Wrinkled Black: Needless to say, Adrienne hardly slept the night before. She'd been tossing and turning through half of it, kept awake by horrible thoughts. What if the baby had two heads? Extra limbs? Fur? Or, worst of all...what if it wasn't there? So that's why she was letting Alex drive, her hand holding tightly on to his as she tried not to be ill. Though this time she couldn't tell if it was hormones or nerves.
Alex Vipond: Suffice it to say that Alex was up early and ready to roll long before appointment time. He'd made breakfast. Whether Adrienne could eat it or not was another matter entirely. Neither one had gotten much sleep though Alex's was more due to excitement than worry. Power of positive thinking and all that. He firmly believed their baby would be fine. Pulling the Range Rover into the lot, yes he was getting into the habit of driving it, rather than Jag or the Benz, on simple seating capacity - neither of those would be worth a damn for a car seat - Alex parked the car. Popping his belt he pulled the door open and moved around to pull Adrienne's door open, hand offered out to her and a smile given.
Wrinkled Black: Oh, she was excited, too. Fer shure! Just...anxious, as well. Her smile widened at the sight of Alex's. "You're adorable, you know that?" Taking his hand with a chuckle, she slid out of the car and closed the door behind her, leaning up to give him a kiss. She gave his hand a squeeze before she was leading him to the stairs of office buildings. Many of the offices had their window shades up, enjoying the sunshine, but one had all of them lowered, which made Adrienne smirk. "Wonder which one..."
Alex Vipond: "Hey now, you can't judge a window by its dressing..." He smirked, double tapped the lock button to set the alarm and returned the gentle squeeze to her hand as they made their way up the stairs. "So how did you find this one?" The gum in his mouth was being worked over time as they made their way up and in.
Wrinkled Black: Crap. She'd kind of been hoping he would ask her that. She tried not to cringe as they headed for suite A. "Prince recommended her." Outside the door was a simple name plaque that read "Dr. R.J. Hunt, M.D." and a number key pad under the doorknob. She tried the knob first and when that didn't work, she pulled her phone from her back pocket so she could open up her notes. "They gave me a PIN over the phone..." Muttered as she looked for saidPIN. Finding it, she punched it in, which unlocked the door and allowed her to push it open.
Alex Vipond: Prince.... "Does he know about the baby?" first question after his eyebrow dropped back to its usual level on his brow, and then came: "Can she be trusted?"
Daisy: They were in the business of discretion, after all. Didn't want some random off the street wandering in and asking too many questions. The waiting room and reception area were painted in friendly blues and creams, the paintings on the walls nautical in theme. Behind the desk was a perky brunette who smiled at them. "Good morning, Ms. Vance." She then slid a clipboard over the desk toward them. "We just have some paperwork that needs to be filled out before you can see the doctor."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne hesitated, glancing about briefly before answering. "I didn't specify why I needed a supe-friendly doctor." He was a fairly intelligent demon, though, so he was bound to figure it out. "He's a douchebag, but his sources have always been reliable." A deep breath was taken in as she approached the front desk. "I guess we'll find out." That was muttered to Alex before she smiled at the receptionist. "Good morning, thank you." Taking up the board, she took Alex's hand in the other once more and moved to sit in one of the waiting room chairs.
Alex Vipond: Cue the nerves. Just the fact that Prince knew Adrienne was in need of a doctor made his skin crawl. Alex moved with her to the desk and smiled, following as Adrienne led him to the chairs in the waiting room. He sat down beside her and crossed one leg over the other, free hand going to drag through his hair and fuss with it a bit before he started looking around the room, taking it all in. Finally he looked down at the clipboard to see what kind of information was needed for a doctor's visit these days. In his day a servant was sent to fetch a physician and though he'd heard things through friends, internet, TV, he really didn't know what a pain in the ass the modern process was.
