*Scene takes place on a ole abandon farm outside the city limits.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby's mind was a whirl wind of... worry. For a few reasons. Normally, going out on location for a shoot with her equipment would not only lift her spirits, but give her some peace of mind and some clairity. However, that wasn't the case at all today. She couldn't make herself focus and itonly frustrated her more. Maybe what she needed was to talk to someone. But who? Then... it came to her. Sasha. Though, there was a concern there. With what Abby wanted to talk about, there was a good chance that it would be shared with Mars, and then Leland. Something she wasn't sure if she wanted him to know yet as she was trying to be optimistic about things. After a few moments thought, Abby sent Sasha a text message. [Text] Hey, was wondering if you weren't to busy, have you got time to help a friend? [end] Abby sat in her truck and waited for a reply. [d]
Sasha M Gray
When the text came in, Sasha checked the screen, then fired one back. Sure thing, what do you need? Once the text was sent, she finished loading the last of her stuff in the car. Her furniture she was leaving in the apartment for the renter, it wasn't needed at Mars's place, but her personal crap she needed to have out. As she loaded the last box in the car, she looked back at the place, then slid in behind the wheel and waited for Abby's reply.
Nocturnal Legacy
She sat staring across the open farm field. When the phone buzzed, she picked it back up and read over the reply before returning one. [Text] I need to talk to someone. I... I think things are going south in a certain area... But I'm not sure, so ... was wondering if you could talk and maybe give me your opinion on it all. [end] She hit send and was once more, waiting patiently as she fidgeted with a piece of camera equipment. [d]
Sasha M Gray
Reading the message, she dialed rather than texted. "You okay? You want a face to face? I can meet you." Shit had been crazy of late and tough girls needed to tough it out, together.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby's phone rang and she answered it, seeing it was Sasha. "Hey... and I.. I don't know yet. But yes, I think a face to face talk would be best. I just need to talk to someone soon. Otherwise, I think I'm going to drive myself crazy and possibly over nothing. I just don't know yet." Yes, things had been very chaotic lately. "But if you're busy... I don't want to take you away from anything or anyone." [d]
Sasha M Gray
"No, I'm good, where are you?" She turned the engine over and checked her mirror before backing out of the drive, into the street.
Nocturnal Legacy
"I'm out on location. At a old farm field." She paused a moment to look at the map and then rattled off the road name and mile marker. She gazed back out through the windshield then. "If its easier, I can come to you. Just tell me where." she replied. [d]
Sasha M Gray
"I'm on my way." She smiled, "You hang tight, I'll be there in two shakes." She hung up and headed for the farm. She didn't roll code three but she didn't drag feet either.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby nodded and gave a small soft smile, even though Sasha wasn't able to see it. "Thanks Sasha. I really appreciate this.. I just... I don't know what to do...never been in this situation before." There was a small pause before she added. "Okay, see you soon." With that, the call ended and Abby sat quietly in the cab of her truck while she waited for Sasha. She picked up her phone again, hoping to see a missed call or maybe even a message, as usual lately... nothing from him. This only added to her worry. [d]
Sasha M Gray
When Sasha arrived at the farm, she slowed, rolling toward the truck, eyes sliding over the area as she took in the minute details of the place. Killing the engine, she pulled the keys and slid out, heading for Abby's truck.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby's head lifted at the sound of Sasha's car, long before it ever came into sight. When the car reached her and was parked, Abby was about to hop out, but then saw Sasha was making her way over to her. Abby stretched across the seat and unlocked the passenger side door for her friend before she righted herself in her seat, behind the steering wheel. [d]
Sasha M Gray
Sasha rounded the truck and hopped in, door closed to ward off the chill before she turned in the seat to face her as if they were sitting on the sofa in the living room. "Spill it."
