Alex Vipond: The text came in during the show, but afterward, when things had calmed down, Alex checked his phone. Seeing the message, seeing the number, he called it immediately and waited as it rang through.
Paden Ulyssess: ::Paden waited for the third ring, before answering..:: Paden.. What can I do you for? ::A shift of the phone into his other hand with a lift to his right ear as he sat down to the couch and proceeded to look over a file... d::
Alex Vipond: "Mister Ulyssess. It's Alex Vipond. I do hope I haven't caught you at a bad time." There were times when Alex's speech could be terribly formal, and then out of the blue, he'd throw a 'dude' or a 'fer shure' in there. The influence of having lived in LA for so long.
Paden Ulyssess: No, I'm good. I got your message and it appears you obtained my text. Nice music by the way. Been while since I’ve heard you. Yeah, I'm familiar with who you are. No worries, thus forward. You needed to get a' hold of me, and you have. What's on your mind, Alex? ::A page before him on the coffee table was turned in the folder.::
Alex Vipond: Alex stepped from the van as it pulled up at the hotel and had everyone go on with out him. He'd be up in a few. In the mean time, he was hitting the sidewalk and wandering down the street as he spoke on the phone. "Thank you. I've a problem. I don't know if you've heard of the band, Eleventh Hour or not, but I was executive producer on their album that's about to be released. They're friends. And the Hall they were due to play in on Friday in New York was turned into a pile of rubble. Ten people died, others were injured. Sedona and the rest of her band mates are missing."
Paden Ulyssess: ::A perk of a brow as his free hand moved over his shaven head in consideration of the information and turn of events:: So you have a missing band and want me to find them..? I'm guessing, Alex, that this is a special situation? Given you acquired my PO Box for leaving a message for me. How many in the band that are missing?
Alex Vipond: "Four." He paused in word, but not in step as he glanced around, then resumed speaking again. "And you could say they're pack mates as much as band mates. I have it on good authority that they were taken to the Port Authority. Quite likely they are no longer in the country. I have a list of ships that put out from the harbor that night, but sadly, I don't have the names of the ships. As soon as I get them, I'll get it to you."
Paden Ulyssess: As packmates.. do you mean weres' ? If you can zip the list of ships in a file, you can attach and text to me.. if your phone can do that. Otherwise, you can fax me at 12629781452. Do you have an idea on what happened? Thoughts, Alex?
Alex Vipond: "Sedona's husband was taken some years back. There were rumors and speculation that an illegal fighting ring, run by...." here he paused again, taking another glance around before continuing. "Run by vampires. There was never any proof but...."
Paden Ulyssess: I see. ::A glance over another page from the folder in front of him on the table..:: I'm aware, of you being not exactly human, Alex. There won't be a problem if I go stir things up and put to death some vampires will there? Meaning of course, with you. I know some don't agree with some of their race and their actions but don't wish them removed from society. What species are the band members? Wolf, Lion, other feline? Are we talking filthy rich vampire types that are bored with their money so they've gone to these 'fights' or are we talking sick sons of bitches that are into the gore of it and the entertainment factor?
Alex Vipond: The fact that Paden knew what he was gave him pause. How did he know? Why, and when did he learn it? And from whom? He stood stock still for a moment on the sidewalk while he tried to wrap his mind around that, before answering. "I know it's no one I am associated with so what happens to them is of no concern to me. My friends are wolves." He glanced around again as if looking for someone drawing a bead on him. He had this sudden sensation of being highly exposed. "And as for motive, it could be any or all of the above."
Paden Ulyssess: ::It paid to be informed and through the darker section of the Church and that little black section of the CIA, Paden was well informed of those around him. A little nod absently of his shaven head as he listened.:: All right. Then once I track their ship down. If it hasn't met with land, I can deal with things onboard it. It maybe possible the 'fighting' takes place in the cargo hold. Would make them mobile and easier to slip in and out of countries. Be easier if they are still onboard, harder if they hit a port before I find them. I have access to a plane. So I can be wheels up, in an hour roughly. The band members, you said four. Do you have pictures you could text me? :::
Alex Vipond: "Incoming." Alex went flipping through his apps, gathered the needed images and sent them to Paden. Gotta love a smart phone. "I'm putting my money on the Malta ship with the 'unknown' cargo. A ship has a manifested cargo or is empty but unknown?"
