Wrinkled Black: It'd been difficult this morning for either of them to get out of bed. But Alex had work he needed to be doing, so it was Adrienne who crawled out first in an attempt to get him moving. Her motivation? A promise to stop by the studio later with lunch so he could take a break. She kept the promise, bringing Jack in the Box because, well... milkshakes! It was a sickness. After finishing and cleaning up, Alex had wandered out for what Adrienne assumed was a cigarette, so she snuck into the studio and slid onto the bench behind the keyboard. Fingertips brushed over the keys as if it had been ages since she'd touched them. Because, well, it had been, even with the piano at the house. A few random notes were played while she thought about what to play.
Alex Vipond: Alex had in fact, wandered out back for a cigarette. During his smoke, he'd struck up a conversation with their neighbor who owned corner store and sold rocks. Literally, geodes, of all type and size, fashioned into art, jewelry and home decor. Alex promised to bring the 'wife' in and check out the latest and greatest and then he headed back inside. Adrienne wasn't in the control room, and he looked through the window into the studio and saw her sitting there at the keyboard. He couldn't resist, he started recording, just in case she began to play.
Wrinkled Black: She would suppose the 'wife' sounded a little better than the 'missus'. That just made her sound old. Though, really, either would have her grinning! She did eventually start playing, something she had to dig into the mental archives for: Neil Diamond's "Hello Again." An oldie but a goodie, it'd been a while since she'd played it so it wasn't perfect, but not at all bad as she did it from memory. Adrienne was more of an orchestral performer so she didn't sing along to it, just sorta hummed where she could.
Alex Vipond: Alex listened, smiling as she played, and he had no doubt whatsoever in his mind that they would produce some damned talented kids. As the last note faded, he killed the recording, and then rose from the computer and headed into the studio. "You should play with me when we do our next show."
Wrinkled Black: "Mmrm.." Her nose scrunched a bit as she continued playing, something quiet and in a similar vein. It was actually an accompaniment to that piece of violin music she'd gifted him. However, it'd been decades and occasionally she flinched when she didn't get a note right. Eventually she stopped and looked up at him, grinning. "If I do that, it's a lot harder to watch you and swoon." Because, well, she did whenever he was up on stage.
Alex Vipond: "Could be catastrophic in more ways than one, now that you mention it. I mean, it would be kind of poor taste if I threw you down to the stage, mid show, and had my way with you." He moved to sit down beside her, his fingers moving over the keys in a random snatch of song.
Wrinkled Black: Chuckling, Adrienne nodded as she scooted over a little to make room for him. "Yeah, I don't think your fans would appreciate that much. I mean, this one would, but..." Despite the teasing, or perhaps because of it, her smile warmed as she watched his fingers.
Alex Vipond: "Not to mention the number of laws we'd be breaking..." He chuckled. "There's actually I wrote as a duet..." He played the opening notes, and then began to sing. “Lay by my side, Arms intertwined, Open your heart, And close your eyes. Now here I stand, My head in my hands, I never knew, How to get to you…”
Wrinkled Black: Uhm, speaking of swooning? Her eyes closed for two reasons. The first being so she could listen and appreciate the song, while the second was so she didn't watch him and thus jump him halfway through the song. Ahem. Since she didn't know the lyrics, she hummed along once she picked up on the melody, and in harmony where she could.
Alex Vipond: Alex continued to sing, and once they had run through it, he got up, moved to the desk and pulled his iPad. While he was there, he started a new recording, and then he was heading back. His fingers played over the screen and he color coded the lyrics, and then, he set the iPad down on top of the keyboard where Adrienne could see it. "Blue is me, red is you, purple is both of us." He smiled at her. "Okay?"
Wrinkled Black: She had to take a deep breath when he finished. "That's really beautiful, Alex...” Some probably thought there was a bias when it came to Adrienne liking his music, but the man had serious talent and it was one of the things she loved about him. She was smiling as she watched him, a bit of color rising to her cheeks when she realized he was recording. Nodding along with his explanation, she leaned in to give him a quick kiss. "Okay."
Alex Vipond: Alex returned the kiss, and then he once more began to play and as he sang, he watched her. “Lay by my side, Arms intertwined, Open your heart, And close your eyes…” He gave her a nod as he continued where she should jump in.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne leaned against him; not enough to interfere with his playing, but just enough to have that touch as she sang along with him in harmony.
