Alex Vipond: The show had gone off without a hitch, Nadia had been super well behaved, and today everyone had scattered to explore the city. He didn't often get a chance to see the places he played. Generally it was airport, hotel, radio station, radio station, sound check, radio station, show, hotel, airport. Yeah. Not much time to sight see. Most of what he saw he saw from the airplane window. Not that he was complaining and really the last time he'd gone on tour to sight see had ended... well, let's leave his ex out of it, shall we? What Alex was doing now as eyeballing that huge assed Ferris Wheel there along the Thames. "Decisions, decisions..."
TheIrishWoIf: When learning that the trip to London wouldn't be the entire week, Eithne was more inclined to come along for... well whatever use Alex had for her at least. In fact, she seemed to loosen up a bit too being so close to her 'neck of the woods' as it were. Shortly after the show had ended, Eithne had done a small round of shopping - nothing serious of course, but mostly to pick up something for Nadia. For some reason that little Russian vampire made Eithne think of the other little ones in her family. Dressed in her usual blue jeans and a black long-sleeved shirt with a leather vest over it. Never one bothered too much by temperature - except when it was ungodly hot outside – she didn't bother with a jacket while strolling up from behind and looking up at said Ferris Wheel. "You're telling me... not sure if I ought to board normally or if I can go jumping around to get to the top and perch there." And scare those watching.
Alex Vipond: Alex chuckled at that. "Well if I wanted to end my career I could just ffffttttt...." he gave a superman flying post then smirked as he rolled his gum around to the other side of his mouth. "I wonder how many people fit in each car." And yes he pulled his phone to find out because despite being seven centuries old, he was just that geeky.
TheIrishWoIf: "I'll just launch you off my shoulders and we can say it was an accident. You keep your career, and I can go car top hopping to escape the angry mob of fans who think I put your life in peril." She said - as if she had actually put a lot of thought into it!
Alex Vipond: Alex cracked up, a shake of his head given. "Come on, you mean to tell me it's not your life's dream to move in a slow circle four hundred feet into the air in an egg shaped pod that holds twenty five people and weighs ten tons?"
TheIrishWoIf: Eithne looked from him and back to the Ferris Wheel looking thing and tilted her head to the side as though to consider it before giving a shake of her head. "Nah... not really no. I don't think I need to add that to my bucket list."
Alex Vipond: "Bucket list...." he chuckled, then thought about that a moment, before he looked away studying the people that passed by as they gawked. "Well we could find a market or mall or shops or... something." London was ever changing for all that she remained the same and recently he'd not had a chance to explore.
TheIrishWoIf: "If you want to get in one of those, things go ahead." She said, giving a nod toward the ever moving pods. "Don't let me be a killjoy. I'm capable of finding my own means of entertainment."
Alex Vipond: "I'll wait until Meghan can go. Maybe see if Nadia wa...." Shit. Nadia was not awake. Wouldn't be before his flight home. "We can do it on the next trip to London; we'll have more time between shows then."
TheIrishWoIf: Shrug was given when he mentioned waiting and looked around. "Whatever floats your boat." She replied. "Though just because I'm female doesn't mean I'm an instant shop-a-holic either." She added. Hell, she only bought one or two things anyway! Neither for her personal use either.
Alex Vipond: "I like getting little trinkets from the places I've been." Tourist shit. You'd think he'd have enough crap that he'd collected over the years. He's got a room in his house in LA that's like, snow globes. Could be a snow globe museum if he ever opened it up to the public. It was a phase. For some reason the things had fascinated him for a time.
TheIrishWoIf: "Dust collectors more like it." Eithne replied with a chuckle, though would give a resignation motion as though to imply he lead the way. "Lemme guess, you have a fridge covered in magnets."
Alex Vipond: "Actually I do." he nodded. "Most of those are from local stuff though. Vet's office, radio stations. Got a few from radio stations. I have a really cool one from Quilter Labs in LA." Alex looked at her and gave another nod as they wandered through the crowd. "It's pretty kick ass, it's a little amp."
TheIrishWoIf: "I was thinking it was more of a collection of a variety of states..." She replied, but shrugged. Following him as he led the way through the crowds. "I like my little nest... brick interior, cot for a bed, bathroom, a little microwave..." Yep she was living the high life! "I did not realize you could microwave ramen noodles til I came here."
