Sawyer E Monroe: "Okay...so that's actually sweet" Laughing softly, she gave him a bitey kiss and sighed, as if giving him any information was an epic pain in her ass. "If it will appease your curiosity, I will let you know… something. I don't treat all men the way I treat you or Alec. I’m not out batting my lashes and making a wish list of potential sexploitations" That kiss did make her toes curl, just a little, but totally had to shove him after it was in that post kiss glow and he smirkingly asked his questions. "I decided to get a plant. I’m not crazy enough to get baby fever no matter how adorable that kid is. ...But I am looking at cacti ownership as a step toward nurturing." Turned in his hold, laughing softly as she rested back against him, watching the lights popping off in the small fireworks show. –d
Aere Perennius: Information was key. Simply put it was what he was looking for. Even if he had to drag it out of her. He tilted his head a bit as he listened. A slow nod given though those bitey kisses had a groan rumbling forth from deep within his chest. Another reason he turned her around, so he could concentrate on the fireworks. The reason he'd asked her here. If not he was certain he'd get caught up in doing things that were not quite public approved. Hands splayed on her belly one set of digits began that familiar task of writing his name over the white silk of her dress. "Excellent idea. Not quite a big step like getting a dog or cat, but clearly a step up in responsibility. Or maybe a half-step. I approve." A wry little grin offered as he placed a brief kiss upon the top of her blonde head. "Thank you." For the information? For coming? She'd have to figure that out on her own. Cause his gaze was soon drawn to the colorful explosions in the night sky.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: It was fair to say he had to drag most information out of her. She played her emotions close to her chest, despite how animated she could be. The real feelings, those were under lock and key. She rested back against him, hands resting atop his and just being lazy in that lean. The fireworks were lovely, yes, but Sawyer people watched. Mainly because people were vastly entertaining. His commentary about her cactus idea had lips twisting into a grin. "I thought about a dog, but I don’t think I can handle that. I might try a goldfish if the cactus and I get along" Grinning at that kiss, she enjoyed the show before them. –d
an Prionsa dubh: Edward was not interested in the fireworks, he was merely out for a walk. He kept away from the lamp light, clad in denim and leather and shadow. One hand cupped a cigarette, shielding the glow of the cherry as he took a drag. The couple drew his attention, the woman for her stunning beauty, the man for his... well; he was interesting to say the least. Taking another drag from his smoke, he then rolled the fire out and crushed it under foot, before he tossed the butt into the nearest rubbish bin.
Aere Perennius: She could watch whatever she wished. The main thing he wanted was her there in his arms. Which was exactly where she was. "I'd stick with a cactus for now... and if it lives and you are a good girl for a month, then perhaps you'll have proven you can handle a goldfish.. and we'll work our way up from there.." He could already imagine having to switch out goldfish when one died, which had him chuckling softly. "What kind of dog would you like though?" He was curious. Cause this could be one of those break it things, especially if she mentioned a yapper. Feeling eyes upon him he'd slide his gaze from the fireworks towards the figure. A lingering glance then back to the fireworks.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: Lips pursed, blowing a strand of blonde from her brow, watching a pair of kids running circles around their parents trying to enjoy the show. Yep, cactus was totally her speed. Then the a young couple with glow sticks and laughter, groups of girls laughing and talking. This was a nice bit of normal right here. "Hmm, if I had to pick? Well...nothing that drooled a lot. And nothing with a whole heap of hair. I like the little ones, but let's be serious, I drink too much to have something tiny, I'd misplace it, and then I'd be sad...probably find it a month later in the wine cellar. And I just really don’t want to go through that" A grin and she added "Maybe I can GPS one?" And she burst into melodic laughter, just imagining herself with a dog with a glowing red dot. –d
an Prionsa dubh: His gaze went back to the woman and though Edward had every intention of quitting the area, he found himself rooted to the spot. Even as children ran about and dodged around him, his attention wavered only slightly. He found himself stepping forward, right into a scurrying child. As the child went back, Edward crouched to help the lad up. A smile given him, a ruffle of his hair, and then he sent him on to his mother. Watching the child for a moment, Edward then turned his head to look back at the woman who seemed to have a fondness for cacti. Or an aversion to animals.