Both:
“Now here I stand, My head in my hands, I never knew, How to get to you,”
Alex Vipond: Rolling into the chorus, Alex brushed her shoulder with his, a smile on his face as they sang together. Once past the chorus the next line was Alex's and then Adrienne's and then once again, in harmony.
Both:
“So Wait, Wait here for me
And someday we'll see
What our love's supposed to be
And put
Put your hand in mine
For all of time
You will be a part of me
A part of me…”
Alex: “My feet are on the ground,”
Adrienne: “My head is spinning round,”
Both:
“So much to lose, I give it all to you,”
“So Wait, Wait here for me
And someday we'll see
What our love's supposed to be
And put
Put your hand in mine
For all of time
You will be a part of me
A part of me…”
Alex: “When your blood is running cold,”
Adrienne: “And when you’re losing all control,”
Both:
“I'll be there
Cause I'm a part of you
And you're a part of me too…”
Wrinkled Black: As they continued to sing, Adrienne grew more comfortable. She really had to focus, though, because the lyrics were so beautiful, so them, that her eyes watered a little. Don't choke up while singing, Adrienne, don't choke up. She managed not to, turning her focus on Alex as they sang the last chorus.
Both:
“So Wait, Wait here for me
And someday we'll see
What our love's supposed to be
And put
Put your hand in mine
For all of time
You will be a part of me
A part of me…”
Alex Vipond: Watching her as they sang, Alex noticed the moisture at her eyes and when they were done singing, he leaned in, his lips playing over hers before he put his forehead to her own. "I love you."
Wrinkled Black: Her smile warmed as she returned the kiss, grinning a little as their foreheads met. "I love you, too. For all of time."
Alex Vipond: Alex grinned and kissed her again, and then he got up to go turn off the recording. He'd futz with it later, but for right now, he just wanted to be with Adrienne. "Anything you want to do tonight?"
Wrinkled Black: Chuckling, she turned off the keyboard and followed him back into the control room so she could flop on the couch while he turned off the recording. "So long as I get to do it with you, I'm easy." Her grin was cheeky; she hadn't meant it inappropriately, but it was pretty funny that way! She then tipped her head slightly in thought as she watched him. "You know we haven't been apart since I realized I was pregnant? At least, not for more than... what... twelve hours?"
Alex Vipond: He kind of got a deer in the headlight look as he stopped and looked at her. "Am I smothering you? I'm hovering too much aren't I? Am I?" Was he? he didn't think so, but shit, he started thinking back and no, they really hadn't been apart for much longer than a day at work since the Peanut made his presence known. "Do you want to have like a girls' day with Callie or something? Just girls, no hovering baby daddies? Not that Callie has a baby daddy but... you know what I mean."
Wrinkled Black: She couldn't help it, his panic had her laughing. "No! Of course you're not, that was so not a complaint." Grinning, she patted the couch beside her so he'd join her. "I promise, babe, if I thought you were hovering, I'd let you know." At the mention of Callie and a girls' day, she chuckled. "We do need to have one, but not because I need to get away from the love of my life."
Alex Vipond: Alex was crossing the room to settle beside her when she called him the love of her life. That had him pausing in step and grinning widely. "Cool." He settled next to her, his arm going around her. "The love of my life." He smiled at her. "Speaking of which, our shop neighbor has invited us to come over and get stoned." He nodded. "No, literally, he sells rocks and crystals and shit."
Wrinkled Black: "Not to mention it's a testament to our relationship, that we've spent so much time together and don't want to kill each other." Always a good thing, right? With his arm around her, she snuggled in close to him, smiling up at him. An eyebrow went up for the idea of getting stoned, but then she laughed. "Oh cool! Like those ones that look like a rock on the outside but is the awesome crystal inside?" Because she couldn't remember what those were called.
