(Disclaimer: this is an NPC character, not Jake.)
--Obviously, the oil baron of Southern Louisiana, Elliott Belhomme was not pleased tonight. Already married 3 times, all to far younger woman, Elliott had his sights on Ms. Quinterre and knew her parents were the key to get her married off for stronger ties between the families. Sitting at his large plantation home outside of Shay's hometown, Elliott had the fire roaring in his study with a glass of bourbon, steaming about Shay's disappearing act.
After speaking with Shay's parents, he had some information on her whereabouts, but he was ready to lay claim to what the Quinterre's had promised him; their lovely daughter. He gave her a call, obviously not very pleased and a little drunk. Not quite slurring his words drunk, but enough to make an asshole an even bigger one. He left the voicemail, saying--
"Shay, it's Elliott. I'm getting kinda tired of you not picking up your phone. It's been days since I've spoken with you, and me and your family are very worried about you. Don't think your parents didn't see your credit card recepits and showing you're marooned somewhere in Hawaii. You need to come home, and see your soon to be husband. If you don't, I'll be forced to track you down there and bring you back myself. Do the right thing and call me. You can't run from your future forever love, see you soon."

[ Again, this isn't Jake. It's an NPC being played temporarily by Jake's mun for the sake of the story. This is also a series of text messages this time around, not a voicemail. ]
Elliott (NPC): --Elliott had invited two local call girls over, one that moonlighted as a dominatrix, the other just a normal college co-ed type, and were at his mansion. They were in the study, with the college co-ed bent over with her hands and ankles tied to a chair, while the older dominatrix type flogged her bare ass with a studded paddle. The wealthy man got his kicks out of watching this, but had his phone with him and the blonde 3,000 miles away was on his mind. He knew voice mails weren't going to work, so he texted the following to Shay-- "I assume you're getting your plane ticket to come home. Fun time is over." -- (d)
Shaylen: Shay had just gotten out of the shower after spending the night on the beach with Jake and when she heard the phone, her eyes lit up, thinking it might be him, but her face fell and blue eyes narrowed when she saw it was really Elliott. -- "You know what they say about assumptions, right?" It was her first reply to anything he had to say since she'd left and the sass he wasn't fond of was there in spades. -d-
Elliott (NPC): --Elliott smirked as the young co-ed yelped as the dominatrix got a bit more forceful with the paddle. He shook his head upon seeing the text, saying-- "Miss Beauty Queen lives! I guess you just need to get this whole rebellious phase out of you. You know you would have a better life with me, than whomever you've met since you left. Do I have to drag you home and tie you to the couch?" -- (d)
Shaylen: Shaylen wanted to throw the cell phone out the window. She was pacing the the length of her suite, inwardly seething as she spit back a response. "This isn't a phase and I wouldn't marry you if you were the last man on earth." Civilization be damned before she'd have children with him, let alone take his last name. "I told you no and I meant it, Elliott, and you can tie your tramps down, but if you touch me, you'll regret it." It wasn't an idle threat. She might be small, but she was a spitfire and like all Southern women, she knew a thing or two about firearms and wasn't afraid to use them. Whether or not he realized it, she knew about his little 'meetings' -- she wasn't stupid. -d-
Elliott (NPC): --Elliott laughed as he heard about the tramps. He continued to watch as the poor college girl was being pummeled by the dominatrix. If Shay called, whimpers and small screams could be heard. But it was probably better she didn't. The man responded back-- "Maybe once I take you back, I will tie you down and let "my tramps" have their way with you. Might teach you some obedience." --Oh, this guy was an asshole to the max. He fired back-- "Maybe I do need to come to Hawaii and get you, maybe meet one of the surfer dickheads you picked up while there." -- (d)
Shaylen: Did he really just say that?! Or, type, as the case was. What a depraved dick! She said the words out loud, in fact as she stared at the screen, not even sure how to answer that, but then it came to her. "You're right, Elliott. I did meet someone, and he's more a man than you'll ever be and he knows exactly how to treat a lady, something you're lacking in, along with everything else. So, give up and say goodbye." After hitting send, she also went to the 'cut and paste' option on her phone, pulling up all the messages from between the two and putting them in an email with the last one, which was sent to herself for safe keeping. She didn't like thinking the worst, but from what she knew of him, he wasn't all talk and she just might need proof of him stalking her, especially if it came down to getting a restraining order. -d-
Elliott (NPC): --Elliott laughed as she gave him the final kissoff- or so she thought. He shook his head as he took a picture of the two girls in play and shot it off to her. This was more to enrage her and taunt her at this point. He laughed, texting-- "I'll have to meet this charming lad when I come to get you this weekend. When you come back, you'll be begging me to take it easy on you. If you don't do it for me, do it for your family. They miss you too." -- (d)
[ Character change here -- texts are now between Jake and Shaylen. ]
Shaylen: Getting mad over the photo would mean she cared, but she didn't, so it didn't affect her in the slightest, save for a smirk, because it was yet another thing being shoved into yet another email to herself. Surely if her parents saw any of this they wouldn't want her to marry him, right? "Fuck. Off." It would be her final response before tossing the phone to the bed so hard it bounced and hit the floor, but she clearly didn't give a damn. Her only concern was what he last said: that he was actually flying to Hawaii to find her. Now what? In the bathroom, she looked at herself in the mirror, staring hard at her reflection as she considered her options. She could run, same way she'd already done, but he would always find her -- he had the means to do so, plus, she didn't want to, not when she had Jake.... Jake! Immediately she was racing back out into the bedroom, still wrapped in a towel, her hair still wet and clinging to her bare skin as she searched for the phone, getting down on her hands and knees to find it. It had slid beneath the bed, but once she had it in her hands, still kneeling on the floor, she texted a message to someone else: "Is there a law against stalking across state lines?" It was sent to Jake and by the sound of it and what she shared with him last night, he would know what it was about. -d-
Jake: --Now that Mr. Dickhead Sadist was at bay, Shay sent a text to Jake. At the moment, Jake and Alex were having a conversation about managing duties and such. Jake got the text and had a puzzled, but worried look on his face. He asked Alex for a second and texted back-- "OK, remember my joke about staying with me last night? Not a joke anymore. I think it would be wise to stay in my room, so that dickbag can't track you down." -- (d)
Shaylen: "I remember." She did. They'd both smiled and slid back into kissing, leaving it be just as he said, but a part of her had wondered just how close to the truth it was, sensing from the way he touched and held her, it wasn't that far off. "You sure?" She wasn't declining, making it obvious that whatever the asshole had said to her had been disturbing, but she just wanted to be sure she wouldn't be getting in his way. -d-
Jake: --Jake nodded as he just got a bombshell from Alex as well. Two bombshells in 5 minutes- always wild when it happens. He shot back to Shay-- "Of course, check out of the room now. I'd even go reserve a room to throw him off at another hotel. That way, if he does show up, it will mess him up a bit. I'll see ya back here later, OK?" -- (d)
Shaylen: Lightning sometimes did strike twice. Shay had no clue what was going on at his end (but her mun sure has an inkling, lol), but she closed her eyes and relaxed a little, seeing his text. "Thank you," she shot back. "That's a good idea, too." One she wouldn't have thought of in a million years. "I'll do that and let you know when I'm packed up." She could have just showed up, but she knew he was here with friends and partly on business, so she didn't want to interrupt anything. -d-
