Wrinkled Black: Well, as was expected, the fireworks had been canceled due to the weather, but the Main Street Electrical Parade was still on in another hour. Thanks to their VIP status, a spot was saved for them at the Main Street station, so they didn't have to wait for ages in order to have a good spot. Despite said weather, that didn't stop Adrienne from wanting a Dole whip over by the Tiki room. Leaning against the rail of the bridge that led from Main Street to Adventureland, she was grinning around the straw of the frozen treat like a kid at....well...Disneyland! "We seriously need to do this more often."
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, Alex nodded. "That we do. As often as possible." He was sipping his own drink, watching the braver souls as they passed by but mostly he was grinning like a kid, in their Disney swag. "If it's not raining tomorrow, we'll bring Grayson for the kiddie rides. If it is raining..." He grinned around his straw.
Wrinkled Black: "Then we'll go on the kiddie rides ourselves." Beam! Grinning, she leaned into him for a light bump. Gawd she loved this guy. "I saw that it's supposed to clear up for a few hours in the afternoon, so it should work out. Don't need to overwhelm him anyway." One of the many joys of staying at the resort!
Alex Vipond: "Exactly!" Still grinning, the bump returned and then he nodded. "Short stints for the short Vipond." He set his cup down and then looked around again before leaning over to drop a kiss to her lips. "Just because." Smiling at her, he then straightened mouth seeking that straw again to slurp the frozen concoction.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, returning the kiss with frozen lips. Tasty, though! "I love you." Not like she needed to remind him, but she did as often as she could. Her grin widened as she people watched, particularly a family passing by with their little girl dressed as Princess Aurora, complete with a Bibbity Bobbity Boutique makeover. Too. Freaking. Cute. "I can't wait to be able to bring our whole brood here." You know, once they actually had a brood.
Alex Vipond: "Oh, definitely." Alex grinned and waved at the little girl as the family passed by. "Just think, in a few years, that will be our daughter." No, he wasn't going to start swiping kids, he just couldn't wait for them to have a daughter to bring and get dressed up as her favorite princess.
Wrinkled Black: "Except ours will be dressed as Belle." Sage nod before sipping her float.
Alex Vipond: "Definitely not Pocahontas." Not because he had a thing against Native Americans but that costume was skimpy.
Wrinkled Black: Snickering, she shook her head. "No. Nor Tinkerbell, unless it's one of those longer tutu type skirts." Otherwise, it was just way too short. "Aaw." Just the thought had her grinning and dropping her head to his shoulder. "We need to stop talking about this. Every time we do our gap between kids gets shorter and shorter."
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, he nodded, an arm slipping around her. "Yes, yes it does." Two years ago, he never would have considered one, let alone a whole brood. "So, we stopping at a baseball team, or football team?" One brow rose as
Alex Vipond: he turned his head, leaning it back a little to see her there on his shoulder.
Wrinkled Black: "Mmm.." Her nose scrunched a little. "I was thinking more along the lines of....uhm..." Thinking of a smaller team her. "A bobsled team?" And then she was cracking up. "I don't know, really. I mean...we could stop for a while, then have some more forty years down the road." That last part was muttered quietly, even though it was unlikely anyone could've heard her.
Alex Vipond: "Oooh, we can do the whole Jamaican bobsled team thing. Take them to the Bahamas to teach them how to sled." he nodded, snickering, his fingertips lightly caressing the sleeve of her hoodie.
Wrinkled Black: Her eyes rolled but she was laughing. "You are such a dork. C'mon, Irv Blitzer." She reached for those caressing fingertips and took his hand, pushing off the rail and leading him back toward Main Street. The crowds were gathering for the parade and their VIP guide met them half-way. Poor kid would've been freaking out if their seats were saved but then they didn't show up. And there may or may not have been a skip to Adrienne's step.
Alex Vipond: Fingers lacing with her own, he took one last, noisy slurp from his drink and tossed the now empty cup into the first trash bin they passed. Hands swinging between them, Alex was grinning, enjoying every moment. "Can't believe I never came here before us. But in a way, I'm glad."
Wrinkled Black: "I can't either, actually. Mr. Claiming to Be From SoCal." She snickered, leaning in to press a kiss to his cheek. Their bench was right in front of the Main Street station, roped off with blankets waiting for them. Thanking their guide, Adrienne lifted the blanket and settled on the bench, draping the blanket over their laps. "You haven't truly experienced Disneyland until you've experienced the Main Street Electrical Parade."
Alex Vipond: "Got my girl to experience it with for the first time, so I think it was well worth the wait." He settled beside her, the blanket adjusted and then he dropped a kiss to her lips as his arm slid around her shoulders once more.
Wrinkled Black: She smiled warmly, returning the kiss before snuggling in closer to him. Since they were at the end of the parade route, she made herself comfortable by propping her feet up on the railing. "I can't wait to see Grayson's face when he sees this." It was only a limited engagement, so she was going to make damn certain he watches it during this trip, even if it means camping out under an umbrella. After a nice long nap, of course.
Alex Vipond: Yes, because him conking out before it starts would suck ass. "Oh, definitely." He grinned. "Even if we have to get one of those bubble umbrella things that come down over the shoulders."
Wrinkled Black: "And a poncho." She sat up slightly, looking over her shoulder to where there was a gift shop. Did they make baby ponchos? Not like she could see from here anyway. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Turning back around, Adrienne grinned widely, giving Alex a light 'this is it!' nudge with her elbow. Disneyland proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and illumination, in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. The Main Street Electrical Parade! And the crowd went ape-shit, including Adrienne, whooping in excitement and throwing a fist up in the air. How old is she again..?