Nocturnal Legacy
Once Sasha was in, Abby was about to turn to her to say something, but Sasha was already asking questions. Abby frowned. "I.. I think Leland and I are in trouble." she said. "Or... well... at least our relationship might be. I don't know... Its been a long long time since I've been with anyone and he's the first in over several years." She looked from Sasha and then down, biting her lip. "Things aren't like they use to be, between us. At least... not lately." [d]
Sasha M Gray
"You want I should hit him upside back of the head and tell him to pull it out of his ass?" She would. In a heartbeat.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby smiled, briefly, but it was a smile. She knew Sasha was trying to cheer her up, even if it was the truth. She knew the woman could hold her own, even against the Jones' brothers. "He doesn't call as much... or text as much...He hasn't really been around as much either. And the night of the attack... I just felt completely ignored after he regained some consciousness. I'd give him a reassuring touch or caress or something and ..just... nothing. No look my way, no smile, no nothing." she paused. "Is that a bad sign?" she asked before looking to Sasha with a questionable gaze. "I can't tell you the last time we have gone out together... its been several weeks. At least." she paused. "Am I being to selfish you think? Or... maybe its not him, maybe its me..." she frowned again. [d]
Sasha M Gray
"No, I think he's being a dick." She shook her head and let out a breath. "Men are often clueless. And Leland better snap the hell out of his state of being the center of the universe and remember what he's got. I wouldn't take that shit from Mars, and you sure as shit shouldn't from Leland." Course as busy as Sasha was, she likely wouldn't notice at first. She tended to get caught up in her work and when she did, she pretty much had a one track mind.
Nocturnal Legacy
"Then... there's this ...incident that happen last week." She shrugged her shoulders. "Its probably nothing but... I found it odd." she added. She looked from Sasha to the field. "You know TC right?" she asked. Not yet looking to her friend. [d]
Sasha M Gray
"He was at the garage the night the ghouls attacked. Saved the boys who'd locked themselves into the office from being torn to shreds." She nodded. "Why?"
Nocturnal Legacy
"Yeah... " she cleared her throat. "Well, I was at Styx pool hall a few days ago. Just needed some off time. I had just started a game and he came in. Joined me. We had fun, was a good game. But it came down to his last shot and he wanted to make a bet. So I said sure." Abby paused and slowly cut her eyes to Sasha. "He wanted a kiss if he made the shot." Blues gauged Sasha's reaction before continuing. "I didn't think he would make it, cause it really looked impossible. But... he did. And he kissed me." [d]
Sasha M Gray
Her eyes widened, and then she leaned in. "And?" Deets were needed here. She'd seen TC, knew he was a damned good looking man, and that if she were single, had she never met Mars... she'd be in the middle of. She waggled her fingers at her. "Spill."
Nocturnal Legacy
For a moment, Abby thought Sasha was gonna smack her. But then when Sasha asked for details, Abby shrugged her shoulders and blushed. "Well... it was good. Real good. But I felt guilty. Yet... nice. It was good to feel like someone sees me still. Yanno?" she sighed. "I just wonder, with him asking for such a thing... if it means he's interested in me... or if it was just a prize with our game." Thinking back on that moment, the kiss had been breathtaking. Which is why it made her question his reason behind it. "What do you think?" she asked, finally. [d]
Sasha M Gray
"I think TC does not lack for female companionship, ever." She chuckled. "He's one of those men that you will never find moss on. My grams would have called him a maverick. Untamable."
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby nodded and chuckled. "Well, either way, if felt nice to be noticed." She looked from Sasha to the field again. "Its been a long time since Leland has kissed me like that." she sighed. "I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should say something and risk starting trouble between us if its nothing... or just keep quiet and hope that whatever this is, just...passes." She looked to Sasha with sad eyes. "I love Leland, I do. But... I don't want to just be some... trophy girl. Just there when he wants me to be and once he's done, just puts me back on the shelf." [d]
Sasha M Gray
"No, keeping quiet is never the right thing. It makes you miserable, and him even more clueless. Men don't think as women do. They only want to know when we're happy, so as long as we don't say anything, they'll continue in their delusional little world, thinking all is fine when it's not."
Nocturnal Legacy
"So you think I should go to him?" she asked. "But what if he gets mad? What if I start something over nothing?" Brows arched and pinched together in concern. [d]
Sasha M Gray
"Better to know, then not know, and if he gets mad because you want his attention, then he's not worth yours." She locked her eyes on her. "You deserve someone who is going to treat you with respect, not someone who is going to ignore you."
