T C Beckwith: The lights were on, and yes, someone was home. A couple someone's at least, though TC was the only one that actually lived there. The place was remote, a good two hours from Seattle, and there weren't any phone lines or electrical cables run. And no, there wasn't any such thing as city sewer out here. It was called a septic tank that was pumped out once a month by a sludge pumper. Some would consider it heathenish. TC found it to be perfect. He didn't have to deal with people any more than he had to. He sat on the porch, sipping a beer, and then glanced over at Sasha. "I invited everyone. Not that we have a lot of everyone left, and yes, the invitation was extended to Mars so don't get your panties in a twist."
Sasha M Gray: Sasha smirked and shook her head at him. "I did not say a word, and who said I wear panties?" One brow rose as she regarded him, and then she tipped her beer up to hide the smirk. "Alex did say he was coming, right?" No, Alex wasn't pack, but he was family, and he'd been present for every major bit of shit that had come down the pipe for the pack. He had their back, and they had his. Alex was in fact, on his way, left hand on the wheel of the Benz as he negotiated the mountain road, the right rested on Adrienne's thigh. And really? Sasha goes commando huh? Interesting. "This road's a bitch in the winter." Hell, if it weren't for TC, the road likely wouldn't be plowed, which led one to wonder, with as much as he hates being around a lot of people, why he bothered with the road at all. Then again, he jarred his kidneys enough on that panhead.
Sasha M Gray: Perv.
An OId Wolf: The jeep came to a slow stop just outside. The motor idled for a moment before dying, the lights soon followed. Mac was just inside, running his finger along the screen of his phone. He wasn't alone in the jeep however, he had picked up a stray.
Wrinkled Black: Adrienne was enjoying the scenery, though, her hand over Alex's. "Especially with your choice of cars, I'm sure." Smirk. She was silent a moment, teeth gnawing at her bottom lip. "You're sure they won't mind my coming along?"
TheIrishWoIf: A stray? Had to use the word stray? Loner, estranged guest, rogue... any of those would be better than stray. Once the Jeep was killed, she peered out of the windshield a moment before taking off her seat belt and moving to pop open the door. "I still say this is a bad idea." Her nerves were already getting a little jumbled up.
Alex Vipond: Alex smiled at her and shook his head. "No, you're fine." He smiled, a chuckle given. "We probably should drive the Tesla down to LA and bring the Range Rover up. It would make more sense." Since there wasn't a lot of need for a Range Rover in LA and he could appreciate thumbing his nose at those high gas prices in Cali.
T C Beckwith: "Looks like the party's about to get started." TC nodded to the duo in the Jeep as they pulled in, and then he glanced at Sasha.
Sasha M Gray: "Indeed it do." She lifted her beer and took another drink, gaze shifting from Mac to the woman, studying her. It was habit. She looked at everyone as if they either had or were about to commit a crime.
An OId Wolf: "You think everything is a bad idea." He commented while mimicking her movement in stepping out of the jeep. His weathered boots crunched small rocks beneath the soles when he turned to shut the door and engage the anti-theft. Mac didn't move any further until his hat was placed atop his head, and his jacket was adjusted so it hid his concealed sidearm and badge from plain sight. Once he felt comfortable, the ancient wolf followed after Eithne, idly fixing the cuffs of his jacket.
Alex Vipond: The Benz rolled slowly into the area out front of TC's place, and yes, Sasha's car as well as the Jeep were noted. "Now see? There's a vehicle doesn't mind rough roads." The Jeep, not Sasha's car. Alex highly doubted she went all Dukes of Hazard in the thing. Killing the engine, Alex popped his door and slid out, taking a moment to light a cigarette since it looked like they were congregating on the porch as he rounded the nose of the car to pull open Adrienne's door.
TheIrishWoIf: There was a pause there before scowling. "I do not." She replied, though not fully convincing. "Just anything that includes me and a lot of people." Using the word 'people' in the loosest of sense of course. She'd stop so Mac could lead the way instead and folded arms over her stomach. An idle wave was given to Sasha and TC before glancing over her shoulder to see Alex and guest show up - wave sent that way too.
Wrinkled Black: "But....but why the Tesla?" She actually pouted for that! Perhaps it was because that was the one of his cars she'd driven and it was amazeballs. Snickering, she climbed out and gave him a kiss to his cheek, mindful of the cigarette. "Not a bad idea, though. And who am I to say no to a trip to LA?"
T C Beckwith: "Beer's in the fridge, booze is on the bar." TC hooked his thumb over his shoulder at the door. "Help yourself." TC didn't much stand on formality, and folks that come to his door were, by and large treated like family... or met with a shotgun. The latter not being the case here, obviously.
TheIrishWoIf: Or a tranquilizer.
