Alex Vipond: The show wasn't going to start for another three hours but sound check was in two. The bus was out in front of the hotel to take them all to the crater, and Alex was moving through the room, half the time in a blur of motion as he searched the room. "Baby have you seen my tiger's eye and malachite bracelet?" It was a good luck charm and he didn't want to leave without it.
Meghan Vipond: She was dressed already for the show and sat back, watching him run around like a chicken with his head cut off. "I think it's in the jewelry case. In the bathroom." she replied as she sat on the edge of the bed. Meghan wasn't one that typically wore skirts and dresses, but they were in much warmer weather these days and anything that wasn't light and breezy, tended to make her sweat. And she hated to sweat for fear of smelling bad. Which, in turn, was a turn off. For both herself and possibly Alex. It was her weird way of thinking. [d]
Alex Vipond: She could never smell bad to him. Well, maybe if she rolled around in a hog wallow, then yeah. At her suggestion he was off like a shot into the bathroom. Popping open the case, he rummaged through it, found the bracelet and slipped it over his wrist along with the other beaded bands he wore. It was a thing. He moved back into the other room, one hand resting to either side of her on the bed as he leaned in. "Thank you." He smiled then closed the distance, his lips brushing over hers.
Meghan Vipond: Meghan sat there quietly, watched as he moved in a blur from one spot to the next and heard him rummaging through the case. Then he was back, bent over her and leaning in for a kiss. "You're welcome." she whispered back against his lips in a smile. She was wearing a dress. A nice one. And she sat with legs crossed. Though, when he leaned in, hands braced on the bed, the shifting of weight caused her to have to uncross them to better balance herself. Knees together, her hands lifted to cup either side of his face. "You always do great at your shows. So don't worry..." she smiled up at him. [d]
Alex Vipond: He nodded, eyes on hers. "I talked to Jake. About touring. About putting out an album. What do you think?" His eyes searched hers, and then he was settling on the floor in front of her, hands parting her knees so he could lean into her, arms slipping around her as he continued to stare into her eyes. "It's going to mean we're in the public eye and that's going to be difficult."
Meghan Vipond: "I know, we touched base on this the other night. And I'm fine with it if you are. If its really what you want." she replied. She cuddled into him as his arms slipped around her. "I don't have anything to hide..." she started with. "Except... well... the fact that Tony was found dead after I left Rhode Island." she added. "People might speculate... then its going to spark rumors, and then questions. That won't be good for you." Meghan sighed. "I don't want to be a possible downfall for you." [d]
Alex Vipond: "I get the distinct impression that Tony pissed off a lot of people. I don't think anyone is really surprised that he ended up dead. And any rumors that may be sparked that speculate toward us can be easily dispelled. We had nothing to do with it and nothing in that regard to hide. And I've never been to Rhode Island, and until I met you and Charlie, I never knew anyone from Rhode Island."
Meghan Vipond: Head lowered and eyes lowered. Alot of what he said made sense. Perfect sense. But she was still worried that what Asher had done, could come back on her somehow. Even if she had no idea he had done it, nor did she know the details. Fact was, she knew now and since Asher admitted it in a sense, of murder, she was an accomplice because she failed to report it the moment she learned about it. "Tony did piss a lot of people off... but... what if his family and his friends find out about my being with you. Your rich... that makes you an easy target for money hungry people." [d]
Alex Vipond: Frankly, had he done it, Tony never would have been found. Asher really should have left it to him, but there was no talking to the man. He was too busy measuring his dick against Alex's to listen to reason. "They'll find out, eventually. If they watch the news or listen to music, or follow the industry, they will find out that you're with me. And let them come at me. For every attempt they make I can throw a dozen lawyers at them and bury them so deep in paperwork that they'd never see the light of day." He may well be a vampire, capable of sudden, decisive brutality if warranted, but he also knew the the practical side of playing the game as a human would. And he could be just as ruthless with a pen as he could with fang.
Meghan Vipond: She lifted her eyes back to him, chin still dipped. She nodded softly. "I just don't want to ruin a good thing for you is all. If you can promise me that man can't come back and haunt me and cause trouble for us... then, proceed with business as planned." she whispered softly and then leaned in against him, pressing her forehead against his own. Hands still lightly cupping his face. [d]
Alex Vipond: "I promise you, Tony cannot hurt you; he cannot cause problems for us; his family will not cause problems for us." even if he had to compel each and everyone of them into thinking Tony got exactly what he deserved and likely offed himself by what ever means that he died. Alex's only regret was that Asher had run his mouth and told Meghan what he'd done. Selfish bastard had to go ahead and put himself before her and make her an accessory after the fact. If ever there was a loose end, Asher was it. But Alex could no more harm him, than he could harm Meghan herself. Simply put, the result would be the same. Any injury dealt the tiger would be felt by Meghan due to their friendship. Hurting Asher would hurt her and ruin them. He cupped her face in return, a kiss given her. "We'll be fine. I promise you that."