Alex Vipond: "Geodes, yes. He's got those and there are like... frogs made out of stone, and book ends and lamps and even jewelry." He nodded. In fact he'd seen a pair of amethyst earrings he thought she'd like. Hey, purple was her favorite color. "We could get one of those like, four foot tall geodes to stand here in the studio. I don't think we'd want it in the house, Grayson might pull it over on himself." Alex paused, "Grayson, or Greyson?" It sounded ever so slightly different, if only in his head.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne's smile widened as he went into baby-proofing mode. "Probably a good idea." Even if they did have a good year before they needed to worry about such a thing. She nodded, chuckling. "Grayson, with an A." Even though the baby was pretty still just now, she reached for Alex's hand to put it over her belly. No, she would never tire of it, whether she encouraged it or he did it on his own. "I hope he likes riding in the bus. I really do not like the idea of staying home while you're on tour." It would break that less than 24 hour streak!
Alex Vipond: Resting his hand on her belly, he leaned down and dropped a kiss just above his hand and then whispered. "You know, your mom is pretty talented. We may have to take her on the road with us." He smirked, finding it funny that they'd already been on the road together.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne smirked as well, raking her fingers through his hair as he leaned down. "And your daddy's got a lot of work ahead of him if he thinks he's going to convince your mom to get on stage anytime soon."
Alex Vipond: Alex cracked up and straightened up, a kiss dropped to her lips. "Well it's worth a try. I think I may be able to wear you down after a while."
Wrinkled Black: She chuckled against his lips as she returned the kiss, then settled her head against his shoulder once more. "Don't get cocky, Vipond. Like you said earlier, it could get us arrested. Then Grayson's in the system, your career is shot to hell.." Yeah, lips were twitching for that.
Alex Vipond: "Well we can't have that now can we?" Alex laughed and shook his head, he looked back down at the bump. "I don't think he's awake." And yes, he gave her belly a little rub, like she was a Buddha or something.
Wrinkled Black: "Nooo. Without your career I don't I have a sugar daddy." Her eyes went wide. "I mean...uhm..." But she was laughing too much to keep going. The belly rubbing wasn't helping. "He's moving here and there, just not..there." Nodding to where his hand was.
Alex Vipond: Alex moved his hand slowly, trying to find the little bugger. "Use the force, Luke...." He would pause from time to time in case the kid stopped when his hand was moving.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing. He was so cute, she didn't have the heart to tell him that she still felt the fluttering, even if he didn't. "As he gets bigger, if you manage to get him to kick me on command, I'm going to kick you back. Just so's you know."
Alex Vipond: Alex cracked up at that. "In the back, in the middle of the night, no doubt." he nodded. Yes, he'd been reading. "Okay, so the Peanut's just swimming around and hanging out. We can start talking to him and you know, getting him used to our voices, right?"
Wrinkled Black: "Mmmhm." Adrienne smiled as she watched his hand on her belly. "Pretty much. I think he's already pretty familiar with yours. He's just so small still." She'll enjoy it for now while it lasts.
Alex Vipond: "We need to hook him up with some Stevie Ray Vaughn. And some U2. And some Bon Jovi." Had to round out the boy's musication.
Wrinkled Black: Chuckling, she nodded. "Wouldn't be ironic that despite our attempts, he has a natural love for whatever musical genre you despite the most?" She thought about that a moment, looking at him with an eyebrow raised. "Is there one?"
Alex Vipond: "Um....." he contemplated that. "Polka? I mean, sure it's catchy and upbeat but those accordions just kill me."
Wrinkled Black: She laughed and patted her belly, over his hand. "You hear that, Peanut? No accordion lessons for you. And no mariachi while we're at it."
Alex Vipond: "No polka, no mariachi..." he nodded. "Good that we're setting boundaries now, before he goes on a wild, teen-aged, maraca and accordion spree."
Wrinkled Black: Oh, her lips were twitching. "But you know...maracas are totally popular toys for toddlers. The whole... early music percussion thing. We might have to rethink this."
Alex Vipond: "True, we'll amend that to no huge hats and handlebar mustaches, while playing accordion." He nodded. "Better? I mean, after all, what's a baby rattle if not a tiny maraca?"
Wrinkled Black: Yup, she lost it. So much so she had to grab a pillow to smoosh over her face she was laughing so hard. "Much better!" Muffled.
Alex Vipond: Alex was cracking up, more at her reaction than the ridic conversation. He drew his arm tighter around her shoulders, drawing her in closer and kissing the top of her head. "My work here is done..."