Wrinkled Black: It was pretty standard stuff, Adrienne's contact info already filled out by the office, so most of what she had to fill out was an emergency contact--Alex, of course--and a few more personal details. Details that weren't standard, such as species, and the field next to date of birth had her snickering. "Check this out...’Please indicate the age at which your magical abilities began, you stopped aging, were bitten, turned, etc...' They really do cover the bases, don't they?" With a smirk, she filled in the age she first shifted, plus the estimated age she stopped aging. Date of last period, name of baby's father (if applicable), etc etc. There was a glaring lack of space for insurance information, since their types didn't tend to have any. Nothing real, at any rate. These types of services were strictly out of pocket. Once she had the paperwork completed, she stood and returned the clipboard to the receptionist, then sat back down.
Daisy: Daisy took the clipboard and beamed. "Thank you, Miss Vance. It'll be just a few minutes." She then stood and disappeared through a door.
Alex Vipond: "Yeah I don't think those are questions your standard insurance carrier would ask." He chuckled, and watched as she filled in the blanks, because yes, he was curious, and no, he'd not asked those specific details. One could learn a lot by side seat form reading. "I wonder if they keep a separate set of files, you know in case of legal issues and the possibility of having to release records..." he made air quotes with his fingers, "Normal files." Alex watched as she got up and headed back to the desk with the clipboard and then took her hand once she'd resumed he seat. "You think she's ever seen a case like ours?"
Wrinkled Black: Many of the questions he knew the answer to already, or close to the answer. She'd been thirteen at her first shift, early twenties when the aging stopped--hard to pinpoint that one specifically. Number of children born, three, number of known miscarriages, five. "Probably. Could be her connection to Prince." She shrugged. He was good at that sort of thing. At his question regarding their situation, she shook her head. "I don't think so. She said it's mostly weres that she deals with, that vampires were kind of rare for her." How often did a vampire get the sniffles, after all?
Alex Vipond: There was that. He nodded, and no he'd not known how many miscarriages. It was sad actually that she'd lost so many. And to have lost her children as well... Alex couldn't imagine the kind of pain that had to have caused. He slipped his arm around her and gave her a smile. He glanced toward the door the nurse or whoever she was had disappeared behind, waiting for it to open up again. "Rare but not unheard of." Idly he wondered what could cause a vampire to seek out a doctor. You know, other than their reason.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne leaned her head against his shoulder as they waited, hardly noticing her knee bouncing up and down quickly in anticipation. "I've never actually been to a doctor. Not a...y'know...real one, that is." Only reason she wasn't completely freaking out is because she's watched House, MD and Scrubs. Maybe not the most reliable sources, but entertaining!
Alex Vipond: Alex hadn't been seen by a doctor since his birth. This was all new to him as well and though he wasn't freaking out, he was nervous. More so due to the connection the woman had with Prince than anything. Alex would call the man a weasel if it weren't for the fact that it would be doing weasels a disservice.
Stephanie: Without too much waiting, another nurse popped her head out and smiled. "Adrienne?" She then held the door open, gesturing for the two of them to follow her.
Alex Vipond: When the door opened and the head popped out, Alex popped up from his seat like a jack in the box. He smiled at Adrienne, hand still linked with hers and then looked to the nurse and smiled.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne couldn't help but laugh at how quickly Alex shot up from the chair. Standing, she pressed a kiss to his cheek, giving his hand a squeeze before following the nurse back, down the hall and into an exam room. "Someone's excited..."
Stephanie: The blonde nurse just laughed, closing the door behind them. "They usually are." She winked to Alex before gesturing Adrienne to the exam table. "Just gonna take a few vitals..." Once Adrienne was settled, Stephanie set about to get her temperature and blood pressure. When she was finished and everything was jotted down, she smiled to them before heading out. "Dr. Hunt will be right in."
Alex Vipond: Alex chuckled, a smile given over the kiss to his cheek and then once they were in the back, he settled into a chair. "So this is what a doctor's office is like...." Yeah, it was a first to be certain.
Wrinkled Black: Once the nurse was gone, Adrienne lightly massaged her bicep where the cuff pinched. Ow. "They really do go the extra way for comfort, don't they?" Said with an exaggerated shift on the table to make the paper crinkle, snickering.
