Alex waited until midnight before heading for the Cathedral. He could have driven, but instead walked the two and a half miles to the Renaissance styled house of God. He stood at the bottom of the steps, looking up at the doors, a moment's reflection given. Save for the breeze that tousled his hair, and tugged at his scarves, one might think him a statue, as still as he was, but then he was moving, making his way to the doors and inside.
He paused at the font and regarded it a long moment, before dipping the tips of his fingers within. Each time, he expected to be burned, and each time he was not. Why he wasn't certain. Was it what remained of his faith? Had God forgiven him his sins? How could God do such, when he, himself, could not?
He crossed himself and then moved deeper, to light three candles for friends, and one for the pilot, who were lost this day, fifty four years ago. Lowering to his knees, he offered up a silent prayer for the souls of those who had been lost that cold day when the music died. How long he knelt there he wasn't certain but by the time he crossed himself again and rose, he turned to come face to face with a priest.
The two stood looking at each other for a long moment, before Alex nodded. "Father."
To the Priest's credit, he found his voice rather swiftly. "Go with God, my son."
Alex started past him, a nod given. "If He will have me." Continuing past, he left the priest looking bewildered, and offering up a blessing to Alex's retreating back.

Alex Vipond: Most of those of his kind shied away from such places. Alex however, did not. There were a few times, each year that he would visit. Special dates, people to be remembered, either on their birth or in some instances, their death. The current remembrance was a young man, a Cuban, on the 1975 fencing team who, due to a terrorist attack, died in a rather horrific plane crash. It was a wonder really, that Alex flew at all. Afternoon Mass was over, evening Mass had yet to start, it was the perfect time. Looking at Uriah, he paused on the steps, leading to the ornate doors. "You don't have to go in with me, if you don't want to."
Condemned Legacy: Uriah sat in the passenger seat and looked over to Alex. Brows arched as he glanced between Alex and the church and then back before they were both stepping out of the car and climbing the steps. It had been a long, long time since Uriah had found himself within the walls of a church. "Alex... I don't think it’s a good idea for you to go in there." Uriah was unaware of a few things that Alex had yet to share it seemed. "You realize what this place is right? It's not exactly a place where your kind like to visit or hang out. For obvious reasons." Uriah was expecting the man to burst into flames the moment he would come to cross that thresh hold. The Brit stood a few steps back and down below Alex, behind him. Hands shoved deep into those dress pants. The man was always dressed to perfection it seemed, very rarely seen in anything other than a three piece suit. –d
A beast at heart: - It was becoming more of a comfort habit than anything. She had never resented the church though she felt that they didn't really encompass the entirety of the story. What she was proof of that wasn't it? Though recently she had found a certain comfort there. Knelt down she appeared no different, coming between Mass if only to keep to her solitude. Something else she had become very good at recently. Her palms pressed together and finger's interlaced she was silent. Black hair done in two thick braids on either side of her head. Slate gray tunic was pulled tight to her waist by a black belt leaving her legs wrapped in leggings and boots. Plain jane as ever. Though she wasn't as alone as she would like to be. She never was......
A beast at heart: Lux stayed in the back of the stuffy...dark...dreary place. She was by no mean's judging. She knew that Anna wasn't prepared to give in to the true guidance that wanted so desperately to save her. Yet she sat idle. Easily missed in the back. Her presence was even muted given the surroundings she was in. Looking far more human that she usually allowed herself. Her hands folded silently. Taking in the view- d
Condemned Legacy: Uriah didn't like the idea that his friend was putting himself into danger. Everyone knew the damned were forbidden to enter unto Holy places or cross Holy ground. Invited or not. "Seriously ... I don't think you want me calling your wife and explaining to her that you've come to be some beastly crispy piece of... " He shook his head. "You get the bloody picture... "Uriah said with a bit of concern and conviction. Not to mention... he didn't want or need Alex's true death on his conscience. –d
Alex Vipond: "Yes. St James Cathedral. Built in 1907, underwent major renovations in 1916, 1950 and 1994. It was designated a city landmark in 1984. The current Rector is the Very Reverent Michael Ryan." Alex nodded as he regarded him, a nod given. "I have been here before." Alex pointed up. "Relax. Someone up there likes me." He smirked and headed for the doors, a moment's pause given before he opened it and stepped inside. If Uriah was freaking out over Alex stepping foot into the Cathedral, he'd really freak out as Alex dipped his fingers into the font and crossed himself. A beast at heart: - slow cant of her head as the silence was disrupted by the opening of the doors. Places like this tended to echo to their own right. Soft inhale had her dark gaze landing on the familiar frame. She didn't interupt only observed. It was possibly just as strange for her to be here as it was for him. Yet here they all were for one reason or another- d
Condemned Legacy: " Oi.... if I were what you were, even I don't have the bloody bollocks to tempt fate like this..." And that was saying a lot, considering Uriah could be downright forward and bold. Brows arched as Alex turned to face him, replied then turned back to head up the rest of the way, opened the doors and moved inside. Uriah waited... grimaced even... but then... nothing happened. Flabbergasted, Uriah climbed the remaining steps and slowly followed in behind Alex, but kept distance... you know, in case there was some delayed reaction. "Well bloody blow me..." Uriah's gazed up and around and then back to his buddy Alex. How in the hell did Alex pull this off? Uriah, for a long moment, stood at the doors as they closed behind him. He sort of cleared his throat and moved to the nearest pew, sliding into a seat. Given what he was able to do, there were some spirits that even dwelled in churches. However, at the moment, none seemed present. Attention turned back to Alex. Uriah was still trying to make sense of all this. –d
Alex Vipond: Uriah's commentary caused an upward twitch of his lips but he moved down the nave to the shrine of the Virgin. There he crossed himself once more and lowered to his knees, and a candle was lit for a young man named Diego whose life was cut entirely too short. Hands folded, Alex bowed his head.