Aere Perennius: "That.. actually narrows it down a good bit." A low chuckle given. He was clearly amused by her words. "They -do- have chips you can have put in if they get lost so they can be returned to you, though I'm not sure if they offer GPS. Though I'd suggest something large. Simply can't lose a large dog.." Fingers continued to slowly write his name upon her stomach as gaze shifted to the small disturbance with the children. A faint smile on those thin lips before gaze lifted back to the fireworks. "So have you named the cactus yet? I know how you like to name everything..." She couldn't see that smirk, but she could most likely tell it was there.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: She was enjoying her people watching, trying not to think of that dead dog in a cellar she doesnt even have yet scenario! SAD! Laughing softly she teased "Maybe when Im old and near blind, I'll just get one of those seeing eye dogs that fetch everything. For now, a cactus, and I'm totally naming him Bob. Knew a Bob once and he was a prick, so it fits" The kid interaction drew her attention and ...well..she completely didn't see the lil cherub hellion any more once she was locking blue eyes on that profile. That profile was very, very familiar. She looked over her shoulder, then back...over...and back. Now see this is the part where everyone be thankful Sawyer doesn't know about shape shifters yet or she'd be having a whole other reaction! Such as it is though, she was gently prodding Decimus;' hands to move from around her and whispering in awe "Thisissoflippinstrange" The words all jumbled together, but that blonde was moving to the man with a look of utter awe on her face. A look to Decimus, then Edward, to and fro as she moved closer to the stranger with her lover's face..."Hello...sir?" Because to not learn more would be a sin! –d
an Prionsa dubh: As she stepped from the arms of the man who bore such remarkable resemblance, he rose, his eyes drinking her in and though he knew it impossible, knew precisely where his beloved lay, the resemblance between his Joan and this woman was more than passing. "Edward." He took her hand, wanted or not, and brought it up to his lips, head bowed as he brushed a kiss to her fingers, before straightening. "And you are?" There was no mistaking the English accent, despite the time and distance from his home.
Aere Perennius: Ka-blink. He'd been in his own littler world. Cactus' and animals. So when Sawyer drew his attention to the fellow with an resemblance to himself he couldn't help but stare. Her words were spot on even if they came out in one jumbled mess. He though would let her free from the gentle embrace of his arms and shortly after her departure would follow. His gaze never leaving the man's. This was odd in almost every sense of the word. Those dark emeralds studying the fellows features up close and personal now as he'd drawn close. A slight frown tugging at his lips as fingers scratched at the stubble along his jawline in deep thought. "By Venus' tits..." Only on rare occasions did such curses utter from those thin lips.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: She neared and that smile grew, lit up her blue eyes and just radiated from her. Silly as it was, her hand slipped to his and she sort of dipped a curtsey. Just a slight bend of the knee and giving his hand a gentle squeeze of her hand to his. Wait...what was her name? Ah yes. "....Sawyer, hello.." A bite to her lower lip and she studied his face with unabashed curiosity. There were differences. The eyes, the set of his lips, the demeanor that gave forth his expressions. But in a general line up? Remarkable. "This is Decimus..." She still had his hand, woops, she'd just slide it free, quiet laughter twined with her words. "I saw the resemblance and I had to meet you. I hope we aren't intruding too much" –d
an Prionsa dubh: He regarded the chap, taking him in and it was rather like looking in a mirror, with one exception. The man standing before him was not a reverse image of himself, but rather a startlingly close doppelgänger. There were minute differences but one could easily take them for twins. Looking back at the lovely woman, Edward smiled, and sorely tempted he was to lift his hand and trace his fingertips across her countenance. " He offered Decimus his hand. "Edward Angevin. A... bizarre pleasure it is to make your acquaintance."
Aere Perennius: There were differences of course but it was still a rather interesting position to be in. As that hand was offered he'd take it in a firm grip and give it a hearty shake. "Decimus Libo. And yes, a very bizarre pleasure indeed..." Differences in mannerisms and those small details noted before he'd cast a glance to Sawyer. He couldn't help that smirk once more surfacing. He could -almost- read her thoughts. Or at least see the way those wheels were spinning in her pretty little head. A slight chuckle and gaze slid back to Edward. "So what brings you to Seattle?" Arms folded slowly over his broad chest as fingers settled upon covered biceps. The sudden thought he needed a shave floating through his head.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: At least she didn't clasp her hands together and twirl like a girl getting dropped into candy land or something. Mentally, maybe, because LOOK. Give the woman her moment to bask in the fact she was standing nearly between them, the view was awesome! "It is a pleasure to meet you, Edward...and I..I cannot imagine the situation of meeting someone with such a close resemblance, but I am relieved my mind isn't playing tricks on me" She touched them both lightly on the arm before gesturing to a coffee vendor set up with a cart. "Either of you care for a bit of coffee?" –d
an Prionsa dubh: "Family. I've a cousin here, who's recently had a child and I fear I have been somewhat remiss in my visitation of the expanding family." The fact that his cousin even had a child was something of a mystery to him, and no small amount of concern. The touch to his arm drew his attention back to her and he nodded, smiling. "But of course." Edward gave a slight nod of his head and gestured with a hand in invitation, before offering his arm out to her. "Shall we?"