Meghan Vipond: Unfortunately, Meghan was already hurting at Asher's expense. He never calls anymore, never comes by anymore. She's not heard from him or seen him since before Christmas. Their gifts? Exchanged through deliveries. But she did well to hide it. At least she hoped. Meghan hoped he was happy though. Wherever he was and whatever he was doing. It was all that mattered really. When Alex spoke, she nodded softly against him before she replied. "I believe you." she whispered into the kiss before kissing him back fully. [d]
Alex Vipond: His hand slid into her hair and yes, he felt her pain, and hoped only that she healed, simply because it was something he couldn't fix. He couldn't make Asher wizen up.... well, he could. But it wouldn't be sincere and that wouldn't make it better in the long run. In fact it would only prolong her pain.
Meghan Vipond: There were some nights she had sat at the window, stared out and wondered about her friend; having slipped free from Alex's arms, both home and here. Staring out and asking all sorts of questions in her mind on what she had done wrong to cause them to drift so far apart. She blamed herself for his lack of contact. It wasn't like him to be so distant. He had always written her letters when they were younger. He had always sent her gifts for special occasions. Valentines Day, Birthday, and on the anniversary of when they first became friends, along with Christmas. Now? She couldn't even get him to call or text. And the sad part about that was they were in the same city, or had been until the trip to Hawaii. She was still holding out hope for him to come to the wedding, but deep down, something told her, she needed to give that up to. Meghan put on her best smile once the kiss ended. "You better finish getting ready so we can be on our way.” [d]
Alex Vipond: He knew she was hurting and knew there wasn't a damned thing he could do about it. "I love you." He smiled and kissed her tenderly, then rose to finish getting ready. The bus was downstairs being loaded, and it would take a half hour to get there, despite the close proximity. The bus just wasn't as easy to maneuver in traffic as a car was.
Charles J Riley: Charlie had made his special invitation and brief and ot the point as he could. Not even that hard headed kid could mistake the fact that Charlie wasn't pleased. Leaving his suite, he headed for the kids' room and knocked on the door. "You guys ready or are we gonna be late?"
Meghan Vipond: Meghan thought she was doing well in hiding her feelings, seeing as Alex never brought them up, which was fine. It wasn't exactly something she wanted to talk about anyway. "Mind if I go next door and check on Charlie?" she asked. Then there came a knock. "I'll get it." she called out. She moved from the bedroom and made her way to the door. By the time she neared it, she smirked, hearing his voice. The door was opened and she greeted him with a smile. It was probably odd for him, to see Meghan in... A dress: One with color at that. "Come on in... he's finishing up." she replied as she stepped aside to allow him entry, then shut the door behind him. She was in a coral colored summer dress with cute little stacked sandals. [d]
Alex Vipond: "I think it's more like assure Charlie that we aren't slacking." Alex smirked as he went back into the bathroom to work on his hair. He finally gave up and just dragged his fingers through it, though it immediately fell back over his forehead. Ah well. He moved back into the living room and grinned at Charlie. "Hey, how's it going?"
Charles J Riley: He looked his daughter over and nodded. "You look beautiful, baby girl." he smiled to her and kissed her forehead and then there was Alex. "We gonna be late for this shindig or what?"
Alex Vipond: Alex checked his watch. "We got a half hour to get to sound check, which... starts in half an hour." He widened and then relaxed his eyes, and looked between the two of them. "Ready?"
Meghan Vipond: She leaned in to the kiss pressed to her forehead and smiled, letting an arm slip around her old man and gave him a half hug. "Thanks." she replied. She chuckled with his questioning Alex, when he stepped out. When asked if she were ready, she nodded. "I'm ready when the two of you are." Was it bad that his wife was ready long before he had been? [d]
Alex Vipond: Probably. He grinned and moved toward the door, a last look around given, and then he pulled the door open for them.
Charles J Riley: Charlie chuckled and guided Meghan through the door, a smirk given Alex. "You know if you shave that peach fuzz, it may actually come in some day."
