Jack K Santana [1:38 A.M.]: She pulled her phone, dialed the number on the card that Sean had given her and listened as it rang through. When Derrick leaned his tall ass over, she looked at him, one brow rising, and then looked back at her beer.
KiIIer StyIe [1:40 A.M.]: A pleasant sounding woman would answer the line. "Darnai Motors, how may I direct your call."
Jack K Santana [1:42 A.M.]: "Jack Santana calling for Jacobs. Collins asked me to call." She took a drink of her beer, then looked over at Callie and Derrick, idly wondering if the kitchen was open.
KiIIer StyIe [1:45 A.M.]: "I see. Hold please." There was a brief click before a few moments later, the line was picked up. He sounded friendly as well. "Miss Santana, how can I help you help Sean."
Jack K Santana [1:47 A.M.]: "I need to know how the item to be retrieved was taken." How was important. Thieves tended to have a certain style. How it was done could be as telling as a fingerprint. "I actually have several questions, which would best discussed in person. What's your schedule look like?"
KiIIer StyIe [1:50 A.M.]: "Of course you do." There was a brief pause. "Generally I'm fairly tied up, but I imagine I can make some time available to go over the details of this particular issue someplace agreeably quiet. Unless you're available immediately, I'll have time tomorrow evening."
Jack K Santana [1:51 A.M.]: "I'm wide open." Derrick was given a wave as he headed into his office and locked himself in. Strange man, that one. "Where would you like to meet?"
KiIIer StyIe [1:55 A.M.]: "Just about anywhere other than where you are right now. Feel free to pick a place and I'll meet you there."
Jack K Santana [1:56 A.M.]: Nice trick, that. One brow rose. Dude knew where she was and couldn't find his little black thing? "I'm hungry. Meet me at the Five and Diner."
KiIIer StyIe [1:59 A.M.]: "I can be there quickly enough."
Jack K Santana [2:01 A.M.]: Jack nodded, even though he couldn't see it. "See you soon." She hit end and shoved her phone back into her jacket pocket, then dug out another twenty, laying it on the bar. "Thanks, Callie." Plucking up her helmet, she headed for the door, following Xavier out.
