CabalisticCore: Thursday wasn't quite as crowded as it would be over the weekend, but there was something pleasant about the crowd. Lots of familiar faces for Elle to pause and air kiss, people celebrating birthdays, and one or two anniversaries, Elle learned, which she would be sure to note at the next interval, when the drag King channeling Ziggy Stardust onstage was done crooning and waggling an obscenely overstuffed crotch because who hadn't seen Labyrinth and been both horrified and intrigued by the outline in Bowie's trousers? So, in her scarlet dress she swept around, laughing and chatting. When the Bowie number ended, she clapped him off, and then introduced the Delicious Dance troupe, which meant dancing Fosse style. Only then did she make it back toward Alec, bow raised. "Still here," She said with genuine surprise. [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He rose a brow at that:: If you prefer that I would leave I can oblige. So long as you let me finish this bottle first? -d-
CabalisticCore: Dueling eyebrows! Elle's was better. It wasn't quite Divine levels of dramatic, but, come on. What was a queen without killer eye makeup, arched brows and false eyelashes that would make Bambi weep in envy? A queen with no self-respect, that's who. Trust me. She always won the Arch. "Surprised," She corrected, taking the water that Kevin-the-bartender handed her for a few careful swallows. "You seem like you were hoping for undivided attention," She patted his knee and leaned against the long bar, all back lit by the purple glow. [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he smiled with a gentle chuckle, took a long drink from what was left of that second bottle, and finally responded.:: I didn't expect undivided attention, no. I realize that you're quite busy here tonight. I'm more than content with the moments we share in between. I have plenty of time right now after all. -d-
CabalisticCore: The club, for those not in the know, was a brick building which had likely once been a warehouse before gentrification and a pointed density of queer inhabitants labeled that area of town the undisputed gay sector. Now it featured lots of neon, and a bouncer with a tragic addiction to matching games on his phone when he wasn't checking ids and chasing off anyone who needed to be sent on their way. Mostly, the place was glam, yes, but also welcoming. Customers ran a very clear range of gay to straight with some trans thrown in. among the drag kings and queens. You could tell the drag people; they tended to be dressed better and wore more make-up. Elle was the fabulous one in a scarlet dress that could have been designed by Adrian in his prime. "You're a strange fellow," She told the man in flannel. "But then, what is normal here? Still only drinking? The kitchen is open tonight," [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He grinned and nodded to her:: I have been told I'm strange on many occassions but it's somewhat unescapable in my line of work. And yes, normality is a very relative thing. I'm curious Elle, what do you do when you aren't here? -d-
CabalisticCore: She swept the train of her skirt aside to more properly sort of perch on her stool, one stocking clad leg stuck out just so, like she was accidentally striking a pose. It wasn't so much a temptation, as enjoying being pretty, and showing herself off. Plus, someone over there was snapping a picture with a camera, all the better to give them a great pic to post to Facebook. Elle had her own Twitter, with her various social media accounts on some of the literature, and pinned up with her picture along the hall to the bathroom with the other portraits, and she always liked getting nods. "What don't I do, Honeychilde? Shopping, manicures, whirlwind social-life, I'm a busy girl. I am even rehearsing a special Christmas show with the girls, for charity. It's amazing how smutty you can make Christmas with very little effort," [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He smiled at that, nodding as he listened.:: You do seem like a very busy person indeed. ::He wouldn't even mention how that picture that was just taken wouldn't have him in it, that amused him.:: What charity will the money go to? I believe I'd like to make a donation. -d-
Alex Vipond: Bar hopping. That's what Alex and Callie had decided to do. It was something Alex used to do often, carrying his Tak around with him, just in case someone, somewhere, was having an open mic night. Adrienne was home, snuggled up with Sherman, Gus and the cats. After his work at the studio was finished, he'd called to let her know he was done and how she was feeling. "She's a bit tired. I promised I'd pick her up something savage on the way home." By something savage, it would be either something chocolatey or cheesecakey.... Pulling the door open, he held it for Callie and then stepped inside behind her.