Alex Vipond: "All the bells and whistles." Alex chuckled, as he leaned back in the seat and dragged his hand through his hair once more. "And they're going to do the ultrasound today?" Just making sure. He likely had asked this question atleast once if not twice already.
Wrinkled Black: "Yes, babe." Sitting forward with her forearms on the tops of her thighs, Adrienne grinned and tipped her head toward the big monitor station next to the table. "I think that's what that thing is for."
Alex Vipond: "Oh, yeah...." he looked at the machine, studying it for a long while. "I wanna see...." he looked toward the door as if waiting for it to open. Right. Now...
Wrinkled Black: She was trying so hard not to crack up. "Don't you go touching things.." Can't take him anywhere.
Alex Vipond: "Who me?" he looked back at Adrienne, trying to be completely serious and somewhat affronted, but he couldn't hold it. His lips twitched and then he was cracking up.
Wrinkled Black: "Yes, you." Her eyes rolled, but then she was cracking up as well. "You're like a kid in a candy store."
Alex Vipond: "Can't help it when I got the sweet stuff." He grinned at her, and then glanced toward the door again. "Is this like normal? They put you in a little room and pretty much leave you there while your mind goes in all the directions that could get one kicked out of a doctor's office?" He looked back at her. "They've got gloves and tongue depressors. We could so make something..."
Rebecca Hunt MD: "It is a scare tactic that can come in handy. Harder to lie when your nerves are rattled." Because, yes, the door opened just as Alex had looked away. But the woman was laughing, clearly teasing. "I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting. I'm Rebecca Hunt." Closing the door behind her, she smiled brightly to them, offering her hand in turn. "It's nice to meet you, Adrienne, and you must be...” a glance down to her folder, "Alex?"
Alex Vipond: Taking the woman's hand as he rose, he chuckled and nodded. "Yes, I am. It's a pleasure to meet you Doctor." He looked back at Adrienne, trying really hard not to smirk as he mouthed 'busted' to her.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, sitting more upright and shaking the doctor's hand. "Likewise, and yes. The oldest child." Said with a wink to Alex, shaking her head.
Alex Vipond: "Hey now, I resemble that remark..." he retook his seat, hand dragging through his hair and his gum rolling around to the other side of his mouth.
Rebecca Hunt MD: Rebecca chuckled, moving to set the folder down on the counter, open so she could check her notes. "Now I understand you're almost ten weeks along?" She glanced to Adrienne and when she got a nod, she continued. "Okay. So today we'll do an ultrasound, measure the baby to make sure our dates are lined up right, also monitor the baby's heartbeat. Depending on how you're measuring, we may also be able to do a blood test that can determine if there's any chromosome abnormalities and also the baby's gender." Before they got too excited, though, she leaned back against the counter so she could face them both directly. Spiel time. "Now, due to this particular genetic make-up, this test may or may not be very conclusive. But it's non-invasive, just a little bit of blood drawn, and I can assure you that neither your sample or your results would ever leave the premises." Privacy and all that. She then looked to them expectantly so they could offer their thoughts on the matter.
Wrinkled Black: Okay, yeah, discussing with someone else that there was in fact a baby in question was pretty exciting. Adrienne nodded as she listened, reaching to take Alex's hand. She looked to him and took a deep breath, then back to thedoctor as she let it out. "If it's doable, then yes, I'd like to do that." She was really curious as to what kind of DNA results they'd get.
Alex Vipond: Alex had a somewhat glazed expression on his face when he looked from the doctor to Adrienne and back. "Chromosome abnormalities? Okay, I thought chromosomes determined gender." His hand in Adrienne's he laced their fingers.
Rebecca Hunt MD: She smiled, nodding. "They do, but they also determine just about everything else, too. For example, a regular human's DNA is made up of twenty-three pairs of chromosomes. That twenty-third is what determines gender, whether it's XX for female or XY for male. But if there's an abnormality in others, they could result in some defects. For example, if there ends up being three of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two, that causes Down Syndrome." She held her hands up before they started getting too freaked out. "Now, keep in mind, it's not common. Between a vampire and a shape shifter, it could be impossible. We simply don't know, so that's why we like to perform the test."