A beast at heart: - The sound had not escaped her it actually caused her eyelids to lift. Pushing to her feet she would move down to the center glancing at Alex a moment. She hadn't seen him in quite some time. She didn't disrupt him instead she moved along quietly her hands folded in front of her briefly she was somewhat figity her arms crossing over her chest soon after that. stopping at that back pew where Lux sat quietlly. Hazel gaze lingering...
A beast at heart: Meeting Anna's gaze she would shake her head and sigh. When she spoke it was quietly- " Feel any better?" - She seemed genuine but she could tell Anna didn't believe so. She would respect her choices. Even if she didn't understand them- d
Condemned Legacy: There was a glance across the aisle as Uriah thought he saw something or someone, move from the corner of his eye. Head slowly turned in its direction. It at first left him puzzled, but then he thought he was seeing a familiar face. Brows arched "Lux?" he asked quietly. More for himself really rather than speaking aloud where he heard. And he had only seen the other female once before, with Leland was it? At the garage. In any case, they both got a nod of acknowledgement. –d
Alex Vipond: Crossing himself once more as he rose, Alex stepped back and left the shrine, moving back down the nave toward Uriah there in the back pew. He paused in step, a glance sent the women and then yes, he gave Uriah a double take. Hushed was his voice as he asked, "You two know each other?"
Placenia Hosea: Nice chapel. He thought even as a car pulled up into a parking space that was opened. One of his own drivers got out the car, the beauty of a man with soft baby locks of a dark brown shade exited the back, passenger seat standing at a height of six ft. What reason would someone of his own would wander about? Oh yeah. Some vampires did go to church in some irony-like way, there have been some in his time where they stood wearing crucifixes except, it was an atheist version. A mystery surrounded the beautiful male whose features was something straight of a painting on art gallergy walls. The shield tightened around him was not visible as it hid the lustful powers, the ardeur was like whispering in his ears to give a lick and a taste of anyone near, but he was being good very much so. Upon him was a red vest, a black oxford shirt underneath, and a pair of gray trousers. Around his neck was something out of the Aztecs, quite ancient as one could see. For those that could detect power, it had energy strumming from it that held a secret as to how he could by pass certain things. Not telling as to how it effects his defences which was up. Explore he did, his nostrils opened to detecting someone familiar. Sniff, sniff. Alex? He knew he was around here somewhere, but instead was admiring the scenery. A human male followed his lead, his driver came in acting like a servant. (d)
Condemned Legacy: Uriah's brows arched as he looked from the women to Alex when he returned and shook his head. "Look mate, I don't know what you've been drinking, but I'd suggest you find yourself another hobby... First walking up in a place like this and... while I'm gob smacked... I think you’re off your bloody trolly. Yes... we know each other or have you forgotten already? I came to your home? Voices? She appeared... she's also gone for a ride with us..yeah?" Uriah was beginning to think maybe Alex had been drinking a bit much on the ole Fae blood or something... –d
A beast at heart: - Lux would lean forward some looking around Anna who remained in the middle of the two for the time being- " Yes." - She nodded in slow greeting. She offered him an easy smile. There was nothing about this place that weighed on her it was nothing more than a dusty building that was put together very well. While she respected what it was there wasn't that connect that perhaps the other's had. Then there wouldln't be would there. Her very essence was something quite different and older. Though she could note the ripples in the air that came from each of the individual's present it was only something to take note of an appreciate. Her own was nearly extinguished by Anna's request of course. Though her skin still seemed to hold a certain shimmer while her gaze while dark held a light behind them that couldn't be denied. Another smile was given to Alex as she rose smoothing out the deep purple sun dress that flowed easily over her legs before leaning forward- " why are we all whispering?" - A brow arched. It wasn't like there was anyone else there was there? Save for the new presence that made himself known before even walking through the door. That had not been ignored either...