Sasha M Gray: Returning the wave, Sasha gave a nod and looked back at Mac. "Good to see you again." She nodded, and looked back at TC, then shifted in her lean against the porch post.
Alex Vipond: "Have you seen the price of gas in LA?" He smirked, the kiss to his cheek returned in kind and yes, he was careful about not blowing smoke where it wasn't wanted or needed. With his free hand at the small of her back, he guided her toward the post. "Hey guys." He nodded to everyone, then laid his cigarette in the gravel to take TC up on his offer of booze. "Excuse me." he stepped past the others and disappeared inside the house, calling out. "Anybody want anything while I'm in here?"
TheIrishWoIf: "Whiskey." Eithne called, since the offer was made, and she wasn't specific on the brand this time since, at this point, any kind would do. "Eighty-six the glass though."
An OId Wolf: Mac made it to the top of the stairs and paused. He had finally fixed his cuffs and offered a charming grin. "Thanks, " in relation to the offer of drinks. "It's nice to see you again too." His grin remained when acknowledging Sasha but his attention shifted back behind him where Alex and his guest brought up the last of everyone present. He offered a subtle nod and stepped to the side to allow them by. "So what's the plan here?"
T C Beckwith: TC shook his head, even though Alex wouldn't hear that, but he did call out. "I'm good, thanks." He then looked back at Mac. "Well, since this looks like everyone, and pretty much everyone here already knows, unless some don't..." he looked at Eithne, then back at Mac. Before looking at the others. "Mac here is taking over leadership of the pack, anyone got issue with that, take it up with him."
Wrinkled Black: "Okay, fair enough..." So long as he let her drive it for a stretch on the way down. She followed after Alex, hands stuffed in the pockets of her jeans. Adrienne wasn't much of a purse girl, sticking to the bare essentials of keys, wallet, and phone, so long as they could fit in her pocket. "Beer please, babe?" She smiled to him before that smile was turned to the rest of the gathered party, keeping quiet.
Sasha M Gray: "Ever so eloquent." Sasha rolled her eyes; then looked back at Mac. "Good to have you back, Mac." It wasn't anything bad about TC, but she knew he'd been wrangled into the position.
Alex Vipond: Beers, because Sasha hadn't answered, and a bottle under his arm and four glasses, just in case, and yes, Eithne would use one, since he was only bringing the one bottle out and she was gonna have to share like a big girl and not put a nipple on the damned thing. Alex stepped out, and nodded. "TC was pretty much railroaded, and for all that he's done a good job." Glasses were offered out with one hand, beer with the other.
TheIrishWoIf: Didn't even get her whiskey first and the news was broken. There was a lift of the brow as brown eyes shifted between TC and Mac. "So that's what you meant by you're gonna be staying around." Eithne said, taking the glass from Alex with one of those 'gee thanks' looks, not like she didn't have enough stashed away somewhere.
An OId Wolf: Short and sweet was how Mac liked ceremonies of this nature. He didn't enjoy speeches much, especially when it came to giving them. He just smiled and chuckled at some of the comments coming up. It seemed like a pretty small pack, but maybe that could change. "I appreciate the opportunity to return. I've been keeping some of you in the dark about my 'sticking around,' but yes; this was the motive behind that conclusion." He offered his hand to TC to 'seal the deal,' per se.
Sasha M Gray: Sasha drained her beer, and took one of the ones Alex offered out, the empty set on the porch at her feet before she looked back at Mac. Cracking the cap off, she tucked it into her pocket before she tipped the bottle up.
T C Beckwith: TC nodded and moved to take Mac's hand. "Congratulations; drink up." A smirk was sent Eithne's way over the look she gave Alex, before he looked over at Adrienne. "Name's TC, Alex is rude. This here is Sasha, Mac and Eithne, there's a few stragglers about but they didn't show. Could be they got lost, despite the map."
TheIrishWoIf: Kept some of them in the dark? Eithne scoffed at that before turning when introductions were made with the woman Alex brought up. "'Ello..." She said, then looking back to TC. "Couldn't possibly be that you live in the middle of nowhere could it?" She said with a snicker, taking a long drink from her glass of whiskey.
Wrinkled Black: Taking her beer, Adrienne listened curiously, and when TC's attention turned toward her mid-sip, she had to pull the bottle away carefully so as not to spill. Chuckling, she nodded all around. "Nice to meet you guys. I'm Adrienne." A light pat was given to Alex's back in a 'good job, honey' sort of way.
Alex Vipond: "Sorry, guys, this is Adrienne, my girlfriend." Divorced for all of ten hours. No, moss did not grow under his feet. Not that he'd been looking for a girlfriend but he found her and he's gonna keep her. Yes, he was lax in manners, and he smiled at Adrienne's patting him on the back. "I excel at social ineptitude." At times anyway.