Alex Vipond: "Okay so we're shooting for two on that one." He nodded, and yeah, if it weren't for that gum his mouth would be dry at this point. He didn't take into consideration things of that sort. "Oh, yeah, definitely," he nodded, all in on that one. “I mean I know my DNA is altered due to my turning, but ... Until a few months ago, I never would have thought this possible, so yes, please, any and all tests that are needed."
Wrinkled Black: The glazed over look was kinda cute and Adrienne couldn't help but smile, her fingers tight around his. The whole concept was horrifying, no doubt, but Hunt sounded like she knew what she was doing--as best as she could, anyway, given their circumstances. She nodded along in agreement with Alex, glancing to the ultrasound monitor. "And we can't tell the gender through the ultrasound yet, right?" See? She's been doing lots of reading!
Rebecca Hunt MD: "Right." Rebecca nodded and gestured to a poster on the wall that had illustrations of fetuses in different stages. "At this point, any genitalia that starts to show looks the same whether it be a boy or a girl. But provided that chromosome is normal," 'normal' for them, anyway, "the test is really quite accurate. Mistakes can be made with an ultrasound." She grinned at that.
Alex Vipond: "So the chromosome test will say what gender the baby is, even though it's not formed yet..." That was was cool. "But does it still look like a little alien?" Yes, he'd been hitting the net and looking at all kinds of baby stuff. More times than not he got lost in baby land and forgot what he was doing. Really it was a miracle he'd gotten as much done as he had on the new album.
Rebecca Hunt MD: Laughing, she pushed off the counter and started to get the machine ready. "You could say that, yes. And that's why we'll do a 2D image today. We offer 3D, but at this stage it tends to creep people out a bit." She smirked at that, then turned back to the couple. "Now, before we get started, do you have any particular questions for me?" This was an exciting time, but they were still in uncharted territory here.
Alex Vipond: "Um...." Alex looked from the doctor to Adrienne, trying to figure out what to ask. Had he been asked the day before he could have thought of all sorts of questions. Mental Note. Write shit down to be asked at the next appointment. He looked back at the doctor. "I .... am drawing a complete blank."
Wrinkled Black: She had every desire to poke fun of him for drawing a blank, but she wasn't much better off. But then their discussion earlier came to mind and she tipped her head curiously. "If it's not too personal, what's your affiliation withSilas Prince?" Not that the doc wasn't about to get all up close and personal with Adrienne here, it seemed only fair.
Alex Vipond: Alex's eyes went back to Adrienne as she asked that and he nodded. "Yes, good question." Looking back at the doctor, he was almost afraid of what her answer would be.
Rebecca Hunt MD: There was a moment's hesitation before Rebecca smiled. Since the question wasn't really related to any procedures done today, she continued getting set up. "You're not the first to ask. It's strictly business. But I can assure you the fact that he refers clients, helps fund us, and keeps us off the usual radar, is about the only nice thing I can say about him."
Alex Vipond: "Does he ask for anything in return?" Yep, that one slipped right the fuck out there before he had a chance to pull it back.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne almost nudged him for it, but she was too curious.
Rebecca Hunt MD: She couldn't help a chuckle, stepping to the table to help Adrienne lean back and get into position. "You'll want to pull your shirt up just a bit..." She then looked back to Alex, shaking her head. "Silas Prince never does anything for free. I've made...an arrangement with him that's not too detrimental to my dignity." In that case, she was one of the lucky ones. "But...it's a sacrifice I'm willing to pay to be able to do my work and help others."
Alex Vipond: "Well if you need additional funding, just let me know. I'd be glad to help." he nodded and he meant it. What was the point of having wealth if you couldn't do good with it?
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne just nodded, settling back and tugging up her t-shirt. She was in a comfortable pair of yoga pants that hung low on her hips. Lying mostly flat, the bump was more noticable. Her smile warmed for Alex's offer and she looked back to the doctor with an understanding expression. "We're not big fans of him, either." She understood the woman's situation all too well.