Alex Vipond: "Merde!" Alex shook his head. "No, of course. I'm simply somewhat addlepated. I had a late night, last night." And then his lips twitched, as he sung under his breath, "The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire...." He stopped and cleared his throat, then shrugged. "Sorry." His head came up and he looked toward the doors, one brow rising as he saw Hosea. "Okay, I know how I get away with it, but... not sure how he does." Curious.
A beast at heart: Her place of solitude had suddenly turned into anything but that. Sidestepping some returning gaze was thrown toward the entity. But she said nothing instead just tucked some hair behind her ear. Newly irritated with her shadow.-d
Condemned Legacy: Uriah tried not to appear rude and so he gave a small smile and nod to both Anna and Lux before gaze was about to return to Alex when... What in the bloody hell? Another? Okay... this was getting trippy. While he was sure Alex had a perfectly good reason or explanation for his ability to walk into a Church, to touch Holy water and not burst into flame and become the next man on fire for God... He found it very disturbing that another was capable of the same thing. No... Uriah wasn't a vampire... but he could definitely say he was damned, because of the company he kept. The others that were often surrounding him were unseen unless you had that Sixth sense. And right now, there was only one that was with Uriah at the moment, whispering into the Mediums ear like he always did, and informing the Brit of who or what entered or neared. It was like having y our own personal body guard. And they said the dead men don't speak.... Obviously, these people had never walked a day in the shoes of Uriah Sorrelli. The Brit simply stared and then settled back into his seat. "The world is going straight to hell in a bloody hand basket because the day has come where the damned are able to walk in to the bloody church...." Uriah knew not all Vampires were bad... but if the good ones were capable of this... they were in trouble if the bad ones could too. That meant there was little to no defense against them if and when it came time to protect one's self. Or did it? –d
Alex Vipond: "Speak for yourself, my soul is intact." Alex glanced around. The few people about were beginning to caste glances their way. "Maybe we should step outside though. I don't much care for drawing unnecessary attention." And they were doing a good deal of that. Just wait until Derrick's rooftop weather cam footage went viral. Whooo! Yeah he'd be damned then. Or... very popular.
A beast at heart: - She would listen nothing more and she wouldn't return the harsh gaze she was given only step forward to exit along with Anna if need be. She didn't look at Uriah as if he were pitiful on purpose only a reaction. Though she was soon moving after Anna. Much like a wraith behind her silent as ever as they exited the church. The only difference was that Lux came to a stop at the bottom of the steps while Anna kept walking. Once on the outside of the church: more of her presence was identifiable. That subtle hum in the air while more of that radiance began to return.- d
Condemned Legacy: Harsh gaze? Uriah must have missed that, but he did let his eyes follow both Anna and Lux before Alex made his suggestion. The Brit simply nodded and moved to stand. He however, didn't stay right behind Alex. He instead, headed in: the opposite direction, dipped his fingers in the fountain, crossed himself and asked for forgiveness before he turned on his heel after a few moments of lingering and then followed Alex out. Uriah doesn't want to know what's on cam. That's like Alex boasting! Uriah was going to need to go visit the local.... gentleman's club soon or something. It'd been too damn long. –d
Placenia Hosea: He hoped that the vampires he met that were the crazy types didn't see what he wore. One of the smart moves was to put what he found in an excavation site once, not that he ever stepped into the shoes of an Archaeologist while he did hire a few who dug up the very things that was older than Methuselah! It was also not such a wise idea to be walking around when those who thrives on power would take such chances. His driver sat in one of the pews staring up at some of the designs of the church. A hand swept the altar almost as if it attracted him closely. Closing his eyes, then opening them up again mouthing something about his mother and father. A healer devoted to such things, both strong in their beliefs. His father strict on his only son, mother sometimes disagreed with her husband feeling their boy never got to have a normal childhood. A childhood to go have fun or play ball with someone next door. (d)
Alex Vipond: Alex looked at Uriah, then the girls as they started out and was soon following them. People were starting to whisper and he didn't want to stick around to hear the whys and what for. Could be some recognized him, could be some realized what he was. Either way, it had all the potential to be Paris, either 2004, or 1326. Either way, it wasn't going to be good. He'd either have women following him into the men's room or a mob following him with pitchforks and torches. Neither was appealing, though granted one held slightly less dire consequences.