A Spirited Scion: "I wish she wasn't tired and felt like coming out tonight." Callie commented as she slipped inside, a quiet thank you to Alex for holding the door open. "I totally get hanging out with the kids and maybe watching chick flicks though. It's almost a perfect evening." Almost. Lots of things could top that. She stepped aside to give Alex some room, gaze shifting from the floor to the room, taking in this new place and all of the sights it had to offer from the front door. "Hmm. Interesting." (d)
CabalisticCore: "We work with a few LGBTQA organizations," Elle said, "At Christmas we usually send the money off to the ones that impact homosexual youth," she explained. Meanwhile, a six foot tall queen in three inch heels, head to toe in gold lame sailed past with a tray of cocktails in hands crowded with rings. "PFlag, but also supporting programs for comprehensive sexual education in schools, anti-bullying, " A gesture that seemed to include 'and-so-on'. "The boss would know all the names, I just shake my moneymaker and let the cash flow," A wicked grin flickered past red painted lips. But, duty called, and she straightened, and sashayed over to the two new guests, bright smile on her alarmingly pretty face, cupped as it was by a platinum wig, which only added to the general 1950's flair of her outfit. "I can always tell new faces, It's like a spider sense, but it's for Delicious Virgins," she said to the duo, voice just in the sweet spot between feasibly male and plausibly female. "Do you two want a table, or to cozy up at the bar?" [d]
Alex Vipond: "Last night we kicked it at the studio. She didn't feel like going out or even home. Good thing we're set up with the apartment above. She actually fell asleep on the couch for a while. Peanut isn't giving her much sleep and it's only going to be worse when he's born." Speaking of which, he shifted his Tak to his other hand and dug into his pocket to pull his phone. He wasn't anywhere near as glam as those in the club. Alex was generally the one that looked like he'd had a weed eater attack his jeans at some point in the not too distant past with worn and cut places that had frayed with numerous washings. That, the U2 360 tour t-shirt and the leather jacket and that case in hand marked him as pretty much what he was: a post grunge rocker. A rocker with a pregnant fiancée whom he was texting to make damned sure she was feeling okay. Looking up, Alex smiled at the woman who greeted them and then looked at Callie. "Bar?"
RazielTheDamned:: ::He nodded as she wandered off and finally finished off that bottle he'd been working on. He got Kevin's attention for another, who looked at him oddly but served him anyway. While he waited he pulled out a worn book from his jeans and settled in to read for a while. It was probably the strangest sight of all in that moment, a grunge kid in a flannel reading a book in a drag club, but that was Alec for you.:: -d-
CabalisticCore: "Bar it is, darling ones," She stepped to the side, light on the tall satin heels with the rosettes on the toes, gesturing them over. There were two tenders up tonight, poor Kevin, and Mary, with her purple dye job growing out and her nose ring. She'd talk them over a bit of the way, "Now, don't you be shy around here, you hear, if you want anything at all, just ask, and some queen will sass you, then get it, and if you sass them back, you get it double quick," A wink, and then she had to excuse herself, because the dance number was ending, and she was needed. She grabbed a mic from a stage ninja, then mounted the steps to help clap off the dancers. "Oh, Cabaret. The musical of every little queer boy's heart. Liza, dost thou known what thou hast wrought? Speaking of someone who cannot stay married, let's give a hand to Tim and Paige, who are celebrating five years of marriage!" Annd clapping and shtick, you know the drill,, [d]
A Spirited Scion: "The bar is good, sure." Callie wasn't far behind Alex in the ripped up jeans, but hers weren't bad tonight. Light blue, with boots on her feet and a sweatshirt and jacket up top. The ensemble was nothing to write home about by any means at all. She hushed when their hostess spoke up and quietly followed along to the bar. "Thank you." A smile as she walked away. Callie slid onto a stool, looking off toward the stage for a moment, listening. Totally out of her element at the moment. (d)
Alex Vipond: "Yes Ma'am, sass I got." he chuckled and nodded, and then leaned his case against the front of the bar as he planted himself onto a stool next to Callie and when the happy couple was applauded, Alex joined in. Alex glanced around, getting the lay of the place, giving a nod and a smile here and there as eye contact was made. And then he was looking at the tender, when his phone vibrated. He read the message, cracked up and then showed Adrienne's response to Callie before he looked back at the tender. "Glenmorangie if you have it, three fingers, neat, thanks."
RazielTheDamned: ::Alec looked up from his book long enough to nod politely to the new comers up at the bar before drinking straight from his bottle and looking around to see where Elle was now.:: -d-
A Spirited Scion: "Jamesons for me, please. Same size as his." She smiled, looking over at Alex's phone to see the replay. Chuckling, she nodded. "Yes ma'am. Consider it done." (d)
CabalisticCore: Alec was still reading, Elle was making an introduction for Dizzy LaRue, a ginger haired queen done up like a pin up girl, and who was actually going to sing instead of lip synch; an old Doris Day tune given a bit of a face lift. Down she came while Kevin provided the Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich. Alec drank all the best stuff yesterday. The bar was a veritable cornucopia of alcohol. There was the normal range, but also a healthy portion of the strange; Bakon flavored vodka, Bakon vodka, or Passionfruit liqueur, to the romantic, like elderberry wine. THey made more mixed drinks in the place, and tended to have seasonal specials. Blessedly October was gone, and so was the cocktail with the candy corn vodka in it. The vodka wasn't gone, but now it could be inflicted on unsuspecting drinkers for hilarious reactions! Elle came toward Alec and tipped her head to see the cover of the distracting novel. [d]
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, Alex sent Callie's reply to Adrienne and then signed off with what was probably an overabundance of hearts - he likely used every available emoji, and then tucked his phone back into his pocket, a smile and a nod given the tender as he handed over the cash needed for their order, and left the change on the bar as a tip. Picking up his glass he looked to the stage. "She looks like a Vargas girl."
