Divine remedies for the skin and soul...
A beast at heart: - The last six months had been a different brand of hell. Though in true form Anna couldn't let it keep her down. Abandonment was something she had grown accustomed to. Hell she was used to being alone at this point she mostly preferred it that way. She had gotten her brother back but not int he way she wanted. He had taken some time away to find that path he so desperately needed. They all needed a path she supposed. Leland had gone again, it was his nature and she couldn't be angry with him. She honestly had expected it. That didn't mean she could just stop. As much as she wanted to. So she had gathered what money she had with the help of a few of her contacts from outside of Seattle. Having been a ghost she was busy opening up her own shop...and here it was intimately lit and the full window panes in the front showed the shining dark hardwood floors and dark shelves. Bottles of different designs and colors lined the shelves with different display's for the season. Pumpkin and squash and brown sugar scrub's. All homemade lotions and scrubs, shampoos and essence oils. Seemed she had a hidden talent. The sign on the front of the shop read " The Vine" and in small lettering " Divine remedies for the skin and soul". She stood behind the counter wiping the glass top and turning the lotions just so... A pair of low rise blue jean's hugged her hips while the white tank top was covered by a light blue and purple flannel style top the sleeves rolled to her elbow's. Black hair was up in the sleek ponytail while she prepared for the clean up process of the seemingly immaculate shop- d
Alex Vipond: Alex stepped out of the studio, locking the place up and sliding the gate over, slipping the padlock into place. There were no meetings today, no radio spots, no promoters to talk to so Alex was dressed in his usual jeans and -t-shirt, today's shirt boasted a pair of kittens in a red toy convertible sports car, and his jacket, since the night was cool. The light from the windows of what used to be a record shop caught his attention as he was heading for the Benz that was parked out on the street. Looking up he glanced over and then slowly wandered that direction. The new owner had opened up, the butcher paper that hid everything inside was down and the view of the displays was like a siren's song, begging to be explored. When he spotted the woman at the counter, he stopped in his tracks and grinned, before he continued, opening the door and stepping in. "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world...." Alex closed the door behind him, the chime of the bell jingling overhead as the door moved only adding to the charm of the shop.
NiteotheAngel: It had been some time since anyone had seen Kalypso. She had been busy with work and school. Slowly falling into what most considered the norm of growing up. She also had slowly been coming back to her brother’s shop and working there too. Picking up tools from time to time and returning to the apprenticeship that she had going on previously. But, today was her day off from both jobs. She had her homework done and was out an about. She was taking drivers education this nine weeks. So, next nine she would have her license. She was not even thinking about that at the moment. It was just nice to be out and about. A pair of jeans and a tank top with a pull over. Her long hair was pulled back out of her face. Missing her brothers but that was nothing new. She was used to it. She had Theodore in two with her. The mastiff forever getting big which meant more exercise he needed.::
A beast at heart: She had looked up at the subtle ding of the shop's bell alerting her to a customer. She had gotten a surprising amount of foot traffic but she hadn't expected to see Alex. Smoothing out that plaid fabric she offered him a smooth smile, it was impersonal but she was guarded. nobody could blame her for that. Stepping forward though she projected nothing but a warm welcome. " Small world hm?" - Her finger tips moved over the smooth surface of one of the countertops which held a lighter fragrance of soaps in more pastel colors than those that were displayed in the front which was more of a Fall feel- " Welcome to The Vine Alex" - She kept her hands in front of her for the time being- " Were you looking for anything or just looking?" – d
Alex Vipond: "Both, actually." He smiled to her, noted the guardedness and left her to her privacy. "I saw the lights, realized the place was open and decided to come check it out. Meghan likes all these kinds of soaps and things. More natural, less harsh." He nodded and wandered about a bit. "I didn't realize you were moving in nearby, I would have given you a hand." Hell he'd made a coffee table, weekend before last. He was really rather handy at some things.