Meghan Vipond: Meghan wasn't big on accessories, but she was wearing earrings that Alex had given her, and of course her engagement ring and wedding band. She grabbed the small clutch that held a few necessary items: Phone, key card, wallet. Then she was guided out the door, moving along with Charlie and Alex as they were on their way down stairs to the bus. [d]
Alex Vipond: Alex wilted just a tad. Sadly, it never would, no matter how often he shaved. "So I've heard." He gave a nod, then smiled at Meghan. She was beautiful; he couldn't not grin at her. The elevator ride was brief and once they made it through the lobby, Alex went to confer with the stage crew to make certain everything was loaded. The backline should already be set up, all they needed was to set up the front line and then, theoretically, they were good.
Charles J Riley: Charlie was quiet on the trip down, hands in his pockets, mind on the email he'd sent and hoping like hell it would knock some sense into the kid. When they moved out front and to the bus, he watched the goings on, then gestured Meghan ahead of him to board the fancy bus.
Meghan Vipond: Meghan just smirked. She liked her husband's peach fuzz. It was just enough tickle. Not course and scruffy. Once they were in the lobby, she watched as those who worked for and with the band, was making sure everything was done. Checking, rechecking and re-rechecking it seemed. When she was ushered along toward the bus, she went easily enough and once she was able to climb in, she did. She moved to take a seat, sitting comfortably after setting the clutch aside. Hands then tugged at the hem of her dress, and then smoothed it down. Yeah, still a bit self conscious in these things. [d]
Alex Vipond: Having once done a six show tour in Brazil and not having his guitar until the fourth show... It made one overly cautious. It also made one buy and utilize a corporate jet rather than commercial airliner when ever possible. Once he was assured that everything needed was in fact loaded, he moved to join Meghan and Charlie as they boarded the bus. It was like a dozen others they'd used, over the years, plush and livable, to a degree. After a week they tended to be hated.
Charles J Riley: "Stop fussing, you look pretty." He smiled to her and followed the kids in, a glance around given the bus as they moved upward. "Body could get a nose bleed at this elevation."
Meghan Vipond: Meghan thought it was very nice. And she would think people could handle it more than a week. Especially since they weren't technically living in it, but eventually, she would find out just what it was like, and soon. When Charlie told her to quit fussing over herself, she smiled all sheepish like, as if being busted for doing something bad. "Sorry, habit. I'm just not use to wearing anything but jeans and leather pants." she replied. "I feel so.... exposed." She added with a nervous chuckle. When Alex entered, she scooted over to make room for him. [d]
Alex Vipond: Technically, once they were touring, they would in fact be living in it. A hotel room, with a real bed would be a luxury in many places. And when she scooted, Alex settled beside her. "Well, once we're touring, this is going to become all too familiar." He smiled to her. "More so in foreign countries, especially in some of the more remote areas. Hotels fast become a luxury."
Meghan Vipond: "I know. And I don't care as long as we have security and I'm with you..." and she looked to Charlie. "....and you." she pointed at him with a smirk. "That is if you want to come. And Alex doesn't mind." she added, looking back to her husband then. "Because I'm not sure how the touring thing goes... so I probably should have asked first before making that assumption." [d]
Alex Vipond: "Charlie is more than welcome to come, if he wants to." Alex looked at him and nodded. "It's not easy, it can be downright brutal at times, but now that Jake's on scene, I think things will be a lot smoother."
Charles J Riley: "Sure I don't mind tagging along from time to time, but I think someone should stay home with Gus too. Maybe during those foreign tours when it wouldn't be good to drag him along."
Meghan Vipond: Meghan nodded and smiled as she looked between the pair of them. "Good. And Charlie has a point. Someone needs to keep an eye on him, and we can't keep asking Lauren to do it all the time." she added. "With Charlie's new place, he'll have room to run and play. And they can keep each other company." [d]
Alex Vipond: Alex nodded and smiled. "Thanks, Charlie. I can't tell you how much that means that you're willing to baby sit." He grinned, perfectly relaxed now that they were on the bus and it was pulling away from the hotel. Night was starting to fall and by the time they got to the crater it would be dark. In the mean time, they had Honolulu PD running block for the bus and he suddenly had flashbacks to Brazil, and he chuckled. "The last time I did this, it was unreal. People were running out in front of the bus and we were all freaking out because the cops, the bus, no one slowed down."
Charles J Riley: "Well folks should be smarter than to run out in front of a bus. Damned things don't stop on a dime." He looked out the windows and checked the scenery, the whole matter of Gus and 'baby sitting' getting him to thinking. "What happens when the baby is a real one instead of a drool factory? Not that babies don't drool...."