RazielTheDamned: ::She'd easily identify the novel he was reading as "A Tale of Two Cities". When he noticed her there he tipped it down and grinned at her:: So I didn't get to ask before you left last time, how much money do you all usually raise for charity during the Christmas show? I'm very curious about it in general. It's an important time of year after all. -d-
A Spirited Scion: "Thank you both." The tender and Alex. Callie looked toward the stage again, watching and listening "She looks great." She agreed, glancing back to Alex. "You know, my amazing babysitting abilities will be there for you and Adrienne whenever you guys need a a night or a day out or whatever." (d)
CabalisticCore: "We do pretty well," The accepted the bottle of water from Kevin, sipped. "There's the show, which is fifty a ticket, and afterwards there's a cocktail thing and silent auction. We usually pull in a couple thousand, more if we've gotten good donations, or a special guest. " Perched on the stool again. After answering Alec's question, she angled to the other side towards Alec and Callie. "Everyone treating you well, my Darlings?" she checked, grey eyes sweeping over drinks and phones. [d]
Alex Vipond: "And we appreciate it to no end." Alex nodded. "You realize you're really the only one we trust with him, right?" Yes, he knew how that sounded, since Alex was obviously excluding his sister from the list of those trusted, but face it, his sister was something of a flibbertigibbet. When Elle checked on them, Alex smiled. "Couldn't ask for better service. Did I hear you right? You're doing a charity auction?"
CabalisticCore: "You bet your pert posterior. We throw a racy Christmas how followed by a silent auction to raise money for assorted LGBTQA causes," Elle affirmed. She gestured beside her. "This big lug wants to know all about it. I think he might turn up as the only resident of The Flannel Tribe. This is Alec, mystery man, by the by, and I," Long fingernails painted with tiny detailed art-deco designs on the tips brushed over her chest and the big necklace. "Am Elle Dritch; Forgive my rudeness in not introducing myself earlier, Honeychildren." [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He smiled with a polite nod to the two as he was so gracefully introduced, then of course hit up his bottle.:: -d-
Alex Vipond: "Callie Nolan," Alex gestured to Callie, and then himself. "And I'm Alex Vipond." He nodded, his hand offered to Elle and then Alec before asking. "So what sort of things are you auctioning off?" He’d just come into some vintage gear that might actually fetch a good deal of money at auction. "The reason I ask is because I came into some gear, amps, mics and the like that was used on tour by Black Sabbath during the late 70's early '80s. Obviously the equipment is outdated but the intrinsic value...."
CabalisticCore: "Callie and Alex," She repeated, taking each hand in turn, if they would give it. Hers was satiny soft, warm, firm, but also careful about the nails in an unobstrusive way. "Well, anything donated, really. Spa packages, concert tickets, Autographed photos of Dolly Parton," A grin and a shrug, since she probably wasn't joking about that part. Her brows went up when he said that. "Oh, Honeychilde, I am embarrassed to say my knowledge of seventies music is thin on the ground. I know the name, though, which I'm sure means it's all pretty valuable. You'd probably get a nice price if you sold it proper to some rock n' roll collector." What? People expected a vulture, but Elle felt real strong about her place not taking advantage of anyone. [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He shook the hands firmly but didn't really say much of anything. He was interested in the gear however. Hell, he looked like someone that didn't exist out of the 1990's, flannel and all.:: -d-
Alex Vipond: "Oh, trust me. I have way too much of the sort now as it is. I can have it inventoried and delivered whenever you need it for the auction." Considering the fact that he had crap in storage that he couldn't wade through without a forklift, he was all too willing to donate the gear he'd just acquired to charity. "Like I said the value of it is all sentimental to the potential bidder. Practicality, it's not something you'd take on tour now a days, the cost of shipping it on tour would be way too much and with the way airlines handle things...." Don't ask him about what happened to his Tak in 2009, he would go off on an hour long rant about the airlines and how they lost it.
CabalisticCore: "Well, who am I to say no to such a generous donation offer, then?" She hopped down off her seat, and circled around to the inside of the bar. In a moment she produced a business card and a pen. She scribbled something onto it, and then handed it over to Alex. It was a card for David Cole, with a business number, and Elle had added to the back 'tell him Elle sent you' in swirly writing. "Here. Mister Cole owns the place, you give him a nice ring and tell him I gave you his number, I'm sure he'll arrange everything for you. He's one of those busy little bees who is an absolute bear --the grumpy kind, not the hairy top kind- in social situations, but gets everything done." Annd it was time for her to head onstage again. "I'll be right back, you three," She whacked Alec on the arm as she went by. "Make nice, Feathers, say hello to the people," she instructed, and off she went! [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he chuckled at the new nickname and shrugged:: She's always a real sweetheart.. -d-
Alex Vipond: Taking the card, Alex looked it over and nodded, and then as she headed for the stage, he looked over at Alec. "She definitely gives that impression." The card was tucked into his jacket pocket and then he drained his glass, giving it a little wave to the tender for a refill, and yes, he glanced at Callie's fluid level to see if she was ready. "The stuff is really only of worth to someone collecting memorabilia. You a Black Sabbath fan?"