Wrinkled Black: She had half a mind to push him away from her, but instead she just whapped him in the chest with the pillow. "We are absolutely ridiculous, you realize this, right?"
Alex Vipond: "And that is why we're so cool." Chuckling over the swat with the pillow, he nodded and kissed the top of her head again. "We're the cool couple everyone wants to have around." Pausing he shrugged. "Except those who are intimidated by our awesomesauce."
Wrinkled Black: "Not to our kid, we won't. No matter how cool we think we are, once he reaches puberty? Fuggedabouddit. He's not going to want anything to do with us."
Alex Vipond: "Shit, we'll be parking around the corner so he can walk the half block to school." He chuckled. "Doesn't matter how fly our rides are, if he's not driving, he doesn't want to be seen." He'd seen enough teenage movies to pick up some shit.
Wrinkled Black: "Oh God!" With a groan, she lifted her hands to cover her ears. "I don't want to think about our baby driving!"
Alex Vipond: "Fortunately he's got a while to go before he gets there.... Unless we get him one of those really cool baby cars..." He contemplated that. "Hell I'd play in it." Anyone who would slip into a shopping cart car would play in the kid's toy car.
Wrinkled Black: With a smirk, Adrienne sat up and leaned back to really get a good look at him. "Jesus, we really are going to have to get two of all the toys, aren't we?" One for the Peanut, one for Alex!
Alex Vipond: Cracking up he nodded. "Probably." He leaned over to kiss her, and gave her three, just because before leaning back. "So, what do you want to do tonight?"
Wrinkled Black: She smirked, but her smile returned when he kissed her. "Mm!" Three times, even! "Well, I don't think I've got a late night at the bar in me." Which did not in any way mean he couldn't do so! "Maybe we should head home before I lose you to your work." Pft, right. Like he was able to get any work done while she was here. Ahem.
Alex Vipond: "Sounds like a plan." He slipped his arm out from around her and rose from the couch, then reached for her hands. "Come on, momma, let's get you home."
Wrinkled Black: Chuckling, she took his hands and used his help to haul her fat ass from the couch, and once she was up she pulled him in for another kiss. She frowned a little, though, getting a good look at him. "I don't distract you from your work too much, though, do I?" All teasing aside, she didn't want to be an interference.
Alex Vipond: "No,” he chuckled. "I had Dare want to come in and do some studio work with her group but she's failed to show so... The only thing I have going is my stuff and that's not really on a schedule. Part of the beauty of owning your own label."
Wrinkled Black: "Okay, good. But if I show up and you're waist deep in something, tell me to go away." She was a big girl, she can handle it. Unless it was another woman or something of that nature, but that wouldn't happen, so no worries there. At least she was confident enough right now that it wouldn't happen. Ask her again in four months when she can't even see her own feet.
Alex Vipond: Alex would take pictures of them for her to remember them by. "I promise if I am busy, I will tell you." he smiled and dropped a kiss to her forehead, before giving her hands a gentle squeeze and moving to shut the place down for the night.
Wrinkled Black: "Okay, good." Her eyes closed for the kiss to her forehead, then she was moving to put the couch pillow back and keeping well out of his way. "What can I do?" Not necessarily to get them out faster, but she didn't want to sit and twiddle her thumbs while he did all the work.
Alex Vipond: "Feed the cats?" Studio kittehs want food. Foooooooddddd. Alex shut down the computer and then headed up front to lock up. Once he had that done, he walked back through, shutting off lights as he went.
Wrinkled Black: "On it. C'mon kitties!" That was called out as she headed to the kitchen to feed the little beasties. Each bowl was filled with kibble and each bowl of water topped off. As said cats came to eat, she gave each one that got close enough a good scritch behind the ears and a stroke down the back. "Batman, seriously, calm down. There's enough for all of you." Cats.
Alex Vipond: Totes. If they weren't in your face wanting love, they were biting you because you pet them once too often. Once he had everything shut down for the night, he called out. "All set, Baby!"
Wrinkled Black: Which, of course, Sadie was doing. Chuckling, she nudged the cat back towards the food before she was following after Alex, turning off the light in the kitchen. "You'd think we starved them the way they acted." She gave him a kiss as she slid past him and into the parking lot.
