crucible storm: It had been a long.. and exhausting day really, though a meal and nap, brought her back out once more. The* jacket was worn over the blouse and jeans as she just.. walked. Her mind was trying to clear itself from the vents of the day. Though it wasn't entirely easy to do, She came to a halt on the walkway that looked over the water as she absently leaned forward against the railing. Staring off as if the water itself had the answers.
Guyver HellSpawn: There was always a saying or something among humans. Those workaholics who bury themselves into work without eating or sleeping. For a human, this was not a good thing, but for a creature like himself, he had little worries in that regard. The good doctor was taking a leisurely stroll out tonight along with his serpent pet that slither underneath the dark green suit he was wearing. He always liked the peaceful view of the water down by the waterfront and river fronts. For they always reminded him of his tiny fishing village he uses to call homes countless centuries ago. Those steely blue piercing eyes caste a glance to the water and the walkways. To see who else had the same idea as he did
crucible storm: She closed her eyes a moment to drink the cool breeze that came off the water inland before the sigh passed her lips. Her hands slipped into her pockets from resting on the rails as she stood up. Things had disturbed her.. she had been honest at the hospital about that. She hadn't been particularly worried about herself however, never really an option to consider she'd be in any sort of danger as all. Perhaps not the brightest way to look at life but she had done the living behind stone walls.. she had no intention of allowing anyone to make her do it again. She turned and spied the gentleman walking as the small wave was offered. Just a polite greeting. {f
Guyver HellSpawn: If he had a hat he would tip it in greeting. Seeing as how he was without a good fedora hat to do so, he did it the old fashion way. Placing one arm across his chest and giving a lite bow in customary greeting to her. He saw that someone else had a similar idea as he to come here. A polite smiled was also exchanged as he took a quick look to see if anyone else was around. Then the debate over to speak and say something or respect her privacy to perhaps wanting potential solitude of the night without petty interruptions from a complete stranger. What was customary to do in this day and age.
crucible storm: She wasn't really sure how to respond to someone that offered a bow. Though it brought a small warm smile to her feet. " It isn't often one is greeted with such curtsey. "She observed. " Though I'd curtsey.. it'd look a bit ridiculous in jeans. "She glanced down at herself then back to the man. {f
Guyver HellSpawn: He replied back in a soft, gentle voice so as to not spook her or cause any startling notions. "My mother raised me to always be polite and respectful to a woman. Kind, courteous in a way how i would want a man to treat her like my father did. Why shouldn't any woman be afford the same curtsey? Sadly proper manners are lacking in today's generation. " He softly shook his head. It was a different time way back when.
crucible storm: She watched him as she chuckled quietly. " Your Mother sounds like a very smart woman. "She stated as the sigh came from her and the nod. " I don't think people know where to start , when it comes to manners. " She had to agree. " There are still a few left , I imagine.. like yourself that keep such beautiful notions alive. " {F
Guyver HellSpawn: "It is just simple good manners. What do I have a gain from being outright rude or impolite to a stranger, especially a woman. I was even debating how to proceed. There are those unsavory types who see a lovely woman out alone by herself and would either try some un gentlemanly type of action or try to court her even against her wishes. Meanwhile you may be a woman who simply came here for peace of mind and the silence and may not wish to engage in idle banter. Of course you may also be the type to enjoy some form of scintillating dialogue with a random stranger to keep the boredom at bay. I believe men are often conflicted on how to proceed with a young lady for some respond to one type of actions, some respond to others. No two women are the same except for maybe twins, clones and dopplegangers but that is a whole other story." He gave a mere kind smile as he would let her respond how she wished.
crucible storm: She blinked as the man began speaking though she glanced around a moment before looking back at him. " Um.. well there is always one way to figure out if a woman wants to talk to you. "She offered as she stepped forward toward him and offered her hand. " Hi.. I'm Timber.. and you are? " She grinned. " Just introduce yourself.. if they shy away then.. they aren't interested, if they shake your hand and say hello? Its a good possibility they don't mind the company. " {f
Guyver HellSpawn: When she offered her hand, he simply took it in his and leaned down to place a kiss upon the back of her hand."Mi lady, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am Dr. Black, but you may call me Vincent if you prefer. There is wisdom in those words you speak Miss Timber or is it Ms. I am not sure which title you like to be addressed by." He said while still keeping a perfectly straight face.
