the car, he opened Adrienne's door and offered her his hand. "All mom and no play makes for a cranky wife to be."
Wrinkled Black: Her eyes narrowed at him and she refused his hand, instead getting out on her own and folding her arms across her stomach. "You callin' me cranky?"
Alex Vipond: "I'm saying we're all going to be cranky if we don't get some R&R in." He smiled when she refused to take his hand and leaned in. Not touching her, just resting his hand to the roof of the car as he leaned toward her close enough that she could count the hairs on his face. All what? Three of them?
Wrinkled Black: A brow went up as she watched him, turning her head just enough that his nose was damn near in her ear. "...are you getting fingerprints on my baby?"
Alex Vipond: "Not yet, but I could work on it some." His voice was low, husky when he spoke. With her ear just right there, he had to close that distance just a touch, breath washing over the shell of her ear and the skin of her neck. "But I suppose I'll have to settle for a drink." He pushed from his lean and headed for the bar, one brow lifting as he glanced over his shoulder, and then continued toward the door of the pool hall.
Wrinkled Black: Well that was just cruel. Though, Adrienne walked right into that, the way she offered her ear like that. Fighting off a shiver, she cleared her throat quietly as she watched him turn away. Then she groaned. "Goddammiiiiit..." Pushing off the car, she caught up with Alex and slipped her arm around his, snickering. "You gonna let me buy?"
Alex Vipond: Smirking, because yes, he heard that, he chuckled when she caught up to him. "If you want to, I will do just that." Alex smiled and then dropped a kiss to her nose. Stepping up onto the curb, he crossed the walk with her and then pulled the door open, holding it for her.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne scrunched her nose at the kiss, almost as if it grossed her out, but she was grinning too much to really get away with it. "And dinner, too. And don't you go cheap date on me and order a salad." Pft, right, like that'd happen. Once they were inside and bar-bound, she gave Jorge/Patrick a wave.
Alex Vipond: "I will save the rabbit food for the rabbits." Chuckling, he gave Jorge, who yes, his name was really Patrick, and no one was really sure how that started anymore but it was kind of funny so they kept it up, a wave as well. "We will be drinking and eating and the lady is buying because she doesn't want me to." He nodded.
Wrinkled Black: Laughing, she settled on a stool and nodded to Jorge when he gestured to the Glenmorangie. "That's because he rarely lets me." And because she was oh so mature, she stuck her tongue out at Alex. "So there."
Alex Vipond: Alex was ever so mature as well, his own tongue stuck out to the side, and his eyes crossed at her. And then he smacked the side of his head with the heel of his hand and uncrossed his eyes. Looking at Jorge, he chuckled. "Thanks, man."
Wrinkled Black: Okay, that had her cracking up. "You are such a dork, babe." Snickering, she leaned to press a kiss to Alex's temple before glancing down at the menu. "Two burgers, one with fries and one with rings?" Brows lifted at Alex, just in case he wanted to break from the norm. They were sickeningly sweet.
Alex Vipond: "Yessssss." Frings! The best thing ever. "So, what do you think about a show, end of the month beginning of next, maybe Studio 7? Nothing major just a set."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, lifting her glass for a sip. He was so easy. Brows lifted at the mention of a show and she grinned. "Hell yeah! It's been far too long." Granted, they'd been understandably busy.
Alex Vipond: Hella busy but it was a good busy. "And Grayson's old enough now, he could probably go with us, I'm just not sure we would want to take him, even though the place is family friendly." For one, he'd have to have his little ear protection, which would likely cover his entire head.
Wrinkled Black: "Hmm.." Adrienne's mouth slanted slightly as she thought about it. "Maybe if we keep him backstage. It does get pretty crowded in there." Get enough people packed in the place and it could be a recipe for disaster. "Though he does need more use out of his headphones..." The kid was freaking adorable in them on the 4th.
Alex Vipond: "I'm sure we can figure something out." Grayson with his headphones on, and his I'm With The Band onesie.... He'd be killing it. Alex chuckled, just picturing it. "Maybe just a five song set."
Avery J Keller: It had been a long day and all Avery wanted to do was have a drink (or seven) and forget everything that had happened that day. As she walked in the door she caught a glimpse of someone all too familiar. There was no way, it couldn't be. She had been up for almost 24 hours and her eyes were playing tricks.