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby sighed and nodded. Even got a little teary eyed. Was she worried? Of course she was. All of this was very stressful for her. She blinked away the moisture though and nodded. "Okay... I'll try and sit down with him soon then. So we can talk." Abby needed to know if Leland still wanted her. Still needed her. If he even still loved her. If he did, well, there needed to be some major changes to get things back on track. If not? Well, she'd have to give him back the ring and try to move on. [d]
Sasha M Gray
Sasha grasped her arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You know you can talk to me, any time, about anything, no matter what, right?"
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby nodded and smiled as her hand came to over lap Sasha's. "I do ... especially now." Abby bobbled her head softly a moment. "Thank you for coming out here and talking with me Sasha. Really. Its helped some. Even if to just get some of it off my chest." [d]
Sasha M Gray
"Keeping things bottled up doesn't do any good, they tend to build pressure and blow at the most inopportune times." She nodded. "Tell him. Flat out. Pull your head out of your ass.... And then see if he can actually follow through on it. If not..." She shrugged. "Cut him lose."
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby wasn't sure if she could do that. Sure, she could tell him how she felt, how things were and that they weren't good. Not from her stand point. But cut him loose? Abby had never had to leave anyone before. In the past, she was always the one left behind. Abby didn't say anything on it and instead, just nodded. "Since you came out here to help me... is there something I can help you with? I want to do something for you now. Because I really am glad I called on you and you were able to come out here and talk with me about all this." [d]
Sasha M Gray
"I'm good." She smiled. "I'm just glad that you let me lend my ears. We all have moments where we need to a shoulder to cry or lean on, and an ear to hear us out." Generally that would be where Leland came in but obviously he was dropping the ball. "And just let me know if you want me to kick his ass."
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby nodded and chuckled before she leaned over and gave Sasha a hug. Yes. A hug. Abby was the affectionate sort despite her quiet and protective nature when it came to those she cared for. She tried not to smoother Sasha to much before pulling away. "I will. But I'm hoping it won't come to that." she replied. Abby glanced to the dashboard clock and then to Sasha. "I hope I didn't keep you. But if you need to get going, I understand. Bills don't pay themselves." [d]
Sasha M Gray
The hug was returned and she chuckled at her words about bills. "Actually I'm just moving the last of my stuff from my apartment to Mars's place. I got the place sublet. Just hope she's not some weirdo."
Nocturnal Legacy
"Oh yeah? So.... Mars asked you to move in?" she asked. Her arms fell to her side and her hands to her lap. Fingers from the right hand rotated the ring on her left hand, idly. Obviously, she was still a bit tense about going and talking to Leland. [d]
Sasha M Gray
"Yes." She nodded. "And oddly enough, six months ago, I never would have considered it. I was too locked in being in my own space, not wanting anyone to have any kind of sway over me, but now...." She shrugged.
Nocturnal Legacy
"That's good. I'm glad things are going well for you both. I know its a bit slow, but considering what Mars has been through, its at least moving forward. Better than him being stuck in a rut and holding you back." she nodded. "I hope things continue to go well for ya'll." For a moment, Abby was jealous of Sasha. From where she sat, things were looking good for the pair. She wanted that again for herself and Leland. "I'm sure it'll take some getting use to, but you're good at adapting." nod followed. [d]
Sasha M Gray
Sasha leaned in and gave her another hug. "He fucks this up, and I will kick his ass into the middle of next week." And she meant it too. Leland didn't know how good he had it.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby gave the hug back and nodded. She honestly hope she and Leland could pick up the pieces they some how had dropped along the way and put it all back together. "Alright, well, I know you need to get going, but if you need help.. let me know. Once I finish up here, I'll probably stop by home and maybe go out for a drink or something." [d]
Sasha M Gray
"Okay." She smiled, and slid from the truck. "You be careful going home, the roads are a mess." She closed the door softly and rounded the truck a wave given as she slid into her car and headed back for the city.
Nocturnal Legacy
Abby nodded and gave a smile. " I will. You do the same and I'll call you later." she said to Sasha, out through the driver side window. A wave was given to the Captain and then she watched as she headed out. Abby finished up her business and it wasn't long after Sasha left, Abby was headed down the ole dirt road and back to the main road. [d]
Nocturnal Legacy