crucible storm: She blushed a little at the kiss to the back of her hand as she slowly withdrew it. " Um.. probably shouldn't do that part.. some people would get a little.. uncomfortable. "She explained. The brows lifted. " Miss.. and just Timber.. I'm sorta a no body so its all good. "She chuckled. " Its a pleasure to meet you Vincent. " She added politely. <d
Guyver HellSpawn: "Forgive me. It is a custom greeting where I come from. The pleasure is all mine. Do not sell yourself short Timber. Surely you are or were a somebody to someone like friends or family. " He looked around and glanced to the water then the sky and back to her. "Had the same idea as me? To come out and enjoy the stillness of the waters and the serenity of the Night?'
crucible storm: She just let that go about the family and such. She shifted and looked back over the water, just as he did. " Yeah.. I guess its that whole.. its.. so big and amazing.. makes you remember how small you and.. and how small problems can be. "She gave a small shrug. " As corny as that sounds. " {f
Guyver HellSpawn: "I think it is fine. Just as simple grain of sand makes up an entire beach and atoms and molecules compose of us. To the universe we are small and may look insignificant but we are all part of a greater whole much bigger then ourselves. If you believe in such a thing as that. Great circle of life, we are all part of a much larger chain and so forth. Still one can not argue for finding a piece of scenery that agrees with you and speaks to you on some level." He gave a slight head tilt to the sky as he took a moment to observe the stars as if making some unseen point.
crucible storm: She listened and gave a small nod. " True to a point I guess. However it makes you wonder if one piece of that chain breaks.. does it falter? "She shook her head. " It goes unnoticed." She pointed out to him. Of course it was all for the sake of conversation to play advocate. The grin appeared as she looked up at the sky, almost as if to figure out what he was looking at. " Do you work up at the hospital then or a private practice? " {f
Guyver HellSpawn: He smirked a moment and looked at her. " I suppose that is a fair common question to ask since I did refer to myself as a doctor by title. I do indeed work at both. I began working at Seattle Memorial hospital until recently when I acquired the necessary funds, location and building along with supplies to open and run my own private clinic. I still do work at the hospital for the sake of my patients and the kids in the children ward who really take a likening to my shadow puppets and one of my pet snakes I bring in for a little show and tell. The girls mostly shy away but not the young boys. Though not surprising since young boys like to get dirty and play with bugs and so forth while young girls are a bit more squeamish. Right now I am just trying to staff and get everything settled at my clinic. Starting your own is not as easy as some might suggest. Takes a lot of work to make it successful."
crucible storm: She listened to him and gave a small nod. " I like going up to there to read to them.. the kids.. " She gave a small nod, of course she had other reasons for being there. She just wasn't going to point that out. " Well most have the idea that snakes are slimey and creepy.. honestly one of the cleanest pets you can have. And quiet .. like spiders. "She gave a little chuckle about that. " Oh? I'll have to come pester you for a job then. "she grinned. "I"m a fairly good receptionist. "She figured what the hell.. she doubted she still had the job offers from Alex after missing her first day. Though it couldn't be helped. {f
Guyver HellSpawn: "Perhaps it is kismet. I could always use a receptionist or even help at the clinic. It is understaffed at the moment so any help is most welcome. I will have to conduct a proper interview and ask about qualifications and so forth. Just to be or look ''official'' and make sure no one says I just hired you on the spot for a pretty face. Though least you will not worry about me asking for a doctorate or the likes. I am not going to have you perform open heart surgery or the like. I know most clinics and such require a lot to work there depending on position. Though internships work great and there are basic job some people take like charge of meds or laundry and such. Though you need not worry about that. If you know how to read and write well, use a computer and word processor. Know how to organize and file things and maintain inventory if need be, your interview should go fine. Now is there a particular type of clinic work or clinic in general you wished to go to such as animal or peoples clinic?"