bard 2 the bone: After spending half the day driving across state lines and the other half unloading boxes and furniture which had to be carried up four flights of stairs into his new apartment, Aaron was so not in the mood to start unpacking. The helpful souls that'd volunteered their time and efforts had drank the last of his beer and eaten every slice of pizza he'd offered by way of thanks. Thus, with naught in his fridge to hold him over until he could scope out the local shops, he got cleaned up, donned his black pea coat and hit the streets in search of...well anything really. It was a brisk ten minute walk that brought him to the front of Club Delicious and he stood outside a moment, blue eyes lifted to the sign. ..Why the Hell not? He ducked in confidently enough, but was taken aback by the sumptuous interior. He wasn't sure exactly what he'd been expecting when he wandered in, but this seemed only fitting. His strides slowed a little so that he could drink in the surroundings, an amused smirk lighting up the shadow of a week’s worth of stubble on his chin.[d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He nodded at that:: Known Ozzy for a long time now. Might pick the stuff up to get it back to him, I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it. -d-
CabalisticCore: Yes, the brick building outside could be deceiving. The old brick was so curved and lovely and worn, no one could bear to paint it or change it, though the temptation might have been there. No mercy on the inside, though. Everything completely redone so that the former warehouse was now a secret glamor queen, on the inside. Kind of like a straight-laced tax accountant in a sweater vest and khakis with silky black lingerie on underneath. The crowd had filled out a bit more, but as it got later it had started to thin, but still ran the gamut. Elle was back onstage, teasing the last performer, before introducing Beyonce and Jay Z. Beyonce had a full foot on Jay Z, but they were a good team who mixed decent lip synching with comedy, both of the physical and wisecracking kind in their act. And Elle was bouncing back towards the bar. Or, was planning on it, but then her Soulful-Eyed-Doll alarm went off, and she veered with a new destination in mind; A slightly lost looking man with a beard peering about the place. "You lost, Sugarchilde?" she asked, all scarlet satin, platinum blonde hair and sleek legs in polka dotted stockings. [d]
A Spirited Scion: The amount of liquid in her glass was still pretty good. She'd sipped while listening to the conversation but that was all. Hearing that she's on the short list of people that Alex and Adrienne would trust with their new born made her happy. Honestly she couldn't wait to steal the little one from them for a day. Or, at the very least, help out the new parents as much as possible. Just as Alex was checking out her drink, she lifted the glass for another sip, looking off toward the stage, watching the pair. It's hard to be away from her own bar. Nights like this don't happen often. (d)
Alex Vipond: "You never know." Alex offered in reply to Alec's comment with a nod; a glance given the new comer as he wandered in and if eye contact was made, a nod of greeting would be given. Looking back at Callie, he chuckled. "You can turn it off now and then, you know. We had to practically kidnap you just to get you to take a vacation. And in all the years I've known you, it was your first. You should have some fun." Okay so he was leaving her joining them on the Route 66 Tour out of that equation but they'd had to practically drag her then too.
bard 2 the bone: The act on the stage was a passing fancy, made him smile but didn't hold his attention for as long as it ought to have. Forgive him, Beyonce and Jay-Z, he's just having a bit of a sensory overload trying to absorb all the details of this place. It was certainly a step up from the dive he'd made a pit stop in for a lukewarm Pabst Blue Ribbon. No, not a step up, a whole damn flight of stairs. He'd been looking up at the murals that ran the length of the balconies and so hadn't noticed Elle there until he heard her voice close above the general din. "Huh?" He turned, looked a little nonplussed at having been spoken to and then her question sank in. "Is it that obvious?" he asked with a lopsided sort of smirk.[d]
A Spirited Scion: "Ty and I went to Australia." Although that was work. "I went to the Ukraine, too." More work. "We took that trip to Vancouver." Not work but there was a teenager and a then puppy in tow. Still, it was a great time. She smiled, looking back to Alex. "I loved that vacation, sans someone's vanishing act and I'd love to go there again sometime." (d)
CabalisticCore: Even in her heels, Elle was only about 5'7, but considering all the unusual sights- six foot queens in gold lame, butch lesbians necking, performers rocking out, there was a lot to see. THe wardrobes alone. But she smiled, candy apple-red lips curling in amusement. "I promise you, it's my own x-power; I can sense a Delicious virgin a mile off, " She stepped close, a breath of perfume that was all vanilla-jasmine-caramel and linked her arm through his, casual as you please. "Don't you worry, Queen Elle will take care of you. See over there? That's Alex and Callie, also getting their cherries popped tonight. I'll introduce you. What's your name, Sugarchilde?" he was just too adorable for words, and she'd guide him towards the bar and the little pocket of people, if he let her. [d]
Alex Vipond: "Yeah well, being nearly run over by a Coast Guard cutter was not our idea of a fun time, but the trip overall, was great." Alex took a sip of his whiskey and nodded. "We plan on going, soon as the little man is cleared for takeoff." Alex glanced at the act on stage, and then chuckled as Elle went on about virgins again. As she brought the latest catch over, Alex chuckled and smiled, hand offered out. "Alex Vipond, my friend Callie, and Alex." He smiled to the guy. "Elle's made us feel right at home."