Alex Vipond: "You can microwave ramen noodles?" One brow rose as he regarded her, and he gave that kind of huh, learn something new every day expression. "When we're on the road it's always junk food. Arms would use the hotel coffee pot. Just dump them in the little pot, and run the water through." He shrugged as he looked at her. "You learn shit on the road with people."
TheIrishWoIf: "Technically all you need is hot water, but in case your hot water doesn't get that high in temp, then you resort to the microwave. Just heat up the water, toss in the noodles, put a lid on it and let it sit for three to four minutes. Volia! Ramen noodles." She said, giving a big flourish of hands as though she could conjure up a bowl right there. Then, looking at the space where said noodles should have appeared, Eithne sighed forlornly. "Suddenly I'm starving." Damn appetite.
Alex Vipond: "Fish and chips?" For a man who didn't need food, and didn't process it as efficiently as a human would, he sure had a love for it. He'd been like a kid at Christmas when he realized he could actually consume food like a real person. Yes there are times when he has a serious Pinoccio complex and where most of his kind are shunning the ways of humans, Alex embraced it. Which was why he was able to blend so much more readily than many.
TheIrishWoIf: "If they don't mind me ordering for three or four even though it's just me." She replied, her stomach giving an approving rumble at the promise of excessive food. "My brother says I need my own buffet to keep up with me." She added with a chuckle.
Alex Vipond: "I don't see them complaining." Alex chuckled and then followed his nose to the nearest place that sold fish and chips. It always cracked him up. Here they were chips. Back home they were French fries, and chips were flat and crunchy. "Here we go." Alex nodded in the direction of the shop and made his way over.
TheIrishWoIf: What cracked her up right now was that he was sniffing out a fish and chips spot while she followed. Talk about unexpected role reversal eh? Eithne still called them chips even stateside, which wasn't always well received, but who didn't like to stir the pot every once in a while? "They would if they don't like putting together so much, but then again shouldn't since that's extra money they earn." She replied.
Alex Vipond: "Exactly. And besides, who's to say we don't have a couple of friends who don't like waiting in line?" Or that half of the order was for him, and really to look at him one would think he needed it. His feet were what kept him grounded in a strong breeze. Heading into the shop, Alex got in line behind a couple of teenagers and then he just stayed put and shut up.
DoII Fangs: It was overcast and Nadia arrived dressed down -- dressed down for Nadia was an expensive dress of lilac with pearls around her neck, and high dollar satin ballet flats. She had a dainty parasol which she carried, further shielding her. Sleepy face. Blink blink. Jack was right beside her, his hand on her shoulder.
TheIrishWoIf: Eithne had already been in the process of pulling her wallet out, but at seeing Alex already armed with his, she raised a brow before putting in that order for four orders of fish and chips. All with a straight face of course since she was serious while those taking said order might've thought otherwise. She still withdrew money with intention to hand it to Alex however, as though to pay for her half of said massive order.
Alex Vipond: Alex just put it on his card since it was easier than converting dollars to pounds and he really wasn't gonna be in town long enough to spend those notes. He smiled at Eithne and shook his head. "On me. What are friends for?" With their order in and their little number taken, he headed for a table, wallet shoved back into his pocket.
DoII Fangs: Nadia was milling with Jack! Only girl there with a parasol!
TheIrishWoIf: At his question about what were friends for, she gave a shrug of her shoulders. "Those who refer to me so fondly don't always stick around that long." She replied, a familiar scent acknowledged with a discreet sniff before making her turn to look and take note of the parasol carrying Nadia. A wave was give toward her and her guardian.
Alex Vipond: Wouldn't be hard to spot. Little Doll, all dressed up, and looking sharp. Finding a table, Alex lifted his hand to draw their attention. Which probably wasn't a good idea considering the proximity of the teens. Not that every teen knew who he was, but when you had hordes of screaming girls mob you at the airport on your way in, and less than a day since you performed in the Park, ... it could happen.