crucible storm: She gave a small laugh and gave a nod. " Well .. I.. don't have what some would call a traditional education. "She admitted. " So nothing on paper at least. " She sighed softly and turned to press her back against the rail. " That seems to be the biggest part of all this.. I.. um.. I was home schooled. " She could use that , sure.. just well how did one explained they were home schooled by a government program? " I can do the filing and such no problems but I don't have anything that would allow me to qualify for actually seeing patients or dealing with medications. I know a lot about the medical field.. books and such. I always found it.. fascinating. " She explained as she slipped her hands into her pockets. " Oh people.. animals are alright but..I understand the human physiology much better. " Of course she never tried to heal an animal {d
Guyver HellSpawn: He gave a light chuckle. "Well back in medieval times were was no school or piece of paper to tell you what you can and can not do or what you know how to do. It was all self taught or a family trade or for some jobs, you were trained on the spot and if you did good work, you kept the job, fail a number of times and it was over. So let us go with that. A work and see how you do type of thing. Get trained in the field so to speak and then at some time, conduct an evaluation process to determine a final outcome type of deal. I believe in seeing what a person can do themselves or learn to do rather then let a piece of paper dictate every single thing." After all, in his day there was college degree or high school diploma. It was all family business learning the trade or having a mentor to teach you everything you need to know right then and there." So if you wish to come pester me for a job you may. That is assuming you have not found something else before hand or you are waiting on a call back. " Lucky enough for her, since the ways of learning was so different in the olden days, he would not dismiss her off just for not having traditional paperwork.
crucible storm: She tilted her head a little. " You do realize that well the medieval periods of time were interesting the reason that the FDA and other regulations have to be observed. "She pointed out to him. Well she didn't want him getting into trouble. " Alright.. when you have things set up .. I'll come down and take a look.. "She grinned though a little uncertain. <d
Guyver HellSpawn: "Yes I am aware. I was just pointing out how things were in that whole catch twenty two type of deal. Like a teenager trying to get a job as a babysitter but often can't because parents want one with experience which is difficult to obtain without being able to get the experience needed to be able to in the first place. You pointed out a receptionist job and that is simple enough in itself to not require a six year college degree to be able to qualify for it. Just want to state I am not one of those overburding impossible to please task masters is all. Well take my card I have one for the clinic and other is for the hospital I work at. You will be able to reach me at one of the two locations. Sleep on it and when you feel ready, just let me know. I will have everything set up by week's end should you wish to come down and take a look. We all got to start somewhere right?" He reached into the left inner pocket of his suit and handed two cards to her.
crucible storm: She gave a small nod. " sorry.. I didn't mean to sound offensive. "she explained as she took the cards as he offered them. " I'll make sure I give you call . "She stated. <d
Guyver HellSpawn: "No need to be sorry Miss Timber. It takes a great deal to offend me or rouse me to anger. I am much more patient and tolerant then the average person. I simply like to give a helping hand to those in need who deserve it, it is one of the many reasons I became a doctor. Oh yes my clinic is a peoples clinic, but a small part is an animal clinic as well. similar to a vet. Help out those people who hit a stray dog or cat or those who can not afford one of those overprice fancy vet hospitals. I like to help out the little man or woman when i can. It is a pleasure meeting you Miss Timber. Do you need me to escourt you to your car or call you a cab? I would hate for not hearing from you because something happened to you when we depart from here."
crucible storm: She gave a small nod accepting what he had to say. She shifted alittle as she considered the fact of working with animals as well as people. " ah no.. I'll walk. I don't live that far away" She admitted as she pointed off down the street. " I"ll be in touch with you soon about th ejob though. " She held out her hand toward him again. " It was a pleasure to meet you Vincent. And I look forward to the opportunty to work with you. " <d
Guyver HellSpawn: "I hope the mention of animals does not frigthen you off. You will not have to deal with them in anyway if you choose not to interact with them. Whatever makes you feel secure. " He took her hand and gave a polite shake. Unsure how she would react if he gave the same goodbye greeting as he did the introductory one. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Timber. I look forward to working with you and should you choose not too. I would be fine just getting the chance to enjoy the pleasure of your company in the future."
crucible storm: She shook his hand and chuckled quietly. " We'll see.. I just don't have much experience with animals.. but we'll talk about that when I set up an interveiw. "She spoke with a warm smile. " I hope you have a good evening " She ducked her head politely to him as she turned to walk home.