bard 2 the bone: Of course he let her. He didn't have much other choice but to, all things considered. A gravelly sort of laugh escaped at the mention of her super power. Supposing it was something akin to x-ray vision. He followed along, though spared another glance or two back at some of the things that had escaped his initial survey. This place was certainly a far cry from the dim, musty pool halls and watering holes he was used to. When they reached the bar and he was being introduced his hand shot out reflexively to catch Alex's in a firm but fleeting shake. "Aaron," he said, his eyes narrowing on Alex because he recognized the name but didn't want to act like a fanboy by going into a spiel about having seen him in concert once before. Instead he cleared his throat, smiled amicably for the lot of them and took a seat, "Pleasure to meet you all."[d]
CabalisticCore: "A miracle, considering this quartet has a distinct lack of glamor. Even you, darling, forgive me for saying it," She said to Callie as she drew close, and settled Aaron onto a stool beside Callie. "But, luckily, I am fabulous enough to compensate," She struck a little pose, and beckoned Mary the bartender over. "Mary, sweetness and light, make this poor little lost lamb anything he wants to wet his whistle," If Alex was a big name, Elle didn't know. Then again, her preferred listening zone usually had a lot of glitter factored into it. "I'll also tell you the same thing I told Feathers, here, that if you're hungry, there is some fabulous caramel macadamia cheesecake left over from our Dessert bar on Tuesday, and if it were legal, I'd have a bed made of it. Of course, Feathers is a total bore, and all he does is drink his little heart out," She came around to pat Alec on the shoulder. [d]
A Spirited Scion: Callie turned when the new person was brought their way. She smiled, head moving in a nod when introduced by Alex but her hand didn't extend lile his did. "Hello. Nice to meet you too." A chukle at the lack of glamour comment from Elle. "Oh, you are more than forgiven. I'm sorry. Unless it's jeans and a t-shirt or a sweatshirt, I don't wear it often and the rips, well, they're just a habit." (d)
RazielTheDamned: ::he chuckled faintly:: I do plenty of things I assure you. I'm just enjoying silence today is all. It does happen now and again. I'll also have you know that this flannel and my boots are vintage. ::with that another bottle of scotch was finished off and Alec motioned for a new one. Despite all the liquor he'd imbibed over the course of the evening, he still seemed mostly sober.:: -d-
Alex Vipond: Alex looked at Alec and nodded. "Like my Morphine t-shirt. It's so vintage it's air conditioned." Don't get him started on his Clash t-shirt, that thing he'd nearly been strangled with, twice. Both times in airports by fans grabbing hold of his clothes. Picking up his glass, he took a sip.
bard 2 the bone: Not that he was terribly self-conscious but Elle's comment about the collective fashion failures bringing down the market value of the bar did elicit a look down at himself while he was taking off his coat and hanging it on a hook beneath the bar. He didn't think you could really go wrong with a charcoal gray button up and jeans but then, what the hell did he know? At least they fit him and were blessedly free of wrinkles. His eyes lifted to meet Callie's momentarily and he shrugged and raised his dark brows as if to say, well what can you do? Aaron's attention flickered back over to the patient Mary and he folded his arms across the bar to brace himself as he leaned forward. "Guinness, please, love--thanks... I'll pass on the cheesecake though; I'm sweet enough as it is.”... And humble, too. [d]
CabalisticCore: "And the best place to enjoy silence is a club," Elle teased Alec, who at least was no longer reading his book while generating a huge tab. She eyed the boots when attention was drawn to them, but sniffed in a way that meant they had a shoe snob in their midst. At least she wasn't a fashion Nazi, right? "I'm not sure old band t-shirts qualify as vintage, but since I don't know who any of them are, I agree to cede the point," She perched on her stool, legs crossing neatly at the ankles. Aaron got his Guinness not to long later, and Elle her bottle of water. "Instead, I'll ask, how did all my little virgins find Club Delicious? I always like to know how we've appealed to the outside world," [d]
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, Alex nodded and then looked over at Aaron. "So what do you play?" Alex knew he played guitar, but whether it was base, lead or rhythm... Alex couldn't tell that just from the callouses on his fingers. Looking back at Elle, Alex gave a shake of his head. "Sheer dumb luck. Just happened to be in the neighborhood and we were bar hopping."
