Alex Vipond: The day's shoot had gone well, CDs were continuing to be sold and Alex's fingers were seemingly permanently stained by Sharpie. Meghan had gone out shopping and Alex was doing much the same, security had been split, and was set somewhat thin at the moment, since everyone had scattered. Alex would have foregone such but he wasn't about to start bucking the system now. Not when it there was more than just himself to worry about. That 'we don't need no stinking security' was what had caused a little incident in Brazil a few years back. One of many but one in which the band was caught up in as well. Since then, he'd been being have. After signing another CD for a fan that had singled him out of the crowd in the piazza, he continued on, taking in the sights and looking for that one special item he wanted to get for Meghan. And as soon as he saw it, he'd know what it was.
Miss Shaylen: Like Alex, Jake and Shaylen had been doing a bit of window-shopping as well and it was amidst that walk that the little blonde would spy him through a throng of teenage girls that were whispering and giggling amongst themselves, watching as a friend of theirs had gone over to get his autograph. With a nudge to her boyfriend's side, she would stop and let him follow her gaze to the man in question, not wanting to point him out for fear of swarming their friend -- he had a knack of doing that just fine all on his own without any help from her. "Think he's busy?" She quirked a brow, glancing up at Jake curiously, "Or can we safely say hi," she chuckled softly. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --Jake and Shay had finished up their window shopping as they knew they had to head over to meet with Alex after his acoustic live shoot today. They figured they'd get a bite after meeting up with Alex. Even Jake was surprised by the number of people wanting Alex's autograph, and it looked that the European shows were selling as many CD's as the shows Stateside. It was a good period for Alex, as he knew that his manager would be allowed to see his client. Jake's hand slid into Shay as they started to make their way towards Alex and the throng of fans as he glanced at Shay, and just saying-- "follow me". --As they approached Alex, he hoped to catch eye contact with him as he called out to Alex-- "Want me to forge your signature for the fans? Save you some time..." -- (d)
Alex Vipond: Looking up from the autograph he was giving, he chuckled. "Don't think anyone can possibly write as bad as I do." His handwriting had not improved over the years. He handed the CD back, smiled, and waved to the giggling horde as they moved off, and then he was turning to Jake. "I'll be interested in seeing how well the DVD sells." He stepped to Shay, gave her a kiss to either cheek, then held his hand up for Jake, for that grasp and shoulder. "You guys enjoying yourselves?"
Miss Shaylen: "Lead the way, baby," she grinned, letting him guide her through the group and when they were there, she greeted Alex with a hug. "Mmm," very much so," she nodded, beaming as she cast Jake a knowing little smile, and squeezing his hand. "No Meghan?" She looked around for his other half, blue eyes scanning the crowd, chuckling at what Jake said about forging his signature. "Might pay to become ambidextrous," she nodded, kidding of course. Sort of. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --Jake watched as the throng of fans started to disperse as he laughed, glancing at Alex before saying-- "Stealing Bieber's fans, I see. Good." --Laughing, knowing Alex's music was superior to that teeny bopper stuff, but had to give his client a bit of shit. He knew that they had been shopping, ideas for numerous things and gave Shay a smile when Alex discussed the DVD. he chuckled, saying-- "How many DVD's are you gonna need? Looks like we'll need plenty coming up. If Europe is selling as well as the States are, we'll keep you busy the rest of 2013." -- He glanced at both of them as he asked-- "You want to go somewhere quiet, where we can chat and not run in fear of Alex being molested on the street?" -- (d)
Alex Vipond: "Meghan is shopping. I've been looking for something to ... I don't know what, I'll know it when I see it." He looked around, then back at Jake and Shay, voice dropping. "It's fucking weird, cool, but weird. I mean, being someplace that I've not been...." recently, in the last century or better, "and people are recognizing me. It's fucking weird." He nodded to the some place quiet, and having spotted a cafe earlier, he gestured down the street toward it.