A beast at heart: - Newly alone on the outside of the church she tucked the almond strands behind her ear peering up at the exiting Alex as he was not far behind them. - " Hello again Alex" - Her smile was serene just as always- " Always a pleasure" Soft melody of a voice carried easily up to him- " I would appologize for Annalysse's behavior but I feel I cannot at this point" - She lingered at the bottom of the steps still looking quite out of place- d
Condemned Legacy: Once outside, Uriah gave a tug of his jacket and ran a hand through his hair. Then he was following Alex down the steps. They neared Lux and Anna, who... kept walking at this point. Brows arched. "Its nice to see you again, Lux." He offered. Generally, Uriah was a nice guy until you pissed him off. Then well, he could be a down right dick. He glanced up at the night sky, toward the moon and then back to Lux. –d
A beast at heart: " As always a pleasure to see you as well Uriah." - She offered him yet another smile. He was an interesting human being. That was certain though that was part of the fun of being here was learning the different abilities of a creature though to be so common. She also noticed his round about view looking up to the moon which only added to what stood before them now. It was nearly impossible not to notice. Especially when your senses were heightened as some were. The soft eminent glow that seemed to exist, not so much visually as it was just a feeling. No matter how cold the blood those who were connected to the night were affected. She obviously felt much better outside then she had within the walls of the church- d
Alex Vipond: "The pleasure is mine." Alex nodded, a bit more formal, a bit more regal perhaps, until he stepped away from the doors and down to the terrace that overlooked the slight bit of landscaping between the front of the cathedral and the street. For some reason, being in church he always felt his spine straighten more, as if he could still feel the rule of the nanny smacking him across the shoulders for slouching. Now, away from the doors however, he relaxed a bit, leaning a hip against the low wall that separated them from the sidewalk and street below.
Condemned Legacy: Uriah simply kept his gaze on this one. Lux... she was a strange one. Interesting. They seemed to have something in common. Though... for opposite reasons. The Moon was good for her... and it was bad for him. He knew the next full moon wasn't until the 19th, but still. And come the 19th? Alex would have one hell of a time trying to convince the Brit to come out for anything. Only one person had seen him in his dark form... and she had amazingly accepted it. Though, he simply didn't allow himself to grow comfortable with her acceptance. It was one of his many flaws. "What brings you here? You and Anna?" he asked curiously.Head tilting. –d
Placenia Hosea: When he finally came to, he looked around realizing he was still in the church. A strong energy was felt coming from outdoors, there was someone or something he called to him that was closer. As if, a strong force unless the girl was shielding. The Spaniard stepped back a bit admiring such wondrous works. He's got some questions to ask whoever owned such architecture. His flawless mask slightly turned looking towards the exit, his whole body then followed as he walked towards the very creature he called to him. Not to worry, the girl was safe so long as she doesn't start to attack him or anything. Looking at the man who now was speaking to the ladies, he kept his distance until his conversation with them is over. His hazel pools fell on one who carried a powerful animal, one that spoke to him like an accordian in the distance. There he was, but thought to go say hello to Alex who wasn't too far away. "Senor? Is everything okay with you?" Hosea could act all cool and pretended not to notice his friend's uneasiness when around this place. (d)
A beast at heart: - There was a good amount of shielding in the works but it was impossible to shield it all. It was the nature of it all in the end. Though it was notable. She noticed him as well though looking to Uriah - " It is Anna who comes here to clear her mind....attempt to heal her soul." - She shook her head glancing over her shoulder a moment. It seemed somewhat silly to her, considering what Anna knew of her own destiny and soul. Yet she had to remain impartial those were the rules as it were- " So I am here..." - she took a deep breathe thinking it over- " Only because it is where I am meant to be" - She smirked dark gaze slipped to the other vampire that had joined the fray, the movement of her gaze had only a momentary reflection of soft light emanating from them. A reflection of the moon that shone above them. A simple blink had it faded to dark ember once again- " I could ask teh same of you and your merry band of misfits" - she kept her hands folded in front of her for the time being- d
Condemned Legacy: Uriah knew the other guy was close by, but since he didn't know him... well, he wasn't going to go out on a limb and be all chummy. It wasn't Uriah's style. Besides, he was a little busy at the moment. "I see. Its a nice place to come to for that kind of thing. I guess." He continued to watch her carefully, still trying to figure her out. As if staring at her would help him come to that conclusion. "Me and my merry band of misfits?" He asked with an amused smirk. "Alex is no misfit... not really. And what makes you think I am?" he asked with a smirk. Yes, Uriah was the guarded sort, but... it was habit. Especially when your own father dragged you to Doctor after Doctor, wanting them to find some medical reason why he was the way he was. Or maybe just deem him bat shit crazy. It was easier than dealing with the truth, wasn't it? His mother however, had been the supportive one. –d
Alex Vipond: The owner would be His Holiness, Pope Francis and the Roman Catholic Church. Alex looked at Hosea and nodded. "It's fine, why do you ask." And he wasn't uneasy, he simply had experience with nuns and their manner of disciplining children who were little hellions. Perhaps that had been a portent of things to come, hm? Alex then looked to Lux and Uriah. "Hosea." He hooked a thumb to the Belle Morte, and then gestured to Lux and Uriah as he concluded the introductions. "Lux, Uriah..." He nodded. "Mousketeer roll call over? Everyone good and up to speed?"