Aere Perennius: Fingers continued to scratch at his stubble in thought as he listened to the conversation. Though when the mention of coffee was brought up he'd give a slight dip of his head. "Yes, that sounds like a good idea.." Leaning in he'd give a brief kiss to Sawyer's lips. A teasing touch before that smirk resurfaced. Yes, he could clearly see where her mind was going. So when Edward offered his arm? He of course offered his own to her. Knowing full well that beautiful blonde would most likely enjoy it. It was an amusing little experience by far. "Family, is an important thing indeed."-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: Laughing softly, she returned the kiss before she slipped a hand into the crook of each of their offered arms. "Babies are in season, it seems. I just bought my first baby gift for friends I've recently met. Try not to look the little ones directly in the eyes, they draw you in like snake charmers...but with chubbier cheeks" No one with or without a pulse would blame Sawyer one bit for enjoying this! Hell, she was being well behaved in not trying to kiss the man to see if it was a twilight zone effect. But you know...there's coffee to be had! "The name Angevin sounds so familiar" She made straight A's in school, but no, she did not retain much of her history lessons! None the less, the blond in leather and lace was having an awesome time thus far! –d
an Prionsa dubh: "A rather belated nod to my French relations." Edward smiled as they neared the stand and the three of them together did draw a good deal of attention. One hand slipped into the pocket of his jeans and he pulled up his cash, sifting through the bills to weed the pound notes from the dollars. "Coffee, black for me and for my lovely company...." Looking at Sawyer he smiled; then looked to Decimus, and back to the clerk. "And my... brother." How else would one explain that?
Aere Perennius: With Sawyer's arm hooked with his he'd give her hand a gentle pat as they walked. Though his mind was roaming over this newly found person, he kept an ear to the passing conversation. "French relations.. the Angevin Empire." Sure it wasn't his forte but history was something he knew a bit about though as distracted as he was he wasn't on point. A double did that to you. As they reached the coffee stand and he was called 'brother' he offered Edward a warm smile. "Sugar, cream, and just a small cup. I don't want to stay up all night.." A glance down to Sawyer who was as giddy as a school girl. He was amused at her amusement.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: She had to give them their arms back..she did not think this through - go figure! But yes, she was smiling with obvious glee. Perhaps her mind wandered a bit, because when he called her lovely there was a slight blush to her cheeks. Sign of the guilty is what her grandmother would've called that right there! "Cream, no sugar, thank you" That to the vendor before she was looking between them...and just..she had to stop letting her mind roam! Ha! Once the coffee was made , she offered thanks, then the smile to Edward "Thank you for the coffee. You'll have to let us return the gesture if you're in town for long" Who knew how long one visited for the sake of a baby meeting? -d
an Prionsa dubh: "Yes." Edward nodded to Decimus. "Quite so." The cash was given over to the barista, the change left for a tip, and then he was smiling down at Sawyer. "You are most welcome. So you are new to the area?" He took a cautious sip of the brew, before continuing. "I should be about for a bit. Perhaps through the summer. I do have to return to the east coast come fall, however as that is where my cousin is going to wed."
Aere Perennius: Coffee was taken with his right hand as his left arm snaked around Sawyer's waist gently. Fingers splaying upon her side. "I'm a history professor." As if that would explain it all. "Indeed we will. There are a number of good restaurants in the area.. and a coffee shop pretty much on every corner.." A starbucks across from a starbucks. Such was Seattle. ".. and thank you as well for the coffee." Cup lifted in a salute to the man. Pardon his manners. Another sip taken from his cup. It was nice and warm with the cool night breeze about them.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: Both hands around the cup, lips puckered and she blew gently over the surface, inhaling the fragrant aroma. She returned Edward's smile warmly. "I've been here just a few months. I'll give you my number - between family matters... give a call? " French relations, doppelgänger, accent, courtly. Yes, she wanted to know more and would just invite herself into a number swap to make that happen! A grin over to Decimus at his remark about coffee shops, soo true! Blue eyes once again on Edward, a bit hopeful in her expression in the hope he would take her up on that offer! –d
an Prionsa dubh: "It was my pleasure." Nodding to Decimus he then asked, "And where do you teach history?" When Sawyer said she'd give him her number, he nodded and reached into his pocket, his phone pulled out, unlocked and offered out to her to input her number. When Decimus made the comment about coffee shops, Edward chuckled. "A brilliant stroke of marketing that. Not only do they seep into the brain of caffeine starved commuters, but by having them on nearly every corner, they keep the masses no matter which way their traveling in rush hour traffic, from having to cross the road to reach them."