Alex Vipond: Alex looked over at Adrienne and yeah, he had to fight to keep his hand off the bump. "Rolling around in a cactus patch, naked has to be more fun than having to deal with him."
Rebecca Hunt MD: "I appreciate that, Alex, thank you. I do have to tread lightly." She needed more clients and a more sure footing in the local medical community before she could mutiny against the demon. She couldn't help chuckling, nodding. "Agreed. Okay, you two ready to see your baby?" Rebecca smiled to the both of them before focusing on Adrienne. "Sorry, this is going to be cold." She then went about applying the clear jelly to Adrienne's stomach before settling the wand.
Wrinkled Black: Yeah, she squeaked a little at the jelly, but her grin was so damn big right now. Since there was nothing up on the monitor yet, she was reaching to take Alex's hand, watching him.
Alex Vipond: "Yes." Alex nodded, excited, fingers lacing with Adrienne's once more as he did more than lean, he rose and moved closer, watching the monitor. He gave Adrienne a little smile and then his eyes were right back on the monitor.
Rebecca Hunt MD: She smiled and settled in on her stool, moving the wand until she was able to get a clear picture. When it came up on the screen, she watched the couple out of the corner of her eye. Because, well, it was always awesome to see. "Just gonna take some measurements of your womb here..." Talking almost more to herself as she tapped along the keyboard. Then with another shift of the wand, there it was right on the screen. "And there's your little alien, Alex." Grin.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne lifted her head so she could see a little better and when she did, she gasped. "Oh my God..." And yup, her free hand flew to cover her mouth because she almost started sobbing right then and there.
Alex Vipond: He couldn't stop grinning as he watched said little alien move around. "Hey there, Peanut...." He smiled; then looked at Adrienne, and yeah, he was moved to tears, but laughing. "That's our baby."
Wrinkled Black: Laughter through tears was one of the best emotions ever. "I can't believe it's moving around so much!" When that nubby little arm wiggled, she damn near squealed. "Peanut says 'hi dad!'" Looking back to Alex, she grinned andpulled him in for a kiss.
Rebecca Hunt MD: "Yeah, definitely an active one..." Rebecca was chuckling, and with a few more clicks she was monitoring the baby's heart beat, letting the sound fill the room.
Alex Vipond: Alex kissed her, forehead pressed to hers for a moment before he lifted his head to look at the baby again. "Oh my God, I have to get this on video...." He pulled his phone and pulled up the camera, shooting video of the monitor and when the baby's heart beat came up, he looked back at Adrienne. "There you to, Baby. The sound you've been missing."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne's eyes widened when she heard the heartbeat, unable to hold back the tears the fell down her cheeks. "That's so amazing.. It's so fast!" She looked back to the doctor, wondering if that's normal.
Rebecca Hunt MD: "I'll be sure to print off some pictures for you, too." Said with a grin at Alex. She then nodded at Adrienne's question, jotting down some notes. "170's are pretty normal, this one's at about 173 beats per minute. It'll start to slow down closer to term." Rebecca continued to measure, from the top of the head to the rear. "Looks like you were pretty spot-on with the timing, so your due date should be..." After adding some numbers to the program, she nodded. "I'd say February 4th. Of course that's usually give or take about two weeks." Turning back to Adrienne, she continued to move the wand a little so the picture remained on the screen. "Now you told me on the phone your others came early?"
Alex Vipond: Alex stopped recording to look back at the screen at the live version. "February 4th." He nodded, and added the date to his phone. "And about the test thing to make sure all the chromosomes are where they should be?"
Wrinkled Black: She nodded, swallowing hard. "The first came at only about six months. The others were about a month early." Those first few weeks were rocky as hell.
Rebecca Hunt MD: Rebecca smiled softly, reaching to put a reassuring hand on Adrienne's knee. "We'll monitor you closely. Should that happen, I have an in at the NICU across the street. Things have come a long way since then." With Alex's question, she nodded and turned off the machine, helping Adrienne to clean up the gel. "The results should only take a week, possibly less. If there's anything of concern, I'll have you guys come in and we can go over the results together."