A beast at heart: - Brows came together in a thought- " No I would disagree..." - she found no comfort there not for her lack of belief. She did believe it was merely a different brand of faith. Though she did seem to have confused herself briefly a soft roll of her shoulder. Her small size, standing only a little over five foot two inches and small lithe frame gave a view of a very petite and even fragile woman. Though Alex new differently- " I suppose I dont know what made me call you all that...I heard it somewhere....it seemed like a term of endearment. Is it not?" - As if she had learned something very interesting. The mousketeer reference was lost on her but she newly focused on Hosea and even stepped toward him- " Hello" - she smiled, her social graces were beginning to improve but she was still working on it- " Its a pleasure to meet you" - She wouldn't state the obvious of what he was instead merely offer her own hand, naturally tanned skin nearly shimmering- d
Alex Vipond: "Well he does have a Robin of Locksley air about him." Alex smirked. "I get to be Friar Tuck, he who is the holder of the beer."
Condemned Legacy: Uriah glanced to Alex and smirked. "It’s the accent." he said in reply. Uriah looked back to Lux however and gave a shake of his head before he chuckled softly. Thoroughly amused. "Endearment? No. It means you think that Alex and I are up to no good. Out to start trouble." he answered. Uriah's arms came to cross over his broad chest and he simply stepped aside to let Lux have her chance to meet this Hosea chap. Uriah? Only gave the man a nod. Personally, he thought the man was a bit shady. To shady for his own liking, but the Brit tried to keep an open mind. Key word here being tried. -d
Placenia Hosea: Him a misfit? Pfft. That wouldn't be one of the many descriptions of someone who spent way too much time reading a book behind his desk or in his living room, at his splendid mansion that is. Not a lot talk to him due to his serious or knew too much for his own good. A philosopher and historian who knew his way when it comes to words. As a female who he didn't know step towards him, this one was definitely feminine and her voice interesting even as he took that hand, kissing the back of it. "Evening Senorita. I am Hosea." That was better than suddenly bragging about his full title as the Curator and then, a historian. He kept it short and sweet. Why he loved his Spanish lifestyle was that most find them to be too clever or too fancy, but that was stereotypes for you.(d)
A beast at heart: - She placed a hand over her mouth- " Oh my...well then I have misjudged...because you two couldn't possibly be up to no good" - Whether she truly believed that or not was left for them to decide. Though for the moment Hosea had taken her other hand and given the height difference she was going to have to come half way less he bend nearly in half. Though when his fingers touched hers much less his lip's he would find perhaps more than he expected: It was comparable to the tingle you feel when your limb loses blood matched with heat, more than he would be used to given his living condition...or lack thereof for that matter. It was in no way unpleasant rather it was just very abrupt, that heat would spread up his arm and even his face from the lip against skin contact. Even when she withdrew her hand he would find the feeling lingered for a few moments, more or less leaving a memory of being touched by something...beyond them, though a glance would be given to Uriah and Alex once again before stepping back more to form a circle. More practical for socializing- d
Alex Vipond: Made it easier to see everyone, though short as she was, they could just look over her head at each other. Had to.
Condemned Legacy: Uriah however eyed this Hosea. Was he dallying a bit much when it came to greeting Lux? Perhaps and Uriah had a mind to tell the Spaniard or whatever the bloody hell he was, to piss off. However, Uriah had to remind himself that Lux wasn't your typical run of the mill Lady either. That she might very well be more than capable of handling herself, should this Hosea, decide to fang out. He gaze cut harshly to Hosea from Alex and then more smoothly and softly to Lux. "It’s alright. No harm done. Besides... Alex and I might decide to wear that badge tonight after all. Go and stir up a bit of trouble somewhere, eh Alex?" Grin followed. Uriah's arms dropped and his hands came to slip within his pockets. –d
Alex Vipond: "Gator's probably open. You missed a fine show last night, by the way." Alex nodded. "And yes." He smirked. "I did Skyfall at the end. Meghan and I ... took a break from the signing."