Miss Shaylen: "For her, you mean?" She smiled, sinking her fingers deeper through his own. Seemed the men were on similiar wavelengths. When Alex stated it was weird, she nodded slowly, trying to imagine what it was like, but it was hard, so yes, weird was a very fitting adjective. As Alex gestured for them to move, seeming to like the idea of some place quieter, she started walking with them, listening to them talk about sales, just smiling to herself. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --As the three of them headed towards the cafe, it would get them out of the way of the masses. As they made it over to the cafe, you knew Alex and Jake would talk a little business. As they ducked off to a more secluded area of the cafe, Jake would take orders for the group, heading off to the front counter. Moments later, when he came back with a tray with everyone's drinks on there, he handed one to Shay, then Alex, and then himself as he sat down. With his other hand sliding along Shay's thigh, he talked business-- "After a month out, we've sold 179,000 copies in the States. You are #11 for the upcoming week. And good news, you hit #1 in Canada, England, and I'm just waiting for Italian numbers to come back, but #1 or #2 are looking good here. So, Europe seems to be paying off as well. I cant remember, where are the next stops?" -- (d)
Alex Vipond: Glass of wine in hand, Alex sat and leaned back, one leg crossing over the other, gum rolled to the other side of his mouth, but he didn't ditch it. Wine and Doublemint. What a combination. "Tomorrow is Giove, at the Castello de Giove, and then Milan and Naples. After that we've got two days until the show in Marseille at Le Dome de Marseille. Six shows in France, then off to London for the Home Stretch."
Miss Shaylen: Shaylen had asked for something fruity, non-alcoholic, of course -- and what it would be was left up to Jake, as she had no clue what was available, though water would suffice. She'd ask for coffee, but she had an inkling if she asked for decaffeinated in Italy they would laugh in her face. Seating herself, she got comfortable, crossing one leg over the other and leaning into the man beside her as he lay his hand on her thigh, rubbing it softly as he spoke, listening to the list of places Alex and his entourage would still be traveling to. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --Jake listened to Alex as that hand was on Shay's thigh. For himself, he was sipping on a coffee as they continued drinking their respective liquids, he listened to him as he commented-- "We'll be in Italy for a couple more days, then probably bump into you somewhere in France and stuff, then Shay doesn't know this, but I planned the last few days in Monaco before heading back to the States. Figure she'd get to check out some more majestic cliffside views before headed back. I figure by then, we'll get back to Seattle around the same time as our Eleventh Hour friends. They should be arriving back in the States within the next 24-36 hours." --They'd discuss that more in the future as he said to Alex-- "When are you home?" -- (d)
Alex Vipond: "Glasgow is on the thirteenth and we're flying home the day after. I think by then we'll be more than ready to come home." He nodded. "Don't get me wrong, we're loving it, but it will be nice to sleep in a bed as opposed to a bus," because they barely got to see the hotel half the time.
Miss Shaylen: The mention of Monaco surprised her and she smiled, caught mid-sip so she couldn't say anything just yet, but she didn't need to. Those baby blues lit up with the curve of her lips. Leaning in, closer beside him, she slid her hand over his. "The man knows me well," she said softly, remembering the night they spent in Positano. Then to Alex, "I can't imagine that's very comfortable at all." The bus, she meant. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --He laughed upon hearing Alex's comment about sleeping on a bus. He turned to Shay, saying-- "Yeah, as someone that toured with bands on buses over the years- the sleep sucks and nobody wants you taking a numero dos in the bathroom in the bus. It's not the glamorous life people make it out to be." --and that's as far with that visual as he would go. He'd ask Alex-- "We're gonna get back before you will- is there anything you need me to handle back in Seattle before you get back?" --anything within reason of course. he just wanted to help out Alex during his busy time, knowing business wise that things would get a little quiet once they got home: except for a band that was returning mostly safely to American shores and other bands to line up in the meantime.—(d)
Alex Vipond: "Just take care of Sed." He nodded. "You got Paden paid?" Alex sipped his wine, after taking a moment to study the scent. "Let me know when they hit US soil. How are you communicating with them? I presume they're not being chatty cathy on cell phones."