Meghan Vipond: Brows arched as Alex spoke of what had happened in Brazil. "Oh Gods... don't say that. We don't want that here." she said as she playfully thwapped his arm. When Charlie spoke up, Meghan gave him a odd look. She gave a shake of her head, real subtle like. Charlie might have even missed it if he hadn't been paying attention. She got all tight lipped too; her way of saying to drop the subject: Politely, without her actually saying anything and it not coming across as rude. "So... once we get there... what do we have to do?" she asked, looking from Charlie to Alex. Yes... change of subject! [d]
Alex Vipond: "Um...." Alex looked at Charlie, then at Meghan, not entirely certain how to answer that. The fact that he couldn't father children hadn't been brought up as of yet. He gave Meghan a double take. "No one was hit, they just crossed the street in front of us like it was something they always did. It was wild." He looked between her and Charlie and then with the next question he smiled. "Sound check, we make sure all the equipment is working properly, from the amps to the monitors. It's damned hard to play and stay in tune if you can't hear yourself let alone your band mates. There are speakers at the front of the stage that help us with that and we have these ear pieces we use as well. I usually carry the transceiver in my hip pocket and it picks up the sound from my wireless mic and delivers it to my ears and the sound equipment on stage that pushes it out to the amps."
Charles J Riley: Okay. Kids are a taboo subject. It made him wonder if the kid wasn't shooting blanks. After all you didn't get married without the possibility of rug rats cropping up. He dropped it, though and just listened to the technical aspect of the event as he watched the scenery sweep past the window.
Meghan Vipond: It wasn't just that. Meghan actually had this fear of being a mother. Fear that she wouldn't be a good one. Fear that she would some how fail. So as far as she was concerned, their reason for a lack of kids now or later, was her fault, not Alex. She would some how have to clue Charlie in on that and make him understand. It wasn't something you could.... talk to your dad about like, say... a football game. She had listened to Alex as he replied. "A lot of technology is in use it seems." she replied. "I didn't realize there was more to it than that." [d]
Alex Vipond: "It's very technical. One tour we did in Brazil, six shows in six days in different cities and it was hell, I tell you, we spent more time on the road and in the airport than I care to ever do again, and we had technical the first three shows. Everything from my mic cutting in and out to not being able to hear each other to the airline having lost my guitar.... I didn't get that, until the fourth show, by which time we had our technical difficulties worked out. Last time I ever relied on local sound techs. Or airlines, for that matter."
Charles J Riley: Charlie listened to it all and thought it sounded like a lot more work than anyone ever gave musicians credit for. "So it's not all partying back stage and being mobbed by fans."
Meghan Vipond: "It all sounds like a nightmare when things don't go how they should. I don't know how you or others handle it. I think I would likely bite someone's head off or something had that been me." Yeah, so Meghan had this little issue when it came to her temper. It was usually slow to build, but once it reached its peak... look out because Mount Riley would explode. [d]
Alex Vipond: "It was a trip from hell, but the fans made it all worth it. I apologized to them for the technical issues, and fortunately most spoke English, because my Portuguese sucks ass. I know like maybe five words, all combined. Kind of sad when you realize some of my biggest fans are there, and Germany. They really like me in Germany, but the German crowds are more reserved."
Charles J Riley: As the bus made the trip into the crater, Charlie looked out at the darkening landscape and then the lights and stage that was set up down in the open field in the crater. "And this thing is extinct, right?" Because face it, an eruption during a show and you wouldn't even have time to kiss your ass goodbye.
Meghan Vipond: Meghan just chuckled and shook her head. Hands were moving to once more tug the hem of her dress down. Habit. She looked to Charlie and just sighed inwardly. He would be the one to not only think such things, but voice them. She softly elbowed him. But then, gaze was turning to the window and she too could see the lights and all. [d]
Alex Vipond: Alex chuckled. "It's extinct." He smiled, listening to the band in the seats behind them chatting amongst themselves, ribbing each other and teasing each other about Charlie's suggestion that the volcano may not be dead. As they pulled into the lot, the police and security kept the crowd back behind the barriers and the roadies filed out first, and started unloading equipment. Once they were out, Alex rose and took Meghan's hand. "Shall we?"
Charles J Riley: Charlie had plans, to check out the bus, but he figured after the show was likely a better time since they were on a time crunch at this point. He moved with the band members out of the bus, and as soon as people started filing out the crowd started screaming. It was ... odd.