NiteotheAngel: Kalypso couldn’t go in as long as she had Theodore with her. Which was fine. Today should have been about spending time with him anyway. She had not spent enough time with him with working on the time. At least lately that is what it felt like. She smiled as she had Theodore off the leash but as long as he was with her or close to her. He was fine. He rarely strayed from her.::
A beast at heart: - She nodded and moved forward. Boots barely audible on the floor as she made her way around toward one of the back tables- " Well what does she like? Is she more of a warm or a floral?" - She lifted a small soap just large enough to fit in her palm- " This is rose vanilla with just a slight amount of citrus...it takes the floral smell down just a bit" - That deep southern accent wasn't lost in the time she had spent here- " But if your looking for something a little less subtle and different I've used some nontraditional spices...something a little more eclectic" - She gave him a sideways glance and offered a more genuine smile- " No worries. I sort of like that I did it myself.. makes it mean more. But I do appreciate it" – d
Alex Vipond: "She's more of a warm or clean scent type." He nodded. "Mellow, nothing overpowering, spice sounds good." Alex nodded again. With the holidays coming up, cinnamon and nutmeg were going to be big pleasers. "Well if you need anything at all, help moving things, or just someone to squish a spider, let me know, the studio is just up the street."
A beast at heart: - She nodded and chewed on her lip a moment- " Hmm let me see..." - she would move and pick up one of the small black bags that had " The Vine" written long and slanted across the front- " I'll give you a few things...take it to her see what she likes and if she doesn't like it you can bring it back" - She would start to load up his bag with things.- " Lavender and a touch of spice is a very warm scent but it’s not overwhelming...and this moonstone scent is a secret formula and it’s been selling the best all day..." - She added several soaps of different caliber's even some lighter scents that were more comparable to oils. Moving toward him she handed him the bag after stuffing it with some nice deep purple tissue paper- " My gift to you" – d
Alex Vipond: "Thank you, you don't have to do that." He smiled, accepting the bag. "I'm going to be doing a show next month, and we've got the Fire and Ice Masquerade this month, Sadie Hawkins dance in November as well and then for Christmas we're doing a four day weekend, just prior to the holiday, up in Stevens Pass. Going to play in the snow and drink hot cocoa and just chill out. You should come."
A beast at heart: " Of course I do...call it good business practices" - She would offer a nod to him and her hands crossed in front of her yet again- " Wow. Thank you" - she would glance out the window a moment before looking back to him- " I will definitely try...and you don’t have to invite me...I do appreciate it though" - She cleared her throat. there was no real connection between Alex and herself. Except she knew the boy's. But even that connection had been broken. She was a rogue wolf trying to make a living in the backyard of a pack not overly popular for obvious reasons- " So how is everything?" - the last time she had seen Alex she had been half dead from Lux inhabiting her body- " Seems you've gotten pretty cozy with Lux?" - Said more curiously than anything- " You do realize that isn't a connection you should make?" – d
Alex Vipond: "She ... drops in from time to time." he nodded. "To be honest, I don't know what to make of her. Maybe you could fill me in on details?"
A beast at heart: - She let out a low sort of laugh...it was obvious she wasn't her biggest fan- " You think that she is only dropping in but the truth of it is you cannot hide from her no matter how you try...she is worse than a virus" - She would turn and head back toward the back desk to finish up with what looked to be counting the daily take- " She is..." - she shook her head- " I don’t even know where to begin." - She looked to Alex- " She's more than she appears, and you would be better off to distance yourself. I would if I could but it isn't a choice that I have" - It was hard to say if the feelings were justified or she was simply paranoid- " The thing inside of my brother was hers...if he is capable of that. What do you think she is capable of? She doesn't belong here." – d
Alex Vipond: "Her brother, according to her. Said such things were fated, but I know from Castiel that angels have to have permission to possess the living. They can't barge in, the way her brother did to yours. So... I don't
know what to think of that. Are they rogues, are they demons...." Alex paused and shook his head, moving to the counter to look down at the display there. "I don't know. I do know the whole thing is strange."