A beast at heart: - The front of that cotton dress had very conveniently placed pockets near the hips which is where her hands went after that. She offered a smile and a nod- " Then I wont feel as guilty for branding you incorrectly" - She watched them all casually. She never usually joined them on these adventures. She preferred it that way- d
Alex Vipond: Chicken. Alex chuckled. "You would have enjoyed yourself last night. The place was packed, inside and out. And the charities took in quite a tidy sum."
Placenia Hosea: It wasn't anything except him being respectable unto the opposite sex. That was how men suppose to act around them aren't they? His parents had taught him how to be manly in front of females, it was in his customs to greet a lady more or less or he wouldn't be the man he was today. Most did get a bit envious even when another gender was close to someone they care about. Hosea wasn't one of those crazed vamps, if he was, then he would have done worse. He's seen the sociopathic one's and really don't want to get into any detail. Because he rarely accumulate himself around people like Alex there did, that was fine with him. He was hated, he was avoided, the first impression of someone who didn't usually come around unless something interested him to the point, he had to drop by. That girl who had been with her before, the energy, she wasn't there like she had been earlier. His driver was still inside the church, probably admiring such a view. Picking up their conversations not getting involved. His only focus was this cathedral that stood accepting those who comes to be enlightened. Did he know Alex would be here? Not particularly.(d)
Condemned Legacy: "I think a visit to the Gator sounds good. I could use a few drinks." he replied to Alex. A glance to Lux. Charming smile given. "Would you care to join us Lux? I'm sure you might find more interesting people and things to... observe. For however long or short a time you like of course." Uriah was going to at least be gentlemanly and offer an invite. Gaze was back to Alex. "I don't want to know what you and your wife did mate because let’s face it.... every time I see her... it’s going to be the first thing that comes to mind. And while I will say she is quite the looker, I don't think you want to stick that thought or image within my mind...I myself, prefer that you not do it either." Cheeky bastard. –d
A beast at heart: - She swayed slowly back and forth and a hand came to rest against Uriah's shoulder briefly again that feeling could not be ignored. Though the touch was brief- " Kind gestured but im afraid tonight my attention will be elsewhere." " Alex...Uriah....Hosea" - she nodded to them. Usually leaving just as quickly as she appears. She spun on her practically bare feet and started down the street again. Leaving that lingering scent in her wake, it was light and airy. Yet had a certain depth, otherworldly was a cold description. Moving along she started to hum softly Moving toward the deep shadow of the building that was cast by the moon's positioning. So soon as she stepped into that darkness she was nothing more than a soft mist left to the moon beams. As if she had never been there at all- d
Condemned Legacy: Careful. She was going to have him go all bloody Thumper on her. And to say that she didn't smell good? Yeah, bleeding lie. Uriah watched as Lux moved off, leaving him with that warming and tingling sensation. He could get use to that. –d
Alex Vipond: "Quite right." Alex nodded, but no, he'd never look at the roof of the bar the same way again. He looked back at Lux. "Where?" Nosy? Well, yeah. Alex watched her go and shrugged, then looked to Uriah and Hosea. "Grumpy Gator?" He nodded, not waiting for an answer and pushed from his lean on the wall and headed down the steps. Turning toward the street, he unlocked his car and slid in, starting her up.
Condemned Legacy: Uriah lingered in place. Stared after Lux until she was gone and then, moved on down the stairs to hop into the passenger side of Alex's murdered out Benz. That was going to lose to his Lexus LFA. Soon. –d
Placenia Hosea: He's not musketeer, but Alex was a neat fellow whose charisa maybe higher than his own. If he talked there was probably thirty or more words relating to Hitler. Go figure. Looking to the new guy who he didn't know yet, this one he made a brief introduction. "We have not met. Another of Alex's friends?" Slightly canting his head, he almost forgot that Jeffrey was still in the church so headed in there first. "Jeffrey, go on home. I'll be there soon" Jeffrey got up, walked outside, the man was very loyal to Hosea as their connection showed from long ago. His Spanish in coherent with his, both switching to Spanish from their English dialect then went back to the men who looked forward to this place, the Grumpy Gator? "Grumpy Gator? I should really get out more often. All them books and scrolls, journals.." A brainiac one was going to give off hints that he could have went to Ivy League, but instead he hadn't and went somewhere else for his educational needs. (d)

Alex Vipond: Window, or otherwise shopping was tonight's agenda, but as they came down Madison toward the I-5, Alex took a left onto 9th Avenue and parked at the curb a half a block past Marion across the street from the Cathedral. Throwing the car into park, he turned in the seat and looked at Adrienne. "Do you mind if I run in for a bit? There was something I should have done a few months back, but with the divorce and all.... it slipped my mind." First time in sixty two years. He'd make up for it now.
