The last few times they had been able to hang out, the man had found himself in what he considered very good company. Usually he wasn't one to do these sorts of things but for some reason, today, he found himself pulling his phone free from the inside jacket pocket and dialed her number. He suspected it would roll over to voice mail as he knew she was a busy woman, and that was fine, he could leave a message.
"Sasha, Mason here. Listen, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get together and grab a bite to eat. Or go get some drinks some time. Ladies choice. Call me. We'll work out the details."
With that, he ended the call and glanced over to a part of his room where he eyed a certain piece of clothing he hadn't bothered to give back, the night of the wet tee shirt contest. He smirked. After a moment, he pushed up, grabbed up his boots and headed for the garage where his Harley was. Was time to roll out and find something to do.

She'd put Mason's voice mail on the back burner for a time as she chased down leads and went back to the ME to get an update on her vic. When she did finally have time to breathe, she called back, listened to his phone ring, and left a message when it rolled to voice. "Hey Mason, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Booze and food, either or. Both sound good. Let me know when is good for you, and I'll see what I can do to sneak out."

Mason had been busy, but he made sure to make time to keep a regular check on his phone in case he missed a call or a text. With seeing he had missed a call, it showed he had voice mail as well. He listened to Sasha's message and grinned a bit to himself.
"No problem blondie. How about both? Booze and food? You want something public or private? I'll oblige to either. I know you deal with people all day long, and I'm not exactly a people person... but I can attempt to behave myself for a couple hours. Maybe. No promises. And maybe sometime between tomorrow and Sunday? I have no idea what your schedule is like, so its up to you. Name when and consider it done."

Phone tag. It was a game often played by those in her profession with those they were sociable with. The job always came first. When Sasha got around to returning Mason's call, she took a deep breath and smiled. She knew he'd hear it in her voice.
"Hi, Mason. Sorry to get back to you so late and on short notice but if you're game, Alex is having a party at his place. He has a horse to be washed named Gus. Sound like a plan?"

So Alex's party for Gus had ended up as noth just a bath for the dog but seems everyone had gotten a little wet and wild. In the end, it had been one hell of a night with Sasha. He had called and or text her since then, but he knew she would and had been busy. However, the man was ready to see her again. Had been for awhile now.
Mason would pull his phone out and fire off a text to her.
"Not sure if you got a late shift tomorrow night or plans even, but I was wondering if you wanted to maybe go out or come out to the cabin. My treat. I'll even cook if you bring dessert."

The message was saved, and a reply sent when she finally had a moment to breathe. "I will most definitely bring dessert. How does tonight sound?"
Smiling, she slipped her phone back into her pocket as she headed for the door. McNeil made a smart assed comment about her smile, and who was she having for dinner... She didn't even slow down as she flipped him off and caught the elevator in the hall, just before the doors closed.