RazielTheDamned: ::He considered that question for a moment, not entirely sure she'd want the answer to the question, but they'd made a pact earlier. He pulled a piece of white cardstock from the pocket of his flannel and sat it on the bar for her. Upon it was printed her stage name, the name of the club, and the address.:: Work takes me all over the place I suppose. -d-
A Spirited Scion: "Alex's driving had me on high alert and this looked like a safe haven." Clearly she was kidding. Alex's driving wasn't that fast. Still, a sheepish smile followed the words and she was lifting her glass again to down the rest of the contents then motioning for a refill from Kevin. "I'm glad we came in." (d)
bard 2 the bone: While he didn't offer any insight into the conversation regarding clothes or the bands emblazoned upon them, merely because he was still feeling a little out of place, he did find the discussion amusing to say the least. Needless to say he was glad for the distraction afforded him by the arrival of his beer, which he slid closer, though waited until it finished settling into a rich dark shade. Elle's question did, however elicit a response from him. "Just moved hereabouts. ...Needed to unwind. Finding this place was a happy accident." [d]
Alex Vipond: "Hey...." Alex looked back at Callie. "I will have you know that car corners like it's on rails. I never even got past the speed limit," by much. Five, maybe ten miles. They don't even pull you over for that.
CabalisticCore: "Well, seems like happy accidents all around. I'm glad you came in too; New blood always spices things up," She had a sip from her water, and made an amused sound at Alex. "Oh Darling, Pretty Woman? You might be a bit gayer than my original estimation," Meanwhile she reached over and took the card from Alec, and raised a brow, looking it over front and back before returning it to him. "I didn't know I was work. Tsk. And here you had me thinking I was pleasure and not business." [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he chuckled faintly:: It doesn't feel like work, I assure you. -d-
Alex Vipond: "What can I say? Julia is drop dead gorgeous." Though the comment did have him trying to remember when the movie came out.
A Spirited Scion: Callie chuckled and reached over to pat Alex on the back. "The speed limit in your mind only counts for so much." Dropping her arm, she turned back to the bar, hand moving to accept her new drink. Nod of thanks given to Kevin. "Where are you from originally?" Tilt of her head to Aaron as she asked. (d)
RazielTheDamned: ::he was overly curious all of the sudden and looked directly at Callie:: What's it like, riding in a car? -d-
CabalisticCore: "Forgive Feathers, here. He's lived a sheltered life," [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He smirked at her and hit the bottle:: -d-
CabalisticCore: Believe me, she'd ask about the bizarro card later, but for now, she slid off her stool to attend MC duties, "Back in a flash, Honeychildren," [d]
bard 2 the bone: When his stout had finally settled he lifted it for a drink, glancing at them from over the rim of the pint glass when Callie posed her question. He set the glass down, cleared his lip of the foam with a swipe of his tongue. "Originally?" His jaw flexed and he smiled, "Well I was born in Stuttgart, Germany--Army brat. ..Uh, but I only moved here from South Carolina." Which was only one of many stops he'd made since he'd left the nest, so to speak. []d
Alex Vipond: "To hear her tell it, it's like taking your life into your own hands." Alex hooked a thumb toward Callie as he smirked and then he was reaching for that glass once more, only to find it empty. He lifted his hand and motioned for another round for the lot of them, if they were ready for another.
A Spirited Scion: Dark brows lifted as she considered the question. That was something she'd never been asked before. She honestly had no idea how to explain it. She snickered at Alex's response. "Having someone else take your life into their own hands Honestly though, it's nice riding in a car. You can catch the scenery during the day if their is some to see." She'd still rather drive though, but she trusted Alex even if it didn't sound like it. A sip and she nodded to Aaron. "South Carolina's nice, but I've only visited once, a long time ago." (d)
CabalisticCore: It took Kevin a minute to finish pouring out a couple of shots for a couple down at the end of the bar, but soon he came back over and was fetching the gestured refills for everyone. Elle meanwhile helped clap off the current act, introduced another, and, after a few stop-overs at other tables to chat up people, made her way back to the bar. [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he nodded to that answer:: I don't believe I've ridden in any sort of mechanized transportation before now that I think about it. I typically just walk everywhere I need to be. -d-
bard 2 the bone: He nodded at Callie's assessment of South Carolina. It was ok, he thought as well, though obviously not so much so to hold him there. His attention flitted over to the stage thereafter while he continued to nurse his drink, rather enthralled by the diversity of the acts and the people observing them. He'd only been to one or two places like this before, though neither were quite so extravagant. When he noticed Elle making her return he tipped his chin up to grab her attention, should she be looking, before taking another swig. [d]
Alex Vipond: "Just remember, I'm the Allstate part of the equation, not the Mayhem." Alex listened and thought back, one brow rising. "I was there in ......" he squinted. "2001. Yeah. Odd. Haven't been back since. I mean not to work, been through there..." Alex applauded as the act came to its conclusion and then he looked over at Alec. "You should, it's great. Unless you're on the 405 at like 7:30, 8:00 in the morning, then people have lost their minds and you're doing like five miles an hour, if you're lucky."