A beast at heart: - She looked up at him- " No they are more" - She swallowed hard and laid down what was in her hands- " I don’t know what you know about other cultures being that you have been around for a little while maybe more than I’m giving you credit for. Obviously at this juncture I think we can both agree that there is more to the world than God, Angels and Demons. The traditional thoughts on the afterlife and how the world was made. We were always told that our family was protected and meant for a purpose. Born you know...as we were we never took much stock in it other than the obvious. But then we began to learn we were not 'special' for what we were but because what we were made to endure. It's true Angels and Demons have been rumored to possess the living but its a rare feat that even the strongest of beings in this twisted fucked up world can endure something like her. Or him for that matter. They are from a different time Alex. She calls herself Lux but in truth her name is Igaluk and she is the Moon" - She watched him knowing that he was possibly going to consider locking her up- " Her brother is the sun...supposedly destructive but in some way not evil" - She inhaled- " Knowing what we know of science this is obviously nearly impossible to believe but it’s the truth...Through violence their version of the world was created. They are god's or deities or whatever you want to call them..." - she seemed pretty stressed about the situation but then if you had that on your shoulders would you?- d
Alex Vipond: "Now you're talking the oldest of pagan beliefs. The Sun and Moon, brother and sister, maiden, mother, crone, all in one, who begets the son from the brother, only for him to grow into the man who would, in essence, father himself, for time eternal. A never ending cycle that repeats itself every year. But I've never heard of them inhabiting humans." He'd have to ask Izzy, she was the witch, not he.
A beast at heart: " No you don’t understand" - She would shake her head- " I’m talking paintings on the wall of a cave..." - She eyed him- " She isn't human Alex...you of all people should know that" - She would close the cash register- " The next time you are close enough to her to draw blood...try" - She turned her back on him and locked the money in the safe that was behind the counter- d
Alex Vipond: "The story is of the Inuit, they were, if the mythology can be believed, once human before Igaluk raped Malina. Then he chased her and she became the moon and he the sun, I get that. But that is the legend, the mythos. And yes, every legend, every myth bears a kernal of truth, but that doesn't mean it has to be repeated. And one cannot draw blood from an ethereal being, it just doesn't happen. If she were inhabiting you then yes, it would be possible." he paused as she locked up the register. "Is that why they need you and your brother? To carry on the 'family' tradition, so to speak?" Because that was just twisted.
A beast at heart: - She shrugged some- " I know the story. But the story is wrong. The myth got the names wrong.. and there was a third. It doesn't matter now" - She exhaled slowly- " I never know what it is I am needed for...I know we are meant to protect something. Whether that be a legacy or tradition...I hope not" - she turned to look at him her arms crossing tightly over her chest- " All I know is that Axle is gone. Maybe trying to find his own answer's I don’t know. I don’t know if He will come back or even if I want him too if that is the case...all I know is that I’m tired" - She shook her head- " I’m tired of the possibility that my life isn't my own that all I am meant is to be something for her to use at her disposal..." - she rolled her eyes the bottom of her lip taken between her teeth. Keeping her emotions in check for the most part- " She says she only wants me safe. Wants the best the best for me and she would never do anything to harm me...but that was promised to my mother as well...and my father. Look what happened to them? I know it’s not the popular thing to say and even a little dramatic but I honestly believe that alone is the only way to break this curse...if there is no more bloodline then maybe they will go back where they came from" - a single tear welled in her eye but she wiped it away- d
Alex Vipond: "Talk to Paden." Alex regarded her. "He's quite capable and very used to these sorts of things. He's the strongest man I know who is not an angel. If anyone can help, it's Paden." Was that just a wee smidge of hero worship there? Hm, maybe. In Alex's book, Paden kicked ass, took names, if and when he felt like it. He was like Chuck Norris and Bruce Willis, rolled into one. "Do you really believe that if your family line dies out, that they won't go looking elsewhere?" Alex shook his head. "I don't."
A beast at heart: " I’ve seen what happens when they inhabit someone else...its something in the blood I don’t know" - She rolled her shoulders and forced a smile yet again- " Don’t worry everything is going to work out just fine" - she licked her lips: and smoothed out her shirt once again- " Please come visit again it was very nice seeing you" - It was a little bit of a different Anna than he was used to seeing but a girl had to survive. Having suffered quite a bit of loss in a short amount of time- d
Alex Vipond: Alex nodded. He wasn't going to push. The offer of help was there, if she needed it. "Well, as I said, if you need anything, I'm just a few doors down. AMV Records." He lifted the bag and gave her a smile. "Thank you, I am sure Meghan will love these, and we'll definitely be back for more." She'd already more or less said goodnight so nothing was left to say, save, "Goodnight." Giving her a smile, he headed for the door. He didn't know what Lux could or would do to him. He wasn't exactly capable of reproducing so he was, in effect, useless in that regard. Too he didn't think Lux's brother would be able to inhabit one of his kind. And too, why would he? The conversation left him with more questions than answers and as he stepped out and down the walk toward his car, he decided to go see Uriah. Maybe the man had some insight from the dead.