Wrinkled Black: As Alex parked, Adrienne was leaning so she could look up at the cathedral, her jaw dropping just a bit. "Oh wow.." She then turned her attention back to Alex and she smiled, shaking her head. "Not at all. Would you mind if I joined you?" For all she knew he may wanted the time to himself and if he did mind, she wouldn't be at all offended.
Alex Vipond: Alex smiled and nodded. "By all means." he smiled and then looked back at Ian. "You wanna go in?" he looked away before Ian answered to check his mirror, just in case someone was coming up alongside them, before he popped his door open. He really didn't want someone wiping out his Range Rover.
Ian Lighter: Sure. Been a while and I can hardly guard you if I’m out here and you’re both in there.
Wrinkled Black: Chuckling, she nodded. "He's got a point." A wink was given to Ian before she was opening her door and climbing out, smoothing a hand down the back of the casual dress she wore. Fortunately it was decent enough for church!
Ian Lighter: ::he climbed out and looked around, making sure it was clear and no potentially dangerous people were anywhere around their vehicle or the path they would take into the building.::
Alex Vipond: "This is true." Alex nodded, as he closed his door and then rounded the nose to curb side to pull Adrienne's door open, but he was a wee bit slow. Once she was out though, he took her hand in his, fingers lacing, and then he led her back around the front of the car, checking traffic again before he started out across the street. Yes, he was jaywalking. Maybe he should go to confession while they were here. It had been a while, after all. As for being dressed for church... well Alex was in his usual attire but at least his jeans weren't ripped.
Wrinkled Black: Eh, well, at this time of night, who was noticing let alone caring if they jaywalked? But she was glad the guys' eyes were on traffic, since she was too busy gazing up at the cathedral. "Do you go to church much anymore? Like on holidays?" Since he didn't seem to make a habit of going weekly. It was a good thing to know about a person you're starting a family with, no?
Alex Vipond: "I haven't. There are times when I think I should..." He headed for the steps that would lead them up to the courtyard and the doors of the church itself, his gaze going to Adrienne as he spoke. "What about you? Do you attend?" He didn't even know what, if any, faith she adhered to. That was why they were, by and large, courting... even if they were living together. The get to know you time, before taking the next step.
Ian Lighter: ::since that was asked of Alex, he simply stayed out of the conversation::
Wrinkled Black: "We grew up as kind of holiday Catholics. It's been a while, though." Her expression was sheepish, particularly as they headed into the church. She looked over her shoulder, though, keeping her voice down. "How about you, Ian?"
Ian Lighter: I’ve been in a Catholic Church once or twice, usually for funerals and marriages. The old man was catholic, I guess, but we never made a big deal about it. You know... rosary...Praying to Saints;... I don’t think I’m Catholic... I go direct to the big man when I pray. Ive read the book, seems like we really don’t need intercession from dead guys, no matter how pious.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne nodded. "Agreed. Never really was one for confession, personally. I figure, God knows what I've done and He knows if I'm sorry for it or not."
Alex Vipond: Alex dipped his fingers into the font and crossed himself as they crossed the narthex, and then he was stepping into the nave. "Generally the dead don't have a lot to say." Alex shrugged and then headed for the shrine, taking up an already used fireplace match and lighting it from one candle before he touched it to the wicks four others. Usually he would have made a separate trip for Alexandra but then he was also late for his friends. Once the candles were lit, Alex knelt and crossed himself once more, his thoughts on those he'd lost.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne crossed herself with the holy water as well, but when Alex went for his candles, she genuflected and slid into a nearby pew so he could have a moment alone to pray. She did some praying of her own, her hands folded nearly over her belly and her eyes closed.
Ian Lighter: ::he stood respectfully but watchfully while the pair communed with their Maker in their own ways but one pair of eyes would be open::
Alex Vipond: He gave up a prayer for his niece, and the three friends lost on a cold February morning, near Clear Lake. Once he was done, he crossed himself again and rose, then headed for the pew that Adrienne had settled in. He genuflected and sat down beside her, head bowed, a hand moving to cover hers and give a gentle squeeze.
