Alex Vipond: With Grayson his in stroller, Alex had one hand on the handle, keeping one hand free. Adrienne by his side, was the same, one hand on the handle, one free. They'd gotten ice cream on their way to the park and Alex was doing his best to keep it off the stroller. No getting things gummed up and sticky. Taking another bite, he crunched through the chocolate shell of the ice cream bar as the ice cream itself tried to slid its way out of the corner of his mouth. Licking it up before it could get away, he chuckled. "I love these things. We should try making them at home."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne was mid-bite of a strawberry shortcake bar and she chuckled, trying not to make a mess with those crumbles on the outside. "I'm sure they make some kind of device that'll allow you to do so." What DIY machines aren't out there these days? "Probably wouldn't taste nearly as good or sinful, though.." She grinned, taking another bite. "I was reading that the weather's going to be really nice while we're in Italy." Head tilted slightly. "Forgot to check Paris, though..."
Alex Vipond: "I completely spaced it. I mean we're often rainy and wet so..." he shrugged. "Can't be any worse, right?" Or so went the theory. He could check the weather in Paris, but at the moment he was working on his ice cream bar and he didn't want sticky fingers on that either.
Wrinkled Black: "Mmm, I dunno. I feel like Italy's got more of that Mediterranean climate, doesn't it? Here..." The stroller had a smooth enough push that Alex could easily push it one handed, which allowed her to whip out her phone. "Looks like low fifties through the week, but dry!" Always a bonus when feet are turning webbed from living in Seattle.
Alex Vipond: Chuckling, Alex nodded, as he shifted his hand more to the middle of the handle and then glanced along the path. "I just hope we have the weather to be able to drop the top for a bit." There was just something about tooling around Europe in a convertible.... He looked into the stroller at Grayson. "Can he handle wind like that? What if he sucks in a bug?"
Wrinkled Black: "Oooh, yeah, that'd be fun." Her mouth slanted, though, at the thought of the baby in the convertible. "Well, he'll be rear facing, so we shouldn't be worried about his swallowing bugs. We could always look into some kind of weather shield for the wind, though.."
Alex Vipond: Alex imagined what that would look like and then cracked up. "Do they make baby sized hamster balls?" He could just picture that and yes, he was cracking up all the more for it. "Just something to act as a wind break, really is all that's needed." He was still smirking about the hamster ball though as he finished off his ice cream bar. As they passed the next trash bin, he tossed the stick into it, then licked his fingers clean.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne laughed, shaking her head. "No, I don't think they make baby sized hamster balls. Nor does the world need one, so get that out of your head." She could already hear the gears turning in his head. "I think they make, like, plastic curtains or something. We'll check it out when we get home, won't we?" She was asking Grayson that before going back to her ice cream. "I can't wait until he's older and can really appreciate the traveling." Eyes suddenly widened. "Disneyland!"
Alex Vipond: Alex nodded and then when she got all excited about Disneyland, he grinned at her. "Oh you know we have to go, at least once a year." Take pictures of Grayson each year with the all the characters. "We can do that this summer, can't we? He's not too young to go is he? I mean no he won't remember it, but if we start now, we can get a picture of him with Snow White and Mickey and all them. One each year."
Wrinkled Black: No denying they were both big kids at heart. "I mean, yeah, he won't remember, and we won't be able to go on the big kid rides together unless we bring someone with us, but..." She shrugged. It's not like they made $30k a year.
Alex Vipond: They had the resources. The rides Alex wasn't so much concerned with, but he would try them out. He'd not been on a ride since.... "1902." he nodded, and then glanced around, before he looked back at Adrienne and smiled. "That was the last time I was on an amusement ride. It was the Leap the Dips roller coaster at Lakemont Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania." He chuckled. "By today's standards it would be tame, but it was all the rage at the time."
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne's jaw dropped and she looked at him wide-eyed as she threw out her wrapper and stick finally. "Wait, are you serious? Oh, no no..." Catching up with a quick jog, she gave him a light hip check. "Here's what we're going to do. Next time we're in LA, we'll leave Grayson with Rosaria for the day and really enjoy the park."
Alex Vipond: Cracking up at the hip check, he staggered to the side as if she'd really plowed into him. "Medic!" He slipped his arm around her, drawing her close to his side as they started walking again, left hand now on the handle of the stroller as the right rested on her hip. "But we still have to take him so we can get pictures of him with the characters so we'll have to make two trips to the park." Two trips. Like they could see it all in two trips.
Wrinkled Black: "Mmm, maybe three trips? It's two parks now, and they've added a shit ton to California Adventures since I've last been." Which was really when it first opened, it was kind of crappy.