Paden Ulyssess: ::A glance at the incoming images coming to his phone as he brings them up on his smart phone.:: Nothing legal, is ever listed as unknown. Like the meat they use at Taco Bell. Like I said, I can be in the air in an hour or so. If it is indeed Malta as their destination.. I can catch up to them with a plane long before they reach the Mediterranean. Is this a personal request, where in the future one day you'll owe me four favors, one for each of them? Or would you rather pay me?
Alex Vipond: "Money is not an object. In fact I set up a fund which my manager has access to, for the specific purpose of getting my friends back. Anything you need, let him know and he will get you the money for it. His name is Jake Collingwood. His cell number is 206-719-5525."
Paden Ulyssess: Understood, Alex. But I've been 'handling' matters like this and beyond going back before our cell phones we're currently using and even longer before that of gunpowder was invented. I've got access to the 'items' I'm going to need for this. Though, I will consider a number for payment and please tell your manager not to stiff me for the bill later on. I don't take kindly to being used. Silver isn't cheap for crafting, I'll be billing him for some of the expense. If I bring in a friend to fly me, that'll be a little more for him flying me in.. and then your friends out. If they are alive or in one piece, I'll bring them back. Vampires sometimes can be egotistical and they won't expect trouble to meet them while the ship is at sea. No offense, Alex. I will ask for part of the payment, tickets to your next gig when you're back in Seattle.
Alex Vipond: Alex gave a chuckle, damned glad he'd gone to the Church for help with this. "Backstage passes. VIP." He nodded. "Paden. Thanks doesn't begin to cover it."
Paden Ulyssess: Alex, I've haven't heard 'bad' things about you as a Vampire. So we're cool, got it? If a vampire, type of were' or demon is causing issues with people.. then I need to step in. Otherwise, I have a few weres' and a couple vampires I call friend. ::As well as great for information in parts of the world he thought with a smirk crossing his mustache/goatee.:: I can leave in an hour. The plane will be crossing the US in route to find the ship in question shortly after that. I'll have a friend keep tabs on the other ships on the manifest just to see how they fair out.
Alex Vipond: "Got it." he nodded, even though Paden couldn't see it. It was habit. Alex felt a bit of the tension he'd been dealing with, slipping away. Drawing in a breath, he let it out, slowly. "What ever it takes."
Paden Ulyssess: I'll bring them back and see if I can't put an end to at least a few associated with a these possible fights. Seems I have a plane to catch.
Alex Vipond: "Good luck and let me know if there's anything I can do." What he had no clue, but the offer was there.
Paden Ulyssess: I will, Alex. Your friends will be found with in the next twelve hours, or less. ::Paden looked over the phone after putting it on speaker a few minutes ago, he was looking over the pictures of the band members, putting to memory their looks..::
Alex Vipond: "Thank God..." One hand slid through his hair, drawing it back. "I'm sure they'll be damned glad to be back on tour." He hoped they'd be capable of such. Who knew what the sick fucks were doing to them?
Paden Ulyssess: A bit of medical attention might be needed first depending on their conditions once found. But no doubt a little touring then wouldn't hurt to get their minds off of it.
Alex Vipond: "They were really looking forward to it, you know? And they got the album release coming up and there's even going to be a party for that. For the fans you know?"
Paden Ulyssess: I can understand. They'll be found soon. I'll take care of this situation and be in touch if I need to get a hold of you. Otherwise, I'll contact you and your manager when five miles off the coast and returning with them.
Alex Vipond: "Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you soon." Twelve hours. Could it be that simple? Paden made it sound so, though Alex knew it would be anything but. He didn't want to know what sort of carnage was about to be unleashed. Frankly he didn't care. Those on the receiving end were deserving of whatever fate befell them, of that Alex was certain.
Paden Ulyssess: Talk to you soon, Alex. ::Taping to the phone to end the call. He'd send off a few text messages to two that would need to know he was needing a flight East and quick. Centuries of experience helped though... ::
Alex Vipond: Alex eyed the phone for a long moment, and then let out a slow breath as he slipped it into his coat pocket and headed back toward the hotel.
Paden Ulyssess: ::Paden waited for the third ring, before answering..:: Paden.. What can I do you for? ::A shift of the phone into his other hand with a lift to his right ear as he sat down to the couch and proceeded to look over a file... d::