Miss Shaylen: When Alex told him to take care of Sed, it brought up something Shay had been wondering about on and off for awhile now -- how was her... husband, was he? -- going to be with Jake once he found out they'd been together? Granted, both of them had moved on months ago, but this would be news to him wouldn't it? Needless to say, it wasn't something the blonde was looking forward to and hopefully it wouldn't turn out to be anything, but still, and so here she was, voicing it out loud for the first time... "Hey, um...have you talked to her husband at all?" She looked from Alex to Jake, since the latter was who the question was geared toward, a tiny bit of hesitation detectable in her tone, hinting that she was a little nervous about it all. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --As they discuss logistics of the band coming home, he said to Alex-- "Paden should be paid off by next week, gonna give him a little extra for all his help. I guess I am still struggling with how to bring this story out in the public eye. I know once they are found out, every news agency will be on our asses about it. It's something I'm not looking forward to. But they aren't gonna want to sit in a cabin in northern Washington for the rest of their days, ya know?" --Jake still had to ponder this and handle things right. He knew he'd make the authorities look like fools, but they'd wonder why his hunch was spot on. He said-- "I set up an email for them and an untraceable cell phone to contact me, but the instructions were to use it sparingly." --then he looked to Shay and she brought up something which was another moment he didn't want to play out, but knew it would happen. he sighed, saying-- "Shit, yeah, I'm really looking forward to telling a long presumed dead 6'6 guy that while we thought you were dead, I was intimate with your wife. Maybe I should have them over for a barbeque and we can discuss that." –he laughed, shaking his head at both of them, watching as the awkward dilemmas piled up.-- (d)
Alex Vipond: "Simplest, most direct way to spin it is as close to the truth as possible. They were kidnapped, taken out of the country and the services of a... retrieval expert were engaged to bring them home safely with the full cooperation of the local authorities. Give the local cops a feather in their cap. They're going to be less likely to raise a stink over not having known a damned thing about what went down, if they're painted as the heroes. Also wouldn't hurt to grease a few palms..."
Miss Shaylen: Shaylen would just nod. Knowing what they were, what they were capable of, wasn't helping. Yes, Sedona had proven to be a friend, the two women not the best of such, but Jake was the common denominator that kept them on good terms, but she didn't know her husband -- to her, he was a stranger. "It'll be okay," she gave him a smile and squeezed his hand. Hey, after all they'd been through and with all the time apart, just being back in the States and together again might make anything in the past just that: the past. "How's everyone else doing that got...taken?" It'd been awhile since they'd been in Seattle, and outside of work, she hadn't had much contact with anyone other than her family. Her gaze fell on Alex since he was the one that was probably in the know on that. -d-
Manager Cieaner: --John was a stranger, even to Jake. He had only heard of him in stories, but their first face to face meeting would be coming soon enough. He figured in time it would be okay, but the fear of the unknown set in on Jake. As they thought about those things, Shay asked about the others, which was something he had wondered- because they hadn't really been home in a while, but would be soon enough. He'd say to Alex-- "Grease a few palms. That can be easily arranged. And I'll give the praise to the authorities, so they don’t breathe down my neck. It'll work itself out." --he glanced at his watch, knowing that he wanted to get Shay back to the hotel to round out their evening-- (d)
Alex Vipond: Alex still had to find something for Meghan that was indigenous to Rome, something touristy, but tasteful. No Pope on a rope soaps. "It'll work itself out. If you need anything, legal wise, contact Naja." Alex finished off his wine, and set the glass down.
Miss Shaylen: Between Jake looking at his watch and Alex finishing off his drink, Shaylen figured it was about that time and guessed they'd find out how everyone else was when they got back to Seattle, since no one said a word about it. "Feel like escorting me back to our room, Mr. Collingwood?" She would just smile, keeping it as innocent as possible, and the underlying meaning a secret between the couple. With that, she was setting down her own glass and rising to her feet, giving Alex another hug before he could even stand. "Hope you find what you're looking for," she would say to him with a wink, the little woman, helping her man to his feet so she could sink her arm through his. -d-
Miss Shaylen: Like Alex, Jake and Shaylen had been doing a bit of window-shopping as well and it was amidst that walk that the little blonde would spy him through a throng of teenage girls that were whispering and giggling amongst themselves, watching as a friend of theirs had gone over to get his autograph.