CabalisticCore: There was a lot of color in a place like this, in terms of sexuality, gender, race and wardrobe. It was the kind of place where people who felt different fit right in. She was heading back, swinging walk, skirt flaring behind her, heading for her stool. When she saw Aaron tilt his chin she redirected her steps, came to rest at the bar beside him. "Something I can do for you, Sugarchilde? My friends treating you okay, I hope? If the Queen has to roll heads, she will. I'm a tyrant when roused," [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he chuckled faintly:: Something about machines created by man makes me nervous to a degree. It's hard to explain I suppose. -d-
CabalisticCore: behind her, ehading for her stool. When she saw Aaron tilt his chin she redirected her steps, came to rest at the bar beside him. "Something I can do for you, Sugarchilde? My friends treating you okay, I hope? If the Queen has to roll heads, she will. I'm a tyrant when roused," [d]
Alex Vipond: "I like the power behind it. The car that really will get your blood pumping is the Tesla. They're awesome." Don't ask. Don't get him started. He'll be pulling the tech specs up on his phone.
bard 2 the bone: Her assumption garned another smile though he shook his head. "I can believe it," he said in a warm baritone. "No, I was just curious," his gaze moved beyond her and back towards the stage momentarily. "Are there shows likes this here every night?" Or was he just lucky?[d]
CabalisticCore: Elle laughed, a bright throaty purr of a noise. "Oh sweetness, this is Thursday! We're only just getting started!" She gathered her skirt to the side and caught lip of the stool beside him. "We're dark Monday, Tuesday is our dessert bar, Wednesday and Thursdays we do a light line up; some girls who are new to the stage, or trying out new acts. Friday and Saturday all the stops come out. We've tried to move away from all lip-synching, so there's live singing, more dancing, skits. If a good gay-friendly comedian is in town, sometimes they'll do little sets. You should come Saturday night, it's non-stop, wall to wall." She flashed a smile, then tilted her head to the other three. "That goes for all of you; though I take it you're both musicians? If you're tickled, when you call the boss you should ask him for time in exchange for your donation and give the girls and boys a thrill." [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he smiled over at her:: Believe it or not I'm a musician as well. -d-
CabalisticCore: "Tsk, Not you, Feathers. You're adorable, but with a spot-light on you, all you'd do was peer out, bewildered." [d]
Alex Vipond: "Hey, I'd be happy to." Alex nodded, and then looked over at Alec. "Oh yeah?" And then he was chuckling at Elle.
RazielTheDamned: ::He chuckled hard at that:: I think I might surprise you dear one. I've been singing for a very long time. -d-
bard 2 the bone: He ought to have figured as much. Still, he could fathom this place packed to the gills on a weekend with something even more ostentatious going on upon the stage. He hasn't been out in a while, all things considered on the personal front and this place was a breath of fresh perfumed air compared to his rather unsavory day job. A nod was given while he considered the prospect of whiling away his Saturday here. Aaron knew he'd be on call, but that didn't stop him from admitting, "I'm sure I'll be around." And with that said he finished off the rest of his stout, slid the empty pint across the bar and stood to fish his billfold out of his pocket. He withdrew enough to cover the beer and a tip, laid it down beside the glass and took his coat from under the bar. "Later," he said to all of them while backing off, shrugging into his jacket and maneuvering through the throng of people towards the exit.[d]
CabalisticCore: "Singing and performing are two very different things," Elle returned. She waved a hand at Alex and Aaron, and if Adam enters, everyone is going to have a problem keeping all the As straight, and Elle mun is going to have to check the room for magnets. When Aaron stirred to leave, Elle made a sad little coo, but let him settle up, then air kissed both his cheeks and sent him off with a swat on the tushy before resuming her seat between Alec and and Alex. "You be safe on your way home, Sugarchilde," A sigh, and when he was out of earshot she gave a little sigh, a hand fluttering to her chest "Oh, the ones with the sweet eyes and the scruffy cheeks. They make my icy heart go pitty-pat," She turned, and gave Alec the eye. "Now; what work do you have that entails me?" [d]
Alex Vipond: "Nice meeting you." Alex lifted a hand to wave and then looked over at Callie, to see how she was doing before he lifted his glass once more. A chuckle was given at Elle's comment and then he was looking between her and Alec.
RazielTheDamned: ::he grinned and said jokingly:: Cheating on me all ready I see. ::He took another deep drink:: Before I answer your question you have to be sure you really want to know. -d-
CabalisticCore: "I don't remember deciding to be exclusive," Elle returned. "I should remind you of a well-known fact; It's good to be the Queen." [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::he grinned wide at that and chuckled hard, sidestepping that previous inquiry:: -d-
Alex Vipond: Oh, now that didn't sound ominous and Alex looked between them again, and then turned back to his drink. Odds were this was a conversation that did not warrant third parties unless said third party was a lawyer.
CabalisticCore: Actually, Elle doubted a lawyer would be helpful. The closest thing she could think of was a Winchester, but, let's be honest, if she got her hands on Dean Winchester, it was going to be a miracle if they made it out of bed and onto something supernatural unless a Wendigo was bouncing on the bed next to them demanding attention, and it was all going to be practice for when Dean went back to his own parallel universe and put it all to good use on Cas. What? Elle was the Captain of that ship. Cough. Anyway. Yeah, this was a talk for not now, and she only quirked a brow at him before shifting back to Alex and Callie. "Are you both in a band, then?" [d]
Alex Vipond: "I'm the musician, Callie owns a bar called The Grumpy Gator." Alex nodded. "As for me, I had a band, some years back, but I'm solo now."