Alex Vipond: "Which is plain to see, with how wasted away and shriveled Thumpy is." The cat probably weighed fifteen pounds. He was huge. Of course he was also nutless and well, they tended to get fat after that. Alex set the alarm and then followed Adrienne out, closing and locking the door behind him, before moving to the car and opening her door for her. Once he had her settled, he slipped around to the passenger side and got in, buckling up and resisting theurge to start playing with all her buttons and her display.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne waited until she was out of the lot and on the main street before she looked sideways at him and grinned. He was like a kid in a toy store. "Go on; just don't mess up my settings." She couldn't not let him play!
Alex Vipond: Alex chuckled and started playing, pulling up the displays that monitored everything from battery life to tire pressure. "Okay, so when the Model X comes out, we're all over it."
Wrinkled Black: "Uhm, yeah." She was chuckling though as she watched him. "You spoil me too much." Of course, he spoils himself too, but still!
Alex Vipond: "There's no such thing." he smiled at her, and then cleared the screen before leaning back to enjoy the ride. "We need a family car, and it makes sense to have an SUV." Never mind the fact that he already had a Range Rover.
Wrinkled Black: "Never mind the fact you've got a perfectly good Range Rover." Yeah, she said it. Totally teasing him, she knew how much he liked the Tesla brand. Not to mention they were so much safer. "Do they have an ETA as to when it'll be out?"
Alex Vipond: "2016 is all I have heard." he shook his head. "So I can check the web when we get home and see if they're taking orders yet." Because they probably were.
Wrinkled Black: With a smirk, Adrienne pressed the web icon on the screen and brought up Tesla motors. "Early 2016 for new reservations." She beamed up at him and hit the 'Reserve' icon before focusing on the road. "There ya go."
Alex Vipond: "Ooooh." And yes, he was browsing options at that point, totally absorbed in the shopping of cars in the car. "Well shit, it won't let me pick options, but at least we got our name in." He nodded once he'd added all his information, and completed the reservation process.
Wrinkled Black: "It's not like we'll be needing it as soon as the Peanut's here." Though she really couldn't help chuckling at his excitement. "Gives you something else to look forward to."
Alex Vipond: "No, and yes, it does. Also means we can carpool the soccer team. Or baseball... Pee Wee football..."
Wrinkled Black: "Or how about the band or choir?" Don't go turning her into a soccer mom just yet!
Alex Vipond: "There's that too." He nodded, then chuckled. "Can you imagine, volunteering to to drive for the band or choir and arriving to pick everyone up in the tour bus?"
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, nodding. "The kids would probably think it was the coolest thing ever, but the parents would probably be like, double-u tee eff."
Alex Vipond: "Entirely possible, but really, how often do a bunch of teenagers get to ride in a tour bus? And I think as long as their kids got there and back, safe and sound, the parents would be down with it."
Wrinkled Black: "And we assure them that it's not that kind of tour bus, complete with drugs and alcohol." Snickerfit. "We're going to have to start cracking down on Chez."
Alex Vipond: "oh, yeah. Can't have seed floating around the bus. I mean you get to a state where it's not legal, and they'll throw us under ... the bus."
Wrinkled Black: "If you ask me, the rest of the country needs to get on board with that." She slowed down, smiling to the gate attendant as she pulled in the back way to cut through the golf course. "Don't know if I'd participate, but I don't think it should be illegal."
Alex Vipond: "I wouldn't, but I don't think it should be illegal either. I swear the government would be out of debt in five years or less if they legalized it and taxed it."
Wrinkled Black: "Oh, no doubt." Pulling up to the house, Adrienne turned into the drive way and parked the car in the garage so she could charge it. "I think a relaxing bath is in order, what do you think?"
Alex Vipond: "I think that's an excellent idea." He stepped out of the car and moved to plug the charger in. Inside he could hear the scrape of nails on tile as the dogs rushed to the door to greet them. "I think I am definitely stepping through first." Last thing they needed was Gus crowding Adrienne.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, nodding. "I think I'm gonna let you." She moved to follow Alex, sort of using him as a shield. Never mind she technically weighed more than him right now.