Alex Vipond: Alex actually gave a dog house salute, not that he was a Cleveland Browns fan but what the hell? Might as well. And he was hollering along with Adrienne.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne just laughed, shaking her head, as she snuggled in close and simply enjoyed. Not just the parade, but Alex watching the parade, just as she was going to enjoy watching Grayson the next day. One at a time so she could truly enjoy both. She ooohed and aahed along with the rest of the crowd, laughing when Tinker Bell made her appearance. Speak of the devil? "I think that's newer..." But the rest was gloriously the same, even the Pinocchio bit, which made her shudder. "Creepy ass movie.."
Alex Vipond: Like a kid at Christmas, he was, and he was glad they had the view they did. "This shit is awesome!" And then he clapped his hand over his mouth and looked around, apologetic smiles given to those around them and then he was nodding to Adrienne. The movie was creepy. And the actual tale was a lot darker than the movie.
Wrinkled Black: Snickering, Adrienne shifted to pull her phone out of her pocket so that she could add another 'coin' to the swear jar app. It was a lot easier than raiding his wallet on a regular basis. As the parade wrapped up, people started following it down Main Street and toward the exit. The park was open for another half hour or so, so Adrienne wasn't really in a hurry to start moving just yet. Instead, she just basked in the glory that was the parade. "Man that thing is so awesome." Laughing, she leaned in to press a kiss to Alex's lips. "We're such children."
Alex Vipond: "It is." Alex nodded and laughed, then said, "We are." He dropped a kiss to her lips in response and then another and another, before settling back. "Man, we should live here. At least part of the year." He smirked.
Wrinkled Black: "I..." She thought about it a brief moment before nodding. "...would be okay with that. Split the year three ways, between here, Seattle, and Greenwich. With trips to the others here and there." Like Easter in Giove, a winter week or two in the Bahamas, etc. Had to make good use of all these houses!
Alex Vipond: Of course! "I'm so down with that. Don't get me wrong, I love Seattle but it does get a little cold and well, Disneyland!" he chuckled and dropped another kiss to her lips before finally, reluctantly, rising from the bench and the warmth of the blanket. "We should take this back to the hotel with us. Wrap up for the walk like purritos and take tiny steps."
Wrinkled Black: Eyes rolled but she was chuckling. "Goober." She wasn't arguing in the slightest, though, her arms curling around Alex's waist so that he could drape the blanket around them. The embrace would be a bit uncomfortable for the entire walk back to the hotel, but it was nice and cozy to start. "When I was going to USD, we had annual passes and would come up as often as we could." Snickering, she shook her head. "Of course, back then the passes cost about the same as a single day pass now."
Alex Vipond: Alex draped the blanket around them, one hand fisting it closed in front of them as the other arm slipped around her. "Yeah, everything's gone up. It's a shame, really that they're so...." he paused and looked at her. "We should start a fund for underprivileged kids. So they can come and visit."
Wrinkled Black: Her grin widened and she nodded. "I like the sound of that. Kind of like a Make A Wish program, but specifically for Disneyland trips? That would be awesome." Especially if they were able to join some of the kids, because sharing that experience with a kid is just freaking fantastic.
Alex Vipond: "Oh, we have to." He shifted control of the blanket to the hand around Adrienne, and yes he pulled her a little closer in the process. METHOD TO THE MADNESS! And then he was pulling his phone with the other hand and firing off a mass text to his lawyer and CPA. "Cool. We'll see how that works and arrange the particulars. Maybe hit some of the local shelters and orphanages. See if they can recommend kids in need of some Disney Magic."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne couldn't help laughing as he was so quick to whip out the phone. She snuggled in close, leaning just enough so she could read what he was texting. She's his wife, she's allowed to be nosey, right? When he was done, she snagged his hoodie and pulled him in for a kiss. "I love you, you know." That was muttered against his lips before kissing him again. It wasn't too inappropriate since they were in the middle of dozens of families, but there was definitely promise in it.
Alex Vipond: He did so enjoy those kisses and when she was done kissing him; he nuzzled her lips and then nodded. "I love you too." Tucking his phone back into his pocket, he shifted his grasp of the blanket back to the other hand so the hand around her could slip to her waist. As they reached the hotel, he nodded to the doorman as they stepped inside.
Wrinkled Black: She smiled to the man as well and when they stepped into the elevator, she tightened her arms around him, but instead of kissing him--like she very much wanted to--she settled her head against his shoulder. "We're at Disney, we have to behave."
Alex Vipond: "Yes, no love in an elevator." he nodded. "Yeah, I so don't want to be banned from Disney. So yes, I am being have." He leaned against the back wall with her after punching in their floor, muttering under his breath the entire trip up. "Being have, being have, being have, being have...."
Wrinkled Black: "That'd lead to instant divorce." Liptwitch. "I simply can't be married to a man banned from freaking Disneyland." His muttering had her snickering and she glanced downward. "Good boy."
Alex Vipond: "Can I get a Scooby snack and a scritch behind the ears when we get to the room?" As the doors slid open, he pushed from his lean and guided Adrienne out, one hand pulling his keycard from his hip pocket as they made their way down the hall.
Wrinkled Black: "Hmm, kinky." She was grinning, though, giving his side a playful pinch. "Fine, but keep your tail thumping quiet, we don't want to wake Gray or Rosaria." Because that could be awkward.
Alex Vipond: Cracking up, he nodded. "I will do my best to keep it quiet." He leaned, dropped a kiss to her lips and then was sliding the keycard into the reader. Opening the door, he swept her up and carried her inside.