T C Beckwith: "You're not the only one and yes..." he looked back at Eithne. "That may well be. Could also be the point of living in the middle of nowhere."
Wrinkled Black: "It's okay, you're still cute." That had to make up for something, right? She winked at him before taking another sip from the beer.
TheIrishWoIf: "People have to track my cell to find me usually." She said with a shrug of her shoulders - or follow their nose to some good eats because she'd likely be there stuffing her face. Especially if it was fish... she had a weak spot for seafood. One glass done and she'd reach for the bottle of whiskey to pour another.
An OId Wolf: Mac wasn't much for drinking anymore. He wasn't particularly good at it, and celebrating was just something he rarely did anymore. When Eithne reached for the bottle, she found that it was already claimed by him. He tipped it slightly to fill her glass, and set it down in front of her with a charming grin. "So what's next?"
Sasha M Gray: "And he can carry a tune without a wheelbarrow, so you don't have to smother him with a pillow." Sasha nodded, then tipped her beer up, taking a drink as she looked around. "Have to admit, though, that it's beautiful up here, peaceful." She looked back at Mac. "Well, you need to decide if I still have a job or not, and then figure out where we're going as a pack." She shot a look at Alex. "You say Disneyland; I shoot you in the knee."
Wrinkled Black: Grinning, Adrienne pointed to Sasha. "Oh, I like her."
Alex Vipond: "Christ, you think the woman knows me or something." He snickered, but held his hands out in surrender. "Just don't threaten me with a good time, I'll get in trouble." Looking at Adrienne, he chuckled again. "You two will get along just fine."
T C Beckwith: "There's eats in the house if you want. Got plenty of beef and a grill that could be fired up." That was about it as far as TC was concerned.
Sasha M Gray: Sasha nodded to Adrienne. "I perp walked him once, he's had a thing for my cuffs ever since." She smirked. "You can borrow them if you want, I got an extra set."
An OId Wolf: "Things will remain the same until I see a need to change it." Mac assured Sasha, his grin still present.
Wrinkled Black: "Oh really?" Brows went up at Alex, but instead of questioning either she just took a sip of her beer. Safer that way.
Sasha M Gray: She looked back at Mac, and grinned in return. She couldn't help it, his grin was infectious.
TheIrishWoIf: Yeah, he only thought that grin was charming - a nudge was given to his side with her elbow before cuffs were brought up. "You have earplugs?" She asked TC since he mentioned food - but luckily she'd gotten her fill before being talked into coming along for the ride.
Alex Vipond: It was a long standing joke. "She thought I was up to some shenanigans during the course of one of her investigations when she was newly transferred. She just had to get to know me is all, to know I wouldn't do something like that." Not that he wouldn't end someone, if they deserved it, but not what had happened in the case Sasha had been investigating at the time. "And as always," all kidding aside, Alex looked at Mac, "You've got our support. We've enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for some time now."
An OId Wolf: "Words echoed from before; things will remain the same until I see a need to change it. The pack seems to be in a good spot with good support, no sense in making that course alter." He offered a hand to shake Alex's. "So I appreciate it." After a brief shake, Mac shifted down the steps slowly. "I suppose I need to return. I've got some things to do. It was nice seeing everyone again; Adrienne, nice to meet you." A parting wave was made before he pulled his jeep door open. Pausing outside the jeep, he rubbed his side where Eithne had nudged him moments before. "You coming along?"
T C Beckwith: TC leaned against the log ends jutting out from the construction of the house, and took a sip of his beer, just listening and watching. "Take it easy heading back down the mountain, those grades can get steep and those logging trucks don't much give a damn who they try to run down."
An OId Wolf: "I'll endeavor to remain in one piece," he assured TC.
TheIrishWoIf: "What am I, at your beck and call?" She asked, looking at him a moment before downing the newly filled glass of whiskey and setting it down. Yeah, she was coming. "See you guys, nice meeting you Adrienne." She said with a short smile before turning and joining Mac at the Jeep.
Sasha M Gray: "I should be getting back as well." She finished off her beer, plucked up her empty and carried both into the house to drop into the recycle. Then she headed back out, hands tucked into his hip pockets. "Have a good one, Mac, Eithne."
Alex Vipond: Alex reached out and took Mac's hand, and then nodded. "Catch you later, guys." Alex gave them a wave, then looked back at Sasha, before he looked over at TC. "Well if you're good, we could head back down." As it was, it would be closing in on midnight by the time they got home. Especially if they stopped for a bite to eat.
Wrinkled Black: "Goodnight." She smiled to Mac and Eithne, her free hand lifting in a wiggle of fingers, before looking back to the others.
