Alex Vipond: Alex had a spring in his step as he moved, and there was a smile on his face that never was far from the surface. Even when he was concentrating on work, that little smile would at times tug at his lips. Once he had the finishing touches on the current track, he played it back, listening as the song poured out from the speakers in the control room.
Ian Lighter: ::he was there, listening, observing, learning ::
Alex Vipond: Once the play through was done, he saved it and then leaned back. "Three down, several more to go." Alex chuckled. "It's a good thing I'm not signed with a label and can work on my own deadline."
Ian Lighter: What has you in such a good mood today, Alex?
Alex Vipond: Alex looked over at Ian and smiled. "Just had a good night, is all." And yeah the grin was back in full force.
Ian Lighter: ::he knew that cat and canary grin and grinned back::
Alex Vipond: "I'm gonna marry her one of these days. And yeah I know that propriety says it should be before children but neither of us want to rush into that, especially since I just got divorced...." And then there was the oh yeah, moment. "Which reminds me: Daily Mail ran a short blurb about my and Adrienne's mini vacation to Vancouver. Some pap shot us at the beach making out near our BnB. I tweeted a not so vague, very indirect response in regard to it since some commenters seem to think Adrienne is a home wrecker... which couldn't be further from the truth, we reconnected after the divorce was filed. So yeah I tweeted that we reconnected in April to dispel those notions. Don't know how effective it's going to be but the paps are likely to be out in droves now so... heads up."
Ian Lighter: ::a nod:: Life would be so much simpler if people minder their own friggin' business.
Alex Vipond: "It would be but then they'd have nothing to distract them from the shit they have to deal with on the day to day."
Ian Lighter: Yeah I suppose. Its ther sensationalism that's so annoying, the lies that are told., just to stir people up.
Alex Vipond: "Preaching to the choir, brother." Alex chuckled. "TMZ ran an article, completely unfounded, about a year or two ago, that supposedly some video showed Meghan and I in flagrante on the roof of the Gator...." He shook his head. "it wasn't us on the video and I can't say in all honesty that we didn't have relations on the premises, but that particular incident, was not us."
Ian Lighter: Did you do anything about it?
Alex Vipond: "My lawyer released a press statement, saying it was not my wife and I. Of course that doesn't mean TMZ retracted what they publish and really they never do. They leave their bullshit there to be taken as fact, but if I sue every rag that makes false claims about my life, I'll spend all my time in court."
Ian Lighter: I can see that, but.. maybe if a few of the rags were held accountable, there might be fewer in accurate posts.
Alex Vipond: "Yeah but... you also lend weight to their claims. It's better to point and laugh and make them seem as ridiculous as they are than to lend weight to the accusation and make a mountain out of a mole hill. And that's a lot easier to do now than it was twenty years ago. Social media has changed the way we can combat such claims."
Ian Lighter: I guess that's right. You on all the social groups? Or does your PR person keep up with that?
Alex Vipond: "Well, I'm Twitter and Facebook, and somewhere there's a long abandoned Myspace page, and yeah I have a PR person...." He chuckled. "Adrienne." Pausing, Alex added: "And no.... the relationship was before the employment. I don't chase the hired help. Which is likely why I have had gay rumors circulating. Have you seen my lawyer? My accountant?" Alex shook his hand in that ooooh hot gesture.
Ian Lighter: ::he grinned:: I should probably not hit on them, huh?
Alex Vipond: Alex pulled his phone and started digging through to find the images of his hired help. "Ash is my accountant...."
He scrolled through until he found Naja's picture. "Naja. My lawyer."
"What you do is up to you. Naja is actually based in LA, but she's licensed in California, Washington, Florida and New York."
Ian Lighter: ::whistled:: Both are beautiful.
Alex Vipond: "But yeah between them and my insurance chick..." he paused to see if he had a picture of Izzy anywhere, should since their faces were attached to their contact information.
"Yep, three reasons right there why gay rumors kept circulating. No one believed that a straight man wouldn't tap those just because he pays them a retainer."
Ian Lighter: How would they know you weren’t?
Alex Vipond: "If I were caught fucking any one of them. Apparently it's a damned if you do, and damned if you don't situation."
Ian Lighter: The whole point is even if you aren’t caught with any of them, people are going to think you are even if you don’t get caught simply because they are all beautiful.,
Alex Vipond: "I once quashed rumors that I was. By denying the fact that I was sleeping with my lawyer, I opened myself up to even more rumors. It's a vicious cycle. You get to the point where you just keep quiet about as much as you can. Somethings, obviously, you can't.... But the little shit, fuck it. Don't sweat it."
Ian Lighter: ::he nodded, impressed with Alex's insouciance. working with Alex is an education in itself::
Alex Vipond: "In the meantime, I'm going to try and keep Adrienne out of that shit as much as I can. The fact that the Daily Mail is already touting her as the 'Mystery Woman' is annoying enough, but they gave it a one line blurb," and here he made air quotes with his fingers "Sources confirmed that Vipond, 34, has officially been divorced from his wife of two years since May..." Alex shook his head. "And of course there were the obligatory, grainy and hard to tell what the hell was happening photos of Adrienne and I at the beach and ... yes we were making out a bit." He shrugged.
Ian Lighter: Not a thing wrong with that.