Wrinkled Black: A soft smile was given to Alex as he sat down, turning her hand just slightly so that she could lace her fingers with his and return that squeeze. She knew someday she ought to get in the habit of lighting her own candles, but today was a trip for Alex.
Alex Vipond: Alex smiled at her, and brought her hand up to his lips, a kiss pressed to her fingers and a low whisper given. "I'm ready when you are. Just had to give a hello to some old friends." And his niece, though really he'd only known her in the last few moments of her life. A fact which tore at him still. Not only had he not known her but he was the one who took her life. There was just no getting over that.
Wrinkled Black: She nodded, giving his hand one more squeeze. "I'm ready." Standing, she slid out of the pew and genuflected once more, still holding Alex's hand. "How would you feel about having the Peanut christened?" She kept her voice low.
Ian Lighter: ::he moved higher up in the aisle to make room for them as they exited the pew, then would precede them up the aisle to the door of the church::
Alex Vipond: Rising, Alex slid from the pew and genuflected again, then took up Adrienne's hand once more as they headed down the aisle. "It can't hurt." he smiled at her as they followed Ian out of the church and he glanced around once they were again outside. Heading down the steps, he gave the fob a double tap to unlock the doors as they crossed the street.
Ian Lighter: ::this time of night, traffic was sparse, he did see a car parked down the road, that was still there as they came out. Might be someone in there... Paparazzi? :: a tap on Alex's shoulder and a jerk of si head in the direction of the car::
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne smiled as she followed after them. "Worth looking in to, at least." They had plenty of time to look into it, almost a whole year if they went the traditional two month old route. At Ian's mentioning paparazzi, Adrienne glanced in that direction. While she didn't pull her hand away from Alex's, she loosened her grip in case he didn't want it to look obvious they'd been holding hands.
Alex Vipond: Alex didn't care if anyone saw them holding hands. Fucking in public, that would be bad. His head turned toward the car in question and whereas Ian may not be able to get a good look, Alex could. The face was noted for future reference and then he shook his head. "No clue." He stepped up onto the curb and pulled Adrienne's door open, and then looked at her, leaned in, and dropped a kiss to her lips. Once she was in and settled, he closed the door and rounded the car to the driver's side. Giving one last look to the car parked down the street, Alex then slid in behind the wheel.
Wrinkled Black: Let's get this straight. Fucking in public would be great. Getting caught fucking in public would be bad. Very important distinction here! Since Alex didn't let go, her hand tightened around his once more. Settling in the front seat, she smiled at Alex and returned the kiss happily. "Love you." By the time he was behind the wheel, Adrienne was buckled in and ready to take his hand once safe to do so. "Guess there's only so much we can do if it was, right?"
Alex Vipond: "Love you more." he buckled up and started the car. "Sadly, he's not breaking the law. He gets in our face, impedes us in anyway, then we can get a restraining order against him for harassment." He shrugged, and checked his mirrors, then pulled away from the curb. "Not that he'd likely adhere to it and really, with a telephoto lens, he doesn't need to get in our face."
Wrinkled Black: She chuckled, shaking her head. "Well that's all types of reassuring." Even so, she wasn't nearly as rattled by it as she could've been. She knew what she was getting herself into. "Now, are you going to remember that this is just a recon trip?" Nothing wrong with changing the subject! She was grinning as she slid her hand over his thigh.
Alex Vipond: "You mean we can't buy everything in sight?" He chuckled, his own hand moving to rest on her thigh. Hey, turnabout was fair play and he could drive one handed with the best of them. Hey, two hands on the wheel was a waste of ahand! Alex glanced into the mirrors, checking to see if their friend was following them but it appeared they were in the clear. He glanced at Ian in the rear view as the guy was damned quiet but then he usually was. Looking back at the road, he turned onto Madison once more and continued on to the 5. "So, if there's like this totally to die for onesie or something, we're not buying it...." One brow rose as he regarded her. "Or maybe a teething ring or a pacifier that's just too cute for words?"
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, moving her hand over his. Safer that way, what with Ian in the car. Ahem. "Oh, no, that stuff you can rock on with your bad self. I mean like big stuff. Furniture, gear, that sort of thing." Black AmEx or no, there wasn't a whole lot of sense putting stuff on the card they won't be able to use for another six months.
Alex Vipond: Not when they hadn't decided on a theme or color scheme. "Okay that we can wait on." He nodded, then leaned over to kiss her as he stopped at the light. Once it changed, he made the left onto the onramp and soon they were tooling on to the mall.