Meghan Vipond: Meghan watched as several others moved out first and then when Alex stood offering his hand, she took it, letting her own slip within his and stood to her feet. She would let him lead the way and step down and out of the bus after him. Already, pictures were being taken and the bright flashes of light, at first, had her turning her head to keep from getting blinded. A hand lifted to partially block a couple but she was smiling. [d]
Alex Vipond: Alex smiled and waved, even as he lead Meghan through the crowd toward the area set up for them. 'Backstage' was actually a trailer, or rather a few of them, where they could prepare and relax prior to the show. "If you think this is crazy, wait until after the show...." He chuckled as they were lead through. "I have to hit sound check, you guys will be okay here for a while?"
Charles J Riley: "We'll be fine. Not like we're going anywhere." He nodded to Alex, and then checked out the food that they had available back stage in that there trailer for the people.
Meghan Vipond: Meghan kept in stride with Alex as best as she could, all while people were snapping away, reaching out in hopes to get their attention or calling out to Alex and his band. Once they got backstage she looked from Alex to the others and then back. She nodded. "I think we'll be fine." she replied with a smile. She then leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek. If she wasn't pulled back for a kiss to the lips, she would be scoping out the food too. [d]
Miss Shaylen: Shaylen had arrived with Jake and he'd stayed with her as long as he could, but Alex was a client, so this was a business endeavor for him, which left Shay alone backstage for awhile, sipping on some water. For a brief instant, she caught sight of someone familiar: Alex, and smiled. She wasn't sure he'd remember her, they only met briefly, but it was polite and worth a shot, especially since she was here courtesy of him. -d-
Alex Vipond: Alex spotted her and waved, then looked back at Meghan. "Let me introduce you to someone and then I have to head for the stage to do sound check."
Meghan Vipond: Meghan nodded to Alex and grabbed Charlie by the arm, tugging him along with her. They would follow Alex over to be introduced to someone. [d]
Miss Shaylen: She took a quick sip of water before setting the bottle down and quickly standing to greet them once she saw they were headed over. A hand was run over the curve of a hip, smoothing her dress as she matched them step for step. "I wasn't sure you'd remember me," she chuckled a little, looking from Alex to everyone else that followed, offering them all a genuine smile, albeit a nervous one -- she wasn't used to such being in such large crowds. -d-
Charles J Riley: Charlie was tugged and dragged along with, the food having been missed out on, so far, but it wasn't going anywhere yet. He smiled as they neared the girl.
Alex Vipond: "Shay is a friend of Jake's, my manager, and this is my wife, Meghan, and her father, Charlie." He smiled, introducing them. "I hate to introduce and run, but I gotta hit sound check." He kissed Meghan swiftly and then was for the stage on the heels of Arms, Joey and Danny.
Meghan Vipond: She leaned in to the kiss and smiled, playfully smacking his bottom as he turned to head off. Then her attention turned to Shay. "Hey, its nice to meet you." she offered with a smile. [d]
Miss Shaylen: She stood there, the tiny thing hiked up on heels as she looked between them all. "Oh, don't worry about it," she said with a soft little Southern drawl. "I know you're working." When he left, she was still smiling. "It's nice to meet you both. And I do believe congratulations are in order," she offered Meghan a wink because she knew about the wedding. Jake and Alex had mentioned it a few times. -d-
Charles J Riley: "It's a pleasure, Ma'am." He smiled; his facial hair kind of hiding the dimples that would otherwise be apparent.
Alex Vipond: Alex and the band were doing sound check and everything seemed to be working fine. When they were done, he headed back stage with the band, the ear pieces hanging over his shoulder. The show would be starting soon, but at present the crowd was being let past the barriers and filing in toward the stage.
Meghan Vipond: Meghan smiled to the woman whose name was Shay. "Aww, thank you. Yes... I'm quite the happy girl." she replied. She smiled to Charlie but then Alex was returning for a brief moment? She smiled to him and gave a little wave. But then her phone rang and she excused herself to take the call. Hopefully this wouldn't be along call. [d]
Miss Shaylen: "You're welcome," she nodded, her gaze drifting from face to face, watching as people scurried about, and setting things up for the show. -d-
Alex Vipond: Arms was popping donut holes like they were going out of style and Danny was drinking water. Joey was eyeing the food like he wasn't sure were he wanted to start. Alex had it in mind to remind all of them to hit the head before they stepped out on stage because once out....that was it. No stops for bathroom breaks. He himself, grabbed a cup of tea and just looked to the others, eyes following Meghan as she excused herself. Oddly enough, he hoped it was Asher, but he doubted it.

Alex Vipond: Frankly, had he done it, Tony never would have been found. Asher really should have left it to him, but there was no talking to the man. He was too busy measuring his dick against Alex's to listen to reason. "They'll find out, eventually.