RazielTheDamned: ::He nodded at that:: I've been to the Gator a few times, nice place. -d-
CabalisticCore: Brows went up, surprise. "I've heard of it, it's supposed to be quite the place," She said admiringly to Callie. "Well, I think we should be double honored to have you here!" [d]
Alex Vipond: "Callie's done a lot with the place." Alex nodded, glancing at her as he lifted his glass. "I think though it may be time for me to take her back to the Gator." It was getting late, after all. "And too, I have a pregnant fiancée to get home to... First though I have to get her some of that cheesecake you were mentioning." Adrienne would kick his ass if he went home without cheesecake when he had the chance to get some.
RazielTheDamned: Good luck with the pregnant fiancée, children are a true gift. It was good meeting you both. -d-
Alex Vipond: "Thank you and yes, we're very much looking forward to his arrival." Alex couldn't repress the smile if his life depended on it.
A Spirited Scion: All smiles really. "You guys should come on by the Gator sometime when you're not busy here." (d)
CabalisticCore: "Oh my goodness, she does need cheesecake, the poor woman!" Elle hopped off her stool and went through a door. She was only gone a minute or two before appearing once more with a tall black plastic container. "Two slices, on the house," She said, fetching out a very purple bag and setting the box in it. She also cast a smile to Callie. "I just might do that, get a chance to put my feet up!" [d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He smiled to Callie:: I'll be to stop by so long as you have decent scotch. -d-
Alex Vipond: He finished off his whiskey and rose, cash pulled to cover the tab and tip. "Thank you Elle. And I will have to bring Adrienne in." He accepted the bag, and then reached down to grasp the handle of his case. "We look forward to seeing you guys again."
A Spirited Scion: "Good scotch is the only way to go." She nodded in agreement with Alex. "We do. You guys take care. It was nice meeting you both." (d)
RazielTheDamned: ::He waved politely, and told himself he'd make the time to stop by and see them soon.:: -d-
Alex Vipond: Alex waved and then he was heading out with Callie. "Now... what was this you were saying about my driving?"
CabalisticCore: Elle blew them both kisses from behind the bar. "You're both dolls. Now, you be safe on your way home, and make sure that cheesecake gets home unsmooshed!"[d]
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, Alex nodded. "She'll have my ass if it's any other way." Don't get between his baby momma and her cheesecake.
CabalisticCore: Caramel macadamia nut cheesecake, no less.[d]
A Spirited Scion: Callie gave them a wave, chuckling. Alex would protect that cake with his life. "Your driving? Only that it's as safe as a scary driving instructor staring at you for putting a turn signal on too late and that you're my favorite driver and that you're going to let me drive home?" (d)
Alex Vipond: Alex regarded her for a long moment, eyes narrowing on her and then he let out a breath. "Fine, but don't you tell anyone I let you drive. Ki will have a cow, and the girls will hound me for the keys." He moved to the trunk and settled his case in, and then he dangled the keys out to her. "Riding shotgun in my own car..."
RazielTheDamned: ::He smiled over to Elle as the two of them left:: Nice kids. -d-
CabalisticCore: When they went, Elle had to go onstage, this time for some closing words. The bar would be open for another half an hour or so, but without anyone performing. She was onstage for a bit, and after she turned in her mic, she wove through tables, wishing goodbye, since most people took it as a cue to go. She eventually made it back to the mystery man, and actually climbed up a barstool to sit on the bar itself. "Goodness; what a night." She levered one of her shoes off and wiggled her toes. She loved heels, but a good eight hours in them could be hell.[d]
RazielTheDamned: ::He chuckled faintly and swung around to look to her:: You were great. -d-
CabalisticCore: "Mm, this is the only drag club you've ever been too, which means you have an insufficient data pool with which to make that assessment," she said, and pulled off the other heel, resting both feet on the barstool. There were still a few people lingering over the last of their drinks, tables being bussed, chairs put up. "Besides, I want to chat about the card now that it's just us," [d]
A Spirited Scion: Those keys were snatched gently from his fingers but oh how quickly. "Thank you!" Just like a little kid on Christmas morning and she was out the door, heading for the car! (d)
Alex Vipond: Alex slid into the passenger seat, and buckled up, cheesecake held protectively. And just to bust on her, he waited until she could see him, and then he crossed himself.
RazielTheDamned: ::He nodded a bit:: As per our agreement I'll answer any question you have with full honesty. -d-
CabalisticCore: Elle examined him a long moment, her hands resting on her knees. She knew he was some kind of warrior, and he didn't appear on security feeds, and he had her name on a card. Well. Her stage name. Her brow furrowed a bit. "The only thing I can think is that you're here to assassinate me, " She said with a bold kind of honesty.[d]
A Spirited Scion: "Such a smart ass." She smirked at the crossing, almost thumping him for it, but it was funny. Once she was in, buckled up and the car was started, they were pulling away from the club and heading on back home. She'd never driven a car like this and knowing how special it is to Alex, well, this might be like she was a little old lady all the way home. (d)