Alex Vipond: "So we're looking at bed rest here? And if so, when?" Adrienne was going to go bat-shit. Not just from the confinement, but from the hovering. Talk about bubble wrap and a hamster ball.... "So no news is good news." Alex gave another nod. "Oh, and I read somewhere that people are now saving their baby's cord blood in case they have issues later in life. Is that something we can do and if so, how?"
Rebecca Hunt MD: Rebecca chuckled. "It's possible bed rest may not be necessary. I'd like you to come in for an ultrasound every four to six weeks, though, just so we can keep an eye out." While she spoke, she started to prep for the blood test, wrapping a latex tourniquet around Adrienne's arm. "Cord blood banking can be done. We don't really have the storage facilities here, though. But we've got time, I'm sure some arrangements could be made."
Wrinkled Black: "Yeah, I'd like to hold off on going mental for as long as I can." If it meant the baby's health, so be it of course. But still. Alex was allowed to hover, he just shouldn't be surprise if she gets testy with him at some point. She can pee on her own, thankyouverymuch! Did she mention how adorable Alex was? The fact that he'd done some of this research may have just bumped up that adorable level. Her head tipped curiously in a silent question to him. They may have a solution for the storage, what with his company, no?
Alex Vipond: "I'm on the board of a company, called LFE. They do research on blood borne diseases, and how to correct them. They also clone blood. I don't know how you're fixed for donors, but if you ever need anything, just call corporate in Boston. They may be able to help with storage needs as well. They're not a medical facility they're research and development, but I can see to it that certain considerations are made."
Rebecca Hunt MD: "If you've got a business card, I'd love to look into that. Most of my patients don't like their blood being sent out, for the obvious reasons." Fall into the wrong hands and agents in dark suits and sunglasses come swooping in. And speaking of blood, she was sticking that needle into Adrienne's vein as gently as she could to draw a sample. "But if something could be arranged that would ensure complete discretion, I'd certainly be on board."
Alex Vipond: "Sure." Alex nodded and pulled his wallet, digging through it to find a card. He checked it over to make sure there wasn't anything already written on it, because face it, he tended use cards as post it notes at times, and then he pulled his Sharpie from his hip pocket, cap removed with his teeth and he was scribbling down the name of the person, David Lancaster, that she'd need to speak to. "Just let Lancaster know that you talked to me, and to give me a call if he has any questions. He'll make sure that whatever you need to make happen, will happen." He spoke around the cap as he wrote, and then recapped the Sharpie, the card offered out to the doc.
Wrinkled Black: All the while she was focusing on Alex, trying not to watch what the doctor was doing She was already feeling kinda woozy with the blood being drawn.
Rebecca Hunt MD: Don't worry, Adrienne, she was entirely focused on what she was doing. She didn't take the card from Alex until she was done and cleaned up, a ball of cotton secured by a bandage at the crook of Adrienne's arm. "I will, thank you." The card was tucked into her lap coat pocket, then she looked to Adrienne. "I want you to just hang out for a bit, okay? I'll have Stephanie bring in some juice. Then once the results come back, I'll give you a call." She smiled to them both, offering her hand out once more.
Alex Vipond: "Thank you, Doctor." Alex smiled at her, his hand brushing Adrienne's hair back from her forehead before he leaned down to drop a kiss to her lips.
Wrinkled Black: "Thanks, Doctor." She was trying not to cry all over again, honest. When Alex kissed her she returned it eagerly, her hand reaching up to grip his shirt tightly, if briefly.
Stephanie: After the doctor left, Stephanie returned with a juice box for Adrienne, straw already punched in, and an envelope of informational packets. Plus the ultrasound print-out! She checked the bandage on Adrienne's arm, then smiled to them. "You should probably sit tight for another ten minutes, but you're welcome to stay for as long as you need." Another smile, then she ducked out and closed the door quietly behind her to give them some privacy.