Alex Vipond: It was the bubble wrap syndrome. She was lucky she wasn't in a hamster ball. Alex unlocked the door into the house from the garage, and stepped in through the laundry, unlocking that door too. Once he had it opened, he immediately went into greet mode, bracing himself for Gus, and wrapping his arms around him when the behemoth planted his paws on his shoulders. Alex scruffed his ears, yes, made baby talk for them both, since poor Sherman was low to the ground and Gus was meeting Alex, eye to eye.
Wrinkled Black: Yes, she was very grateful for the lack of hamster ball. Once the coast was clear and Gus was slow dancing with Alex, Adrienne moved around them to scoop up Sherman and nuzzled at him. "How're our fur babies, hm?" Yes, she was baby talking them, too. "You smell the kitties on us, don't you?" Or at least Sherm did, the way he was sniffing at her shirt.
Alex Vipond: Yes, the kitties were smelled. Once the greet was over, and Gus was down, Alex moved to the back door and opened it up so the dogs could roam the yard. He then moved back toward Adrienne and Sherman, giving the pup some love before he kissed Adrienne and then headed upstairs. "I'll get the bath started."
Wrinkled Black: Before too long she was going to get yelled at for picking up the dog, but for now she was going to get her snuggles with him while she can. The kiss to Alex was returned with a grin. "I'll be right up." She snuggled the cockapoo some more love before setting him down to chase his big brother in the yard. Then she headed up the stairs, taking off the few pieces of jewelry she was wearing along the way.
Alex Vipond: Alex had the bath running, and towels laid out, and yes, he'd even lit the candles that were scattered about the room. Then he was off to strip down as the tub filled, clothes tossed into the hamper and his robe and slippers gathered. Yes, his Angry Bird slippers.
Wrinkled Black: Like he did so often, Adrienne was leaning in the doorway and watching him, the grin on her face wide. "I feel like we should try and find an extra pair of those, in case that one ever gets too warn out." She was then getting undressed as well, pausing at the sink to get her hair drawn up off her neck into a sloppy bun.
Alex Vipond: "I'm sure we could find more." he nodded and hung his robe up, then moved in behind her to kiss the back of her neck. His arms moved around her, cradling her, one hand resting over her belly, and yes, giving it a Buddha rub.
Wrinkled Black: She chuckled as she leaned back into his embrace, watching his hands in the mirror. "You know there's no genie in there to grant you wishes, right?" Not a complaint, just teasing him.
Alex Vipond: "Doesn't matter. The wish has already come true." he smiled at her in the mirror. "I can rub some of those oils on you, that healthy stuff. Do we have any?"
Wrinkled Black: She really should've seen that one coming. That she didn't is why there was some color creeping up into her cheeks. With a shake of her head, she turned in his arms, fingers trailing over his chest. "No, but I sure as hell know what's going up on the shopping list in the morning."
Alex Vipond: "Does it come in different scents or is it just like baby on the way flavor?" He let his hands slide up and down her back, before finally settling on her ass and cupping her cheeks. "What else should we get?"
Wrinkled Black: Her laugh was quiet as she leaned up to give him a kiss. "I'm pretty certain it comes in different scents." He was a dweeb sometimes, but she loved him for it. "We could probably use some more candles, and less fun would be stretch mark cream...” She glanced downward between them. "Though I think I've been pretty lucky so far."
Alex Vipond: "I think so too." He started to lean in to kiss her neck when his attention was drawn to the tub. He had a brief moment of that oh shit, expression before he was moving to turn the water off. "Any higher and there wouldn't be room for us." he moved back to Adrienne, and then slipped his arms around her again. "Now... where were we?' He seemed to contemplate it for a moment; then he smiled and dipped his head. "Right, about, here," between each word he dropped a kiss to her neck, smiling as he did so.
Wrinkled Black: "Can't have that." Nor could they have the tub spilling over if there was too much... ah... movement. Tipping her chin up, she grinned as he kissed her, closing her eyes while she moved her hands to hold on to his arms so she wouldn't melt to her feet. "Sounds about right...”
Alex Vipond: As they held each other, Alex stepped slowly toward the tub. Once they reached it, he lifted his head and straightened, taking her hands in his to help her into the tub. "I thought it might..."