DoII Fangs: She was humming her all-time favorite opera song -- La donna e mobile. It was perfection and she loved having d i n n e r to it. But no dinner right now. Jack saw them first, he up-nodded to them as he led Nadia over. In the middle of humming her opera, she let loose a squeaky adorable yawn then blinked inky lashes up-down-up gobbling up Eithne and Alex with apple cheek grin. Formal like she bowed her head. "Good evening Alex and Eithne!"
Alex Vipond: "Good evening, Nadia." Alex grinned back at her and though they'd been oblivious previously, the pair of teens hearing the tween turned to look. That was when they got shrill, and more heads turned. Fortunately most in the shop were unaware, but the teens certain were coming in armed. One of them grabbed some take out menus from the counter as her friend approached. Alex gave the others he was with an apologetic smile but he was going to be occupied for a few.
TheIrishWoIf: Being gobbled up by inky eyelashes was a new one. Hearing the shrill shrieks from the fans, Eithne groaned - and was not discreet about it either - and let her head roll from one side to the other as though it being more of a calming measure than anything else. Whenever their order was ready, while Alex became occupied with the throngs of eager fans, Eithne took the order to a table to sit - inviting Nadia and Jack of course. Watchful eyes would stay on Alex though occasionally glancing to Nadia also. "Evening Nadia... got something for you." And she'd dig out a little box that she had tucked away inside her vest.
DoII Fangs: Yep, she was gobbling them up still with big doll eyes. Till some girls shrieked for Alex. Nadia, who wasn't accustomed to people behaving like that, looked up to Jack for explanation. As he whispered and explained, she still looked confused. She peeked at Eithne when spoken to and lifted apple cheeks in a grateful, tickled smile. "Thank you." Taking the box, she opened it and s q u e a l e d. "Jack! Look! Is Furby tattoo! Must put it on me so I can --how you say-- rock and be chilled out!" Squeal. "Thank you Eithne!"
Alex Vipond: Alex carried a Sharpie in his hip pocket for a reason and this was it. He signed the menus presented, chit chatted a few moments with the fans, and yes, they took pictures. With an arm around each fan in turn, pictures would be taken. Alex glanced over at his friends, a chuckle given at Nadia's enthusiasm. Once the fans were taken care of, he waved to them and then moved to the chosen table. "Sorry guys."
DoII Fangs: "We be back." They had to tend to some last minute things and then they'd return to rock out. Plus, duh, Nadia had to put her tattoos on, at least one, and get a little more sleep before she'd be a well behaved little demon.
TheIrishWoIf: "Lemme get you some water and we can put one on your ankle like you talked about back at the diner." Eithne replied with a grin... oh yeah, she remembered. Then, unfortunately, they poofed. Turning from where Nadia had been to the superstar after he had apologized, Eithne waved him off. "Whatever, no you're not." She replied with a smirk before starting in on one of her orders of fish and chips.
Alex Vipond: "I have to admit, I love the fans. It's why we go through it. They're the reason, I mean yeah there's that need to create, but the fans are what makes creating so ... special." If that didn't sound like a load of hyper romanticized bullshit he didn't know what did, but it was true. A musician could no more stop playing than he could stop breathing. And even if there were no fans, no audience, that need would still be there. But the fans made the blood, sweat and tears worth it.
TheIrishWoIf: "Save that for a song that you can tribute to your fans or something." She said with a grin. Despite what most thought, Eithne had no qualms with romance, just depended on the kind and for whom or what if that made any sense.
Alex Vipond: Alex was all about romantic notions. How do you think he got his wife? He actually wrote her a message on the sidewalk in front of her house in brightly colored chalk. Have to thank Walgreen's for that one someday. "My songs do come from life experiences. Mine, those of the people around me. I can think of three off the top of my head that I wrote regarding exes. My own."
TheIrishWoIf: Eithne's romantic notion would likely be the equivalent of a cat bringing a dead creature back to its master. Perhaps not so dark, but still. Point being, no one knew even she didn't know. "Welp, if you ever want to take things down a dark path, feel free to hit me up." She said with a nod, having already devoured one of her orders and working on another without showing signs of slowing down.
Alex Vipond: Alex was picking at his, not because he wasn't enjoying it, but because he wasn't hungry and he really needed it to look like he was eating more than he was. "Down a dark path? Such as?"