Aere Perennius: "At the local college..." He couldn't help the chuckle at Sawyer's almost bouncing as she wanted to swap numbers. It was amusing to him though he could understand why. Fingers lightly rubbed along her side as he took another sip from his cup. "If you don't mind, I'll get your number from her. I'd like to discuss a few things with you concerning history and family, perhaps.. there is a relation somewhere back there that leads to this meeting.." It was about the only thing he could come up with right now to explain it. ".. indeed. And if one is busy you can easily walk to the other..." Another sip of his coffee given.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: She took his phone with a bright smile. Taking a drink of coffee as she tried to type in with her thumb. Slip of digit and she hit the A instead of S on his contact list, instantly seeing Alex and Adrienne's number. She quickly corrected her misstep and added her information. But in offering the phone back, she spoke up "In adding my information, I couldn’t help but see Alex and Adrienne...is he your cousin? With baby Grayson?" Her smile brightened, adding "He just mentioned your name at dinner, if that's so" –d
an Prionsa dubh: "I would say there would most assuredly have to be, at some point in the genealogy." Edward took the phone back as Sawyer offered it out and he smiled. "You know my cousin then." He smiled. "Yes, and his bride to be and their son. Very wonderful woman, I met her in New York last summer when they stopped in to see me." He smiled. "How is the baby Grayson? I've not seen him since the baptism."
Aere Perennius: "Isn't it a small world.." The fact that his relatives were Alex and Adrienne as well as the babe Grayson wasn't something he'd expected, but it was interesting. He'd grow silent though as the two conversed. His gaze lingering on Edward for the while. It was odd seeing someone that look much like yourself, though he got to see in a way how he looked with the various facial motions and talking. It was interesting. Another sip from his cup taken as he added his two cents near the end. "I'll need to stop by next time he does a BBQ, I was unfortunately swamped today so I couldn't make it.."-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: She laughed softly, her hand on Edward's forearm "That's the baby I was warning you about looking directly at him. He's oozing all this baby charm that ropes you in:" Kids running, hyper blonde, it was a disaster waiting to happen One of those glow sticks went flying and SPLOOSH, her coffee was now art decor on her white lace dress, her lips fashioned to an O. "Annndd...this is why Im sticking with a cactus for all my nurturing needs. I like wearing white. Edward, I need to go handle this...but call me, please? I'd love to talk more" A look up to Dec "I will see you soon, I've got to get this dress in the laundry asap" -d
an Prionsa dubh: With his phone back in his hand, he sent off a test text to Sawyer so she would have his number and could pass it on to Decimus. Looking back at Decimus, Edward nodded. "Alex prides himself in being king of the back yard barbecue." Edward chuckled, but really the man did have a talent for it. "Somewhat ironic when you consider it." When she mentioned that Grayson was the child she'd warned about, Edward chuckled. "Infants tend to tug on heart strings with great alacrity." And then there's that. Edward regarded the spilled coffee and then back at Sawyer's face. "Are you quite alright?"
Aere Perennius: Glow stick in the coffee. Now that was unexpected as well. "Let me help you.. I need to get back home myself, been a long day and I'm ready to enjoy a nice long rest as well as a shower." A hand offered to Edward once more as it slipped from Sawyer's waist. "A pleasure to meet you Edward. Considering who your cousin is, I'm certain we will see each other again. But the night is late and even with this coffee sleep is so very needed....that and I think the dress needs a good pre-treatment before the coffee stain sets in.. hate for that dress to be ruined, she looks quite fetching in it.. though she looks beautiful in almost anything..." A chuckle given.-d-
Sawyer E Monroe: "Other than about to have a transparent dress? I'm alright, thank you" A step in, lean up and a kiss to his cheek, but careful not to get her coffee self on him. "We'll talk soon? If not, I'll do this thing with the pout, horrible, really. " She was teasing him, that grin in place. And Decimus earned a grin, bit blushy with it-d
an Prionsa dubh: Edward took Decimus' hand once more. "Quite right." Looking back at Sawyer, Edward nodded. "Yes, I imagine she would look beautiful in literally anything." He smiled and when she leaned in to press a kiss to his cheek, his eyes closed, her scent inhaled as his arm slipped around her in brief hold in that hug, whispering, "I bid you good night," before he released her.
Aere Perennius: Grin offered to Edward and once Sawyer was free, he was scooping her up in his arms to carry her slender ass on out. A few whispered words given to her as he flashed Edward as grin as he carried her off to her car for the trip home. Talk about the most interesting meeting ever.-d
an Prionsa dubh: Edward watched them go, one brow rising as he contemplated the curiosity. He then drained his cup and tossed it into the rubbish bin, before he slipped his hands into his pockets and started for the lot and the car he'd rented for the duration of his stay.