Wrinkled Black: She watched him, snickering. "I can already tell I'm going to be overruled if I say no.." She smirked, glancing to the woman who appeared to be starstruck. After her time with Alex so far, she was kind of used to it. But then she realized the woman was looking at her and she did a double-take, eyes widening.
Alex Vipond: It happened, so much so that he carried a Sharpie with him at all times, but this one was looking at Adrienne, and Alex was about to say something, when he caught Adrienne's expression. One brow rose and he looked between the two, watching them like a spectator at Wimbledon watching a match.
Avery J Keller: After Avery realized she had been staring for probably a little too long she shook her head and let her eyes focus. They weren't playing tricks and a slow smile started to creep across her face.
Wrinkled Black: Deep down, Adrienne was panicking, waiting for the woman to freak out about the fact that she had hardly aged a day in thirteen (?) years. But then...neither had she. Finally Adrienne was laughing, tilting her head to look at the woman better. "Kendra?!"
Avery J Keller: She was still stuck in her spot, unable to move. Her mind was racing at what she going to say about why she had a different name, why hadn't she aged. She snapped out of it when she heard her name. "Adrienne!"
Alex Vipond: "Wait... Kendra? The Kendra?" Alex was grinning, ear to ear as he regarded the woman and then he was laughing. "Holy shit!" Looking at Jorge, he grinned. "She's the reason Adrienne and I met. Get her whatever she wants and put it on our tab..."
Wrinkled Black: "Oh my God!" She couldn't help it; Adrienne got off her stool and gave her old friend a hug. It was then that she noticed the scent. It was different. She pulled back, studying her, but she didn't ask. There would definitely be some explaining to do--from both parties--but for now, introductions needed to be made. Grinning sheepishly, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Uuuhm...you remember Alex Vipond, yeah?" She would hope so!
Avery J Keller: Avery hugged her back but noticed something was different. She brushed it off though. Of course something was different thirteen years had gone by. She was more thrown off by the site of Alex. Of Couse.... how could I forget that face! she continued to smile and then remembered why she was there drinks! She quickly ordered two shots of Patron.
Alex Vipond: Grinning, Alex rose from his bar stool and gave her a hug as well. "It's good to see you, what do you want to drink? You want something to eat? We just ordered burgers." When she ordered, Alex nodded. "God, you don't know how much I want to thank you!"
Wrinkled Black: Alex was gushing, and quite frankly, it was kind of adorable. Adrienne laughed, returning to her stool. "We happened to bump into each other at a diner over a year ago, and he actually remembered me from that show you dragged me to." A wink was given to Alex for that.
Avery J Keller: "Thank me?" was about all Avery was able to choke out. Sure it had been thirteen years and she had grown up but it was still Alex Vipond.
Alex Vipond: "Not every day you meet the name sake of one of your songs." Alex chuckled, and then reached for his drink, taking a sip, even as Jorge sent Kendra's drinks down for her. "Yes. If it weren't for you dragging her to my show all those years ago, I wouldn't be about to marry the love of my life." He grinned at her. "So thank you, from the bottom of my heart."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne was actually blushing a little, reaching for her own drink to take a gulp of. "Nor would he be my baby daddy now." Her grin turned sheepish again. "Sorry.."
Avery J Keller: "I didn't drag you anywhere, you thoughtfully volunteered to come along and keep me safe." At least that was the story Avery was going with. She slammed down her two shots and asked for two more. "With a pineapple back please."
Wrinkled Black: "Well, the tickets were in my name." She chuckled, shaking her head. "But enough about that.. you're in Seattle! Are you living up here now, or just visiting?" What she really wanted to know was the story of that wolfish scent to her, but there was a time and a place for that conversation; now and here weren't it.
Avery J Keller: Avery spit half her shot back into the glass "I'm sorry did you say baby daddy?" After she composed herself she pulled her shirt up just enough for the gold of her badge to catch the light. "Newly transferred. I moved a few months ago up here from Chicago" "And you?" She could feel Adrienne looking at her.
Wrinkled Black: The delayed reaction and spitting had Adrienne flinching a little. Call her Bo Peep, she was going to be looking sheepish all night. "I did, yes." She grinned at Alex, and then looked back to Kendra. "I moved up here last year, from San Diego." When she had to pack up and assume a new identity, but that was for another conversation. "Alex has been up here for a few years now."