Alex Vipond: Alex's eyes on hers, he smiled, another kiss given her, and the tight grip on his shirt causing a chuckle. "We're having a baby." Not like they didn't know it before but it just seemed more real now, having seen the little peanut. When Stephanie came back in, Alex straightened and smiled to her. "Thank you." He looked back at Adrienne when the nurse, type person was gone, and would help her sit up if she was ready. He'd even keep his arms around her to keep her stable and hold her juice box for her.
Wrinkled Black: "Yeah, we are." Like, for real! Her hand moved over her stomach, still completely in awe. "I can't believe how far things have come, that we could actually see it!" She smiled widely up at the nurse, thanking her for the juice box and taking a sip from it. Once they were alone again, she leaned against Alex; not because she was weak, but because she savored the comfort. "I love you."
Alex Vipond: "I love you." he smiled forehead to her temple, his arms around her. "And this baby is going to be so spoiled...." his smile grew, his hand moving to her belly. "Two halves, making a whole." He kissed her temple, and slid his hand along her arm.
Wrinkled Black: "Damn right it will be." Adrienne grinned, leaning into that kiss to her temple. She then sat up a little, cupping his cheek and studying his eyes. "I know this is crazy fast, and neither of us meant for this to happen, but...I'm so glad it did, and with you."
Alex Vipond: Smiling at her he nodded. "I am too. Everything happens for a reason. I know that. Even if I don't understand the how of it, I have faith that it's what is meant to be."
Wrinkled Black: Another kiss was given before she took a deep breath. "What do you say to hightailing it out of here, hm?" She needed some air.
Alex Vipond: "I say that's a pretty damned good idea." he dropped another kiss to her and then stepped back so she could slide off the table, his hands taking hers to help her.
Wrinkled Black: Despite the joy of seeing and hearing the Peanut, it was a doctor's office and they were only comfortable for so long. She took his offered help, sliding to her feet, then reached for the packet of information. As they headed out,she flipped open the folder and grinned at the ultrasound photos. "Oh, these are so going on the fridge..."
Alex Vipond: "Totally." Alex was already posting shit from the pictures and video he'd taking on his phone. A stop to see Daisy, the bill settled up, and then they were heading out to the car. "We should tell our friends about her. Get her practice built up so she doesn't have to rely on He Who Shall Not Be Named."
Wrinkled Black: A smile and wave of fingers were given to Daisy on the way out, then she was looping her arm with Alex's. "Oh, we definitely will. I just hope whatever contract he has her in isn't too....binding." Bastard was a lawyer, after all. On top of being a demon.
Alex Vipond: "It would be nice. I just have visions of Vader choking people out and telling them to pray he doesn't alter their contract further...." He opened the car door for her, and dropped a kiss to her lips before she slid in.
Wrinkled Black: "It's not far from the truth, unfortunately. If he's got you tightly enough by the short ones..." Adrienne shuddered at the thought, but she smiled for the kiss, returning it before she climbed into the front seat. "Thank you." Buckled and settled, she plucked one of the ultrasound pictures and reached to prop it up on the dashboard, grinning. Then she was thumbing through the packet, trying not to feel too overwhelmed.
Alex Vipond: Once she was in, Alex closed the door and rounded the nose, sliding in behind the wheel and starting it up. Watching her, and studying that pictures she settled onto the dash, he couldn't help but smile. Putting the car into reverse, he looked over his shoulder and backed out of the spot. Shifting, he rolled forward slowly, his gaze unable to not go to that picture. He smiled and chuckled; gaze back out onto the road as he merged with traffic. He glanced over at her as she went through the stuff they'd been given. "How are you feeling?"
Wrinkled Black: "Tired, but okay. The juice helped." She probably would've been sitting in the front seat with her eyes clamped shut if it hadn't. But she was doing all right. She chuckled quietly, shaking her head. "A little overwhelmed. It's amazing the amount of shit kids need these days..." She had in her hand a sample registry checklist; it had so many things on it, she was flipping it over to scan over the back. "We didn't need half this stuff when Louisa was born."
Alex Vipond: "What kind of stuff?" Alex glanced at her, as he nosed out to make a left, waiting for traffic to clear before he rolled on through the intersection.