TheIrishWoIf: She swallowed what she had chewed and looked over at him. Eithne was usually guarded about her past unless speaking in warning, but eh... what did it matter? Especially since it was she who had brought it up right? "Corrupt law enforcement, mad scientists, experiments gone wrong, and mass murder." She listed off as though just rattling off number of items to go to the store for or something.
Alex Vipond: Alex got the idea. Mankind had a tendency to be fearful of what they didn't understand. Eithne, and he himself, were something mankind would not understand. He didn't ask how she got away, the mass murder tended to cover that one. "I think the death metal boys have that covered."
TheIrishWoIf: That brought out a dark chuckle - almost a perfect match to any villainous laugh hear from the movies. "They aren't even close." She replied, but would let it rest from there. Eithne wouldn't enlighten anyone with her gruesome life between her human days and current. However, in a topic switch, though it was still relevant, her tone changed to a more friendlier one. "Speaking of which, we are going to be back in time for me to put some distance between myself and the rest of humanity yes?" This of course referring to the looming threat of the full moon. A lunar event she once admired and now despised.
Alex Vipond: "Yep. Leaving in a few hours in fact." he checked his watch, which he wore on his right wrist to keep it from interferring with his fretting hand. "As a matter of fact we should be heading back that way to meet up with the others."
TheIrishWoIf: Eithne blinked, swallowing again, then looking to the last bit she hadn't finished. "Alrighty, I'm just gonna eat this on the way then." She said, standing up while stuffing a few more chips into her mouth and pushing her chair in with her hip. Carrying her take out in one hand, she used her others to gather up the trash and took it to a nearby trash can.
Alex Vipond: Alex rolled what was left of his up in the paper from the basket and set the basket on the return before stepping out into a light drizzle that had started. More like a mist, really. Seattle weather. Alex should feel right at home. Except the buildings were like, older and everyone had cool accents. He reached into the cone of paper from having rolled up the remnants of his meal and popped a chip into his mouth. "What is it you do?" He knew he'd asked her, but at the moment he couldn't recall her answer.
TheIrishWoIf: "Jack of all Trades." She replied... actually, she couldn't recall when he had asked her that... but ah well. "Least stateside I am." Did he forget she too had that 'cool' accent? Being Irish and all! "My brother and I own a pub together in Ireland." Now why wasn't she there instead of Seattle? She couldn't rightly say... but for some reason things were the way they were and both herself and her brother felt that there was a reason for it that had yet to be discovered.
Alex Vipond: Not at all, but now, here, he was inundated with them. He was the odd man out, not the other way around. "Ah. Silent partner. Things still a bit rocky there. I've been, but to be honest the issues that the country has weren't apparent. Maybe it was the area, or maybe it was my brief time there." He wasn't sure which.
TheIrishWoIf: "Depends on where you go. Some are plenty fine in letting things go, others no so much. They just don't tell you that in their travel ads or make it a big public ordeal anymore." Eithne replied, munching on what was left over as they walked. "However, it's best to let sleeping dogs lie too... no one wants to be reminded about the violence. So if you do go again, don't ask about it."
Alex Vipond: "Oh trust me, I don't." he shook his head. "I do my best not to get involved in local issues when abroad." Alex finished off his left overs and crumpled the paper up, tossing it into a waste basket on the street as they passed it.
TheIrishWoIf: "You'd be surprise how many want to talk about nothing but the past and ruin a good mood in a local pub. My brother tells the tourists that come in to go to a bloody museum or library to find their answers." In other words, leave them alone.
Alex Vipond: "Good advice." he nodded. "You know I don't think I've really gone and done the touristy thing, since my tour as a young man." As if he were oh so old looking now, but he meant as a young human man. "I mean sure I've lived lots of different places, but to just go somewhere to visit... My honeymoon and our anniversary. And Christmas..." Those were the only times he could recall going somewhere just for the fun of it. Not because he was moving or because it was business.
TheIrishWoIf: When learning that the trip to London wouldn't be the entire week, Eithne was more inclined to come along for... well whatever use Alex had for her at least. In fact, she seemed to loosen up a bit too being so close to her 'neck of the woods' as it were.