Alex Vipond: Alex cracked up and nodded and yes, he was pulling his phone out like any proud daddy and pulling up his pictures of Grayson. "Grayson Alexander, born the 17th of January." he held the phone out to Kendra. "Yeah, I moved up in '12." This time. But again, that was for another conversation.
Avery J Keller: "Well congrats!" "This round is on me!" Avery had to be careful though. She hadn’t been Kendra for a few years now and this was not the time or place to have that conversation. She smiled at the picture "He is handsome and it looks like he got his looks from his mom."
Wrinkled Black: Yeah, Adrienne's grin was pretty proud as well. "Thank you! And see? I told you so." Her tongue was stuck out at Alex again, being a brat.
Alex Vipond: Alex cracked up. "Yeah well, he has my talent." As if the kid was some kind of musical prodigy. "Or may have, if his lung capacity is any indication." Smirking he took another sip of his drink and then as their food hit the bar, he reached out to pluck an onion ring from one of the plates, popping it into his mouth, only to have to huff air around it to keep from burning himself.
Wrinkled Black: You'd think he'd learn by now.
Alex Vipond: One would think...
Avery J Keller: As much as Avery wanted to stay she knew she had to get out there; she motioned for Jorge and asked for her tab. "Well I'm glad I ran into you guys" As she got up from her seat she moved towards Adrienne to give her a hug goodbye. "We should do this again. Soon..."
Wrinkled Black: "Hey, it's on us." Grinning, she gave her friend a tight squeeze. "We definitely need to get caught up." And how! With a grin to Alex, she reached into his pocket for his Sharpie, then jotted down her cell phone number on a napkin for Kendra. "Call me, and we'll get together, okay?"
Alex Vipond: "Come to the house on Sunday, we do dinner every Sunday, you should come." Alex nodded and was about to pull over a bar napkin, even as Adrienne slipped that Sharpie out of his hip pocket. "Call us and we'll leave your name at the gate so the guards will let you through."
Avery J Keller: Avery took the sharpie and wrote down her number as well "Absolutely." She walked around and gave Alex a hug as well. "I will think about it" she called as she made her way to the door. She turned around and gave one last smile and wave before she left
Wrinkled Black: Taking the napkin Kendra wrote on, Adrienne studied it for a moment before she watched her friend leave. Her gaze remained on the door as she lowered her voice. "Well that's a new development.."
Alex Vipond: The hug was returned and then he was looking at Adrienne. His own voice dropped to that frequency below human hearing. "The wolf scent?"
Wrinkled Black: She nodded, frowning slightly. "She was one hundred percent human last time I saw her."
Alex Vipond: "Well when we get her to a more private setting, you can ask." He smiled as he took her hand. "Wolf or not, she's fine and she's here. Now the both of you can open up. And who knows, maybe she needs a friend in the know, someone to confide in that's not going to either think she's crazy or lock her up and run lab tests on her."
Wrinkled Black: "Yeah..." Adrienne nodded slowly, her hand squeezing his. She eventually turned to look at Alex and she couldn't help a laugh. "Seriously, what the fuck are the odds?! First you, now Kendra!" Who the hell else was she going to bump into in Seattle? ...actually, she didn't want to know.
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, he shook his head. "This town is a magnet." One could probably find some kind of correlation between the supernatural and ley lines, and high concentrations of paranormal activity but really, face it, for his kind at least, it was the climate.
Wrinkled Black: She shook her head as well. "Unfreakingreal." Snickering, she finally took up her burger so she could take a few bites. "Y'know..." Swallow. "At first when she came in I thought she was gawking at you. Almost made me jealous."
Alex Vipond: "That was all you." Alex chuckled. "Made me jealous. Who is this chick staring at my woman?" Leaning over, Alex dropped a kiss to her cheek, and then yes, he wiped the smudge off that he'd left.
Wrinkled Black: "What, you mean the thought of a threesome didn't flash through your head like most men?" She was pretty sure she knew the answer to that one, but she still had to tease him.
Alex Vipond: "Nooooo..." Alex shook his head and then contemplated that. "Wait, does that mean there's something wrong with me? Am I abnormal?"
Wrinkled Black: "Absolutely not." Chuckling, she leaned in to return the kiss to his cheek, but instead she snagged his chin and turned his face toward her so their lips met instead. "It means you're not a pig."
Alex Vipond: Smiling, he nuzzled her lips with his and then kissed her again. "Only on Halloween if we're doing farm animals as a theme."
